Chaos is known as the being that never became a star. It is everywhere and yet nowhere at the same time.
Neither good nor evil, the ultimate expression of nothingness. The antithesis of the cosmos, creation itself.
Although Chaos claims to be the very state of existence from which the first entities appeared, it cannot form into the entity it wants most.
So it has been cursed to stay in the form of a dark and shapeless void. Floating between existence and nonexistence.
Longingly watching as stars are constantly born and lives are lived. The seeds of malice had been planted, flourished and transformed Chaos into the purest form of evil.
At age five, Julius couldn't understand it. He couldn't understand the adults that suddenly came over to their house to tell Alex and him that their parents were gone. Although they had talked more to Alex than they did to Julius for reasons that were never told to him. He can only assume it was one of those 'older kids' things. Whatever they talked about, the next day Julius had to pack his belongings and move out to live with that policeman that often came over to chat with them. It was weird but he didn't question it too much because he was a cop and Alex was there with him.[break][break]
Sleeping in a new bed felt strange and the only familiarity he had was seeing his brother. Breakfast was eaten with different people, and there were different meals set on the table as well. At the very least, he still went to the same school but the teachers treated him differently. They spoke softer to him and were more patient in explaining to the five year old on some of his homework. They often told him that they were there for him but he couldn't really understand. [break][break]
At age six, Julius realized that he hadn't seen his parents for almost a year. He had new teachers who didn't talk to him as softly. He was used to the new meals he got and the fact that he shared a room with his brother instead of his parents. And yet, he still couldn't understand it. Which was why Julius sat on their bed with the paper meant to inform a parent or guardian of a child of a teacher's meeting, gray eyes watching as his brother seemed to be doing some kind of homework he couldn't understand. One day, he would but today was not the day. That was something Julius had learned, patience.[break][break]
"Alex...when are mom and dad coming back?" he asked as gray eyes darted down at the paper in hand. The one that he had only pulled out from the folder as his brother was working with a small frown on his face. His parents had been 'gone' for a year now but weren't that too long for undercover cop spy stuff? Just when were they going to come back? "Don't they miss us?' he couldn't help but ask.

It... It... hurt... Everything hurt. He had to be strong, he had to be strong for Julius... Just.. just.. had to be strong. Daddy would have wanted him to be strong to comfort his brother. That's what they said.. that's what they whispered in his ear, at the funeral, at the school, even here at the home. Things at first... Were hard.. Really hard. He'd... clung to his school, the normality of school.. The normality of his brother... clung to the familiarity of the family friend... Clung to his... his.. spite toward who killed his parents. A simple. Shooting. A simple... Disregard for human life.
He'd became a little obsessed with trying to understand why people could just disregard life, why it had to be his parents. Playing with the girl of their foster home tor release the stress, sometimes a little harshly.. But. IT HURT. IT HURT SO MUCH! Like a crippling paper incapable of regaining its original posture.. it'll always be BROKEN. Looking at his brother.. EACH EVERY Day he couldn't tell him. nobody COULD. just. Too EaRLY. Too Soon. It. had to be an adult. It had to be an adult. It had to be an adult. its been a year had to be an adult. HAD TO BE AN ADULT.
He stared at the newspaper clippings,a nd all his gatherings... Secretly collecting them all this time to relieve this secret growing obsession, the nagging feeling to ask to visit the library.. Asking to learn the technology there.. To understand everything... Everything ADULTS had to deal with... JUST. Just. so he could be strong, a Mountain for his brother. Head Held High. HEAD HELD HIGH. Be Brave. Be Daddy's Little Man. BE BIG BRO'. He reread the information, words much too large for his mind to wrap around. Random markings all over the clipping making it look like he was drawing on it... Really to hide the task he was doing... Really.. To make it Look... Deceitful.... So no adult come in asking... NO ADULT Butting in.... No Empty PROMISES. No.. No... No... Just. NO.
A voice came out, a gentle soft high pitch voice.. He turned from his readings, his eyes meeting those of grey almost mirroring his own. The same eyes meeting what was in his hand, causing a small blush to form on his young boy-like face at being caught redhanded, and absolute worst question. Quickly he stuffed the papers into his little very organized folder, attempting to hide it all under terrible action drawings from tv heroes he saw... A good... Excuse... An escape... A quick topic changer.... He followed the common response he'd been using this whole year... a whole year had passed. ADULTS HAVE TO TELL. ADULTS...... "When they can, sure Mom and Pa are missing us." He answered his voice holding a slight sharp edge, as if he hated the tainted words coming out of his mouth. He knew what had happened... he knew ALL of IT. Why couldn't he tell his younger brother? Tear down his world. Make things worst. "Mr. and Miss Turrent are doing all they can..." He gulped blush growing sharper red, eyes growing colder.... He hated.. this. Why... did.. he.. His posture softened as he looked from the papers to his brother. "Hey, wanna do something fun?" He gave a gentle grin that soon grew to one of false joy, an act to make his little brother forget... An act that may have became well practiced... one... he didn't like at all. There was only so many times you could lie... BE AN ADULT... Be A LIAR.
Julius stared at his brother his lips slightly puckered up. Gray eyes had caught his brother hastily putting the paper away but not really understanding it. He was probably just doing homework or something right? What was so embarrassing about that? The answer he received had failed to appease to the boy. Well, he's been missing them for a year! If they really missed him, then how come they haven't come back yet? He wanted to go back home. Not to this house no matter how nice it was. He wanted to go home where he can see his parents. He didn't want to just hear stories of what they used to do but see what they were doing with his own eyes. However, that wasn't happening. That hasn't happened for a year and..and...and he could barely remember what they look like. If it wasn't for the photograph of them, he wouldn't even remember what they looked like and that wasn't fair. [break][break]
"They're not mom and dad," the six year old insisted when his brother brought up their caretakers. They just weren't...they couldn't replace his mom and dad. Julius refused to not picking up the tone in his brother's voice. Julus couldn't hear the small desperation nor the pain in his brother's lies. [break][break]
"No!" he shouted crossing his arms and crinkling the paper. "I wanna see mom and dad!" he demanded as he jumped off the bed. He was done with all the fun games. Or well..not really. He liked fun games but he couldn't let that distract him. He had waited for a year for his parents. It was almost like waiting for Santa but he had done it. And yet..unlike Santa they didn't seem to be coming home or even giving him a call. "I'm...I'm going to go look for them!" he declared. He'll just...walk to a police station. Did he knew where those were? Not really but he can ask people. Or look for a map or something. He'll find them and ask them to go home and...if they really missed him like Alex says they'll finally come back right? "Don't you miss them?' he asked, eyes narrowed and his voice carrying an accusing tone.[break][break]
note: i am so sorry you had to deal with this during your dark times, alex.
[newclass=.nologicimg]height:70px;width:70px;padding:15px;background-color:#222222;border-radius:100%;float:left;margin:20px 25px 0px -35px;[/newclass]
'they're not mom and dad' reply was short and simple to the point, and it was a stab... such a strong stab, he didn't know how to respond, he wasn't even sure the family friend knew how to respond to those responses. "I know" He whispered softly to his brother.... before being cut-off with a large shout of No, answering the question, crinkling a paper in his hand. Shouting about Mom and Dad, The frustration grew onto Alex as he resisted the urge to shout everything he knew. Only to see his little bro jump off the bed, and shouting in his kid voice loud enough for... adults to probably hear.. Alex hoped. Declaring about looking for them! Suddenly pausing, giving him that harsh air, that... Alex wasn't even sure how to explain how his brother came off, the inhumane look daring look.... Strain... Accusing, almost as if he could just turn on his brother and attack him, asking. 'don't you miss them?' the thing... he had been asked. This play... sometimes happens once a month.. sometimes daily...Sometimes... just... He rolled his eyes getting up from his chair, "Would you stop that? Fine, no Games."
He gave a big moan timing it in his head. 5. 4. 3. 2. 1......Now? now.. okay now.. 5.. 4... 3.... Where were they? He walked past his little brother opening the door to see nobody coming. No... Adult Coming. It... it.. Nobody.. heard... Nobody coming to interrupt, giving him glares... Giving his little brother the usual 'they are gone a little longer' lying talk. He took a small sigh closing the door with a click, turning to his little brother. "Yeah... I do miss them" His memories flashed of the park, the struggling of his little baby brother being so picky about food.. how his mom gave him the bottle, telling him to wait a moment.. hold it this way.. hold it that way. Calm down, clean up this mess, look your little brother cried. Yada. yada. yada..... Then his big strong father... Just. Why? He walked past the little brother again, pulling out his folder holding it up to him. "this.. this... isn't homework.. not... that kind of homework..."[b/] He gulped throwing the folder roughly on the floor all the newspaper clippings and large big letters all over the place, some even with the images of their parents in colored detail. "Our parents.. Are Dead. " He picked up the photo of the killer, pointing at it roughly. "This Man, shot them. Shot them Both cold hearted. He's a villain, He did it." he dropped it like the man was trash, anger frustration and blame at all he had to go through toward this 1 man. He waited calmly for his brother's reaction. he had done it. He had betrayed the ADULTs... The Lies. His Father. The Mountain. Gave In. Caved. In. His heart stuttered, this man's fault/blockquote]
Julius gave a stubborn nod, no games. No...no matter how much fun...that is. No games! Not when they were more important things like finding their parents and telling them how much he missed them. Gray eyes looked at Alex in expectations because well...his brother missed them, right? So, that had to mean that his brother would want to go with him to find them! It would only make sense. Julius was determined this time to see his plans through. Nothing was going to distract him. Not Alex and his games, nor the adults and their usual candy. Not even if they offered to take him to watch a movie! [break][break]
Yet as the moment of silence passed, nothing happened. Alex did not go with him and the adults do not magically pop out of nowhere with something to do. Although, Julius really did not care for the latter at all. No, what worried him had been the former. Why...why wasn't Alex offering to come with him? Did he not miss them? And like most children, Julius asked the question that was on his mind, his tone accusing because he could not believe this. Gray eyes widen as his brother walked over to close the door. "No!" he yelped out hurrying over as fast as his stubby little legs would let him. The two met at the door, with Alex having already locked it and looking at his brother declaring that he missed them. Well if he missed them, then why did he lock the door!?[break][break]
It wasn't that the six year old couldn't unlock it. In fact, his hands had reached up ignoring his brother and his stupid 'I miss Mom and Pa but I'm not going to look for them' attitude when he heard the sound of something hitting the floor. Curious, Julius turned around to see newspapers which honestly were always boring to him. However, what did catch his eyes were the picture of his parents with the wold 'killed in action' above their head. While Julius may not understand what 'action' meant, he knew what killed meant. Killed meant that they were gone but not on some secret spy mission or outside to have an adult's night while the kids have to deal with a babysitter. No, killed meant being gone in a way where they would never come back. Killed meant that they were 'in a better place now', a place that neither of the remaining Vesper's can go.[break][break]
Tears welled up in front of gray eyes as his brother picked up the photo of a man telling him that he was the killer. He..he didn't look bad or anything. He didn't have a weird mustache, or a hat, or horns or anything to say 'this is the bad guy' like on TV. He honestly didn't even look that much older than them. His brother then dropped the picture in a similar way to how he would drop something in the trash can. Julius's lips quivered as his hands balled into fists. "Y-y-you're wro-wrong." he managed to croak out as he shook his head. "Mom....Mom and Da-Dad...can't...be...de-dead. They....they...goo-good! Good pe-people...do-don't...di-di-die!" he accused his brother shaking his head.[break][break]
That's right, all he had to do was open the door. Open the door and find a police station and he'll see his parents. They'll tell him that Alex was wrong. That Alex was wrong because they were alive because only bad people die! Good people live to a very long age and become grandparents. Good people get to be happy and not 'killed in action'. "You're wrong!"
[newclass=.nologicimg]height:70px;width:70px;padding:15px;background-color:#222222;border-radius:100%;float:left;margin:20px 25px 0px -35px;[/newclass]
'you're wrong' the id managed to croak giving Alex a look of despair and horror, Alex merely stood there stone cold staring down at his brother. All year he wished to tell him, All year he had been hoarding these emotions. All expected him to keep it together, to keep his little brother in line. Yet, he was tired of it, the weight, the lies, the...the...the...brother betrayal. Be an ADULT, GRow Up, Be a Big Brother"That's a lie. Good people do die." His stone cold face slowly developed into tears fighting the urges to just... Melt down with his brother, to just... Release all this pint of stress that adults wished he'd kept.
His brother soon began to shake his head, Alex could just feel the urgency growing to flee in the room. His little brother wanted to run, wanted to prove him wrong.... Just like he did, just like he wanted.. Till he saw them.. Those dead faces, those... waxed lifeless.. Tears slowly emerged he thought of what THAT PERSON did to them.. To their family. "I'm not Wrong, They're Wrong! All of them are wrong!" Tears began to grow frustration and tendency to grab his brother into a hug growing... if not to protect his brother, than definitely to protect himself. "That man did it! Like all those bad guys on tv, just ended it. Not caring... When we moved here it was to protect us." He resisted the urge to rub his eyes, NO! He won't fall! He won't collapse, this Mountain was strong!
"Juju, those people lied to you.... adults. lie. World isn't happy, world isn't like cartoons. Just there to keep you controlled." He couldn't hold back anymore he began to bawl grabbing to his little brother, "I-i-i protect yo-you." he attempted to say between tears.
They were wrong..the adults were wrong because according to Alex, good people do die. Good people do die because that was what supposedly happened to their parents. A bad man killed their parents because that bad man didn't care. Because bad people never cared, they were evil. There was no other explanations and apparently, they were moved here to be safe. Because if that man killed their parents, what if he went after them? Listlessly, the boy's hand dropped from the handle because...it didn't look like Alex was lying. It didn't look like he was saying something wrong. They've been here for a year. If their parents miss them, then they would have been here by now. If they weren't, it had to be because something was preventing them.[break][break]
As the boy tried to process this, he felt Alex pull him into a hug bawling and telling him about the world. How it was not like cartoons. Not when there was a bad man out there who wasn't caught. The world isn't happy because they were now orphans. Tears ran down his cheeks as the words sank in. It was just them now. No one else. The adults couldn't be trusted because they lied, they lied to him for an entire year. Alex was the one that told him the truth, the one that promised to protect him.[break][break]
Small hands reached up to cling onto his brother, the only family member he had left. Julis gave a weak nod. Alex was his safety. "There's.....there's...a meeting...for parents..and teachers...I...I don't want Monsieur....or Madam...to...go...." because he didn't want them to replace his parents. Not when they lied to him. "Can..can you go?" Alex will go, right? Because Alex was going to protect him. Alex was going to be there for him, right? "I'll...I'll be good..." so don't let anyone replace them. Julius could hardly remember his parents but he won't let anyone replace them!
[newclass=.nologicimg]height:70px;width:70px;padding:15px;background-color:#222222;border-radius:100%;float:left;margin:20px 25px 0px -35px;[/newclass]
The body beneath his hold slowly relaxed turning to him, telling him about a parent meeting... About not wanting to go with the foster family.. About being good. Alex gave a small sigh slowly pulling away from his lil Juju. "I know... you don't want to.. but we have to.. till we're adults." A grin slowly formed, "Then we can get our own place! take the world by storm! Be those heroes on tv, saving lives and taking hearts!" He paused momentarily before giving a small childish laugh, "yes, I'll go with you. Just let them pretend they have us... those Adults let them think they're in control." He hugged his little brother again, before going to pick up the pieces of his little collection.... All the research he has done, he really should.. Have stopped huh? ow that the heavy weight was lifted about lying to his brother.. Things oddly looked, brighter. They can be a team, figure this out together. Work together.
