Chaos is known as the being that never became a star. It is everywhere and yet nowhere at the same time.
Neither good nor evil, the ultimate expression of nothingness. The antithesis of the cosmos, creation itself.
Although Chaos claims to be the very state of existence from which the first entities appeared, it cannot form into the entity it wants most.
So it has been cursed to stay in the form of a dark and shapeless void. Floating between existence and nonexistence.
Longingly watching as stars are constantly born and lives are lived. The seeds of malice had been planted, flourished and transformed Chaos into the purest form of evil.
Today was busy for Oscar, he had to put together back two computers and replace their power supplies. Not only this but someone before had just rung up asking if he could design a website for their new business. He was happy to do these things, however, it took time and Oscar was already backlogged from earlier in the week. So he really couldn't handle any walk-ins today, yet it was the time of year where people seemingly had endless problems with their pcs, laptops, phones, etc and of cause his reputation and price drove a lot of business. In reality he couldn't complain, however, he defiantly felt overwhelmed.
The sound of his phone ringing broke the silence in the apartment, he had just finished installing the second power supply and was about to boot the personal computer up for the first time since he tore it apart. He sighed while reaching behind his back for the phone, grabbing at thin air like a claw machine he finally picked the receiver up, “Oz's Tech Repairs, how can I help?”
His voice wasn't suited for customer service but he tried to act professional. After a few mins he finished off by telling whoever it is on the phone if they came to the shop he'd have a look and give a quote. At the same time he was finishing up rebooting the computer to make sure it was working and just like that he hung up and powered the machine down. Satisfied with the results he unplugged all the chords and filled out the paperwork he kept for himself to keep track of what he was doing.
His apartment was tidy, and one could see various wires and tech laying around with paperwork sprawled all over the place, yet it didn't look messy. It was as if everything was put in place, which it was, Oscar never lost anything at his apartment. Then there was a knock of the door, pushing himself over he opened the door to a male who looked quite clueless. “You were the guy that rang before?”

“I was born to flex, yes~” [break][break] “Diamonds on my neck!” [break][break] In an empty lecture hall was him and his friends, taking advantage of the available place to ‘get work done’. The plan was to meet up and collaborate on any shared assignments but five minutes in, the quiet studying easily turned into a small jam session as popular tracks started playing from one of the student’s phones. [break][break] “I like boardin' jets, I like mornin' se-” [break][break] Bouncing a little too excitedly in his chair to the cranked bass, Quinn carelessly swiveled around and slammed his wrist (decorated with a smartwatch) into the desk of the row above his own. “Ack--!” When retracting his hit hand back towards himself and glancing at his knuckles for damage, a cracked screen drew his attention away from the trivial pain. [break][break] “OMG did you just break that just now? Hah!” The girl seated right at the impact’s location peered over the edge. “Bro, you’ve got the best luck.” [break][break] After a few test taps at the small screen, the detectors and responses still seemed to be operating just fine, although the few cracks that spanned the glass was troublesome in reading the small font. “If only I had any luck in my life...” [break][break] “Lemme forward you the number of a repair guy. A lot of uni students go to him for any quick fixes.” The blond turned his attention to the black haired speaker, lounging casually as she always did. It was always the quiet ones who came in clutch, “You’re a lifesaver Kimmy~” [break][break] [break] One by one, everyone either finished up with the homework that they had or needed to leave for further appointments that evening. The study group was in unison on concluding for the day, and each individual trickled off to their next destination. As to where Quinn was headed to, he did make a call earlier about his watch and pulled up a navigation map which led him to the aforementioned repair shop. [break][break] “A right turn here, then down the block a bit…” And right before him was the red pin marking his destination, or at least that's what his phone had said. Knuckles raised themselves to the wood and rapped on the door. [break][break] It opened at his beckoning and a question was asked, but instead of immediately seeing the fixer upper, the student first saw the backdrop of an apartment littered here and there with technology before glancing lower at his greeter. “Hm? Ah yes!” Right place it was. [break][break] “Yeah, I just cracked the screen on my smartwatch. How it happened was kind of dumb but…” His wrist was brought to his attention once again, looking at the sad sight before realizing that it might've been hard to diagnose the device with it still on him. [break][break] Fingers fiddled with the latch and unfastened the band from his arm, offering it over to the magic maker once taken off. “Think you can fix it up with a replacement or something?”
The person that came forth was but a young lad, he would have been only a few years younger it was just his facial features looked like that of a teenagers still. Oscar examined the kid, he looked harmless and smart...Well that perception was quickly changed with what he said.
“Right, let me have a look.”
Oscar leaned forward and grabbed the watch from the boy who had yet introduced himself, making his way over to the work bench where his tools were located he put the watch under a magnifying scope to have a better look at the finer details. The room was silent during this process, the tension could be cut with a knife but instead it was softened by him sighing.
“The good news is there's no damage.....”
Oscar couldn't put this more blunt, how could you go to a computer repair shop and ask them to fix the screen of a watch. Surely you'd go see a watch maker. Luckily he knew how to fix it, however the parts he needed he didn't keep on hand nor ordered in very often. Considering this wasn't a real tech issue.
“You do know what type of shop this is right?” Oscar felt the need to ask, depending on his answer would depend on how he would break the news to the poor fellow that he wouldn't fix it. After all this wasn't his job description, a phone repair shop or a watch maker was his best bet, but the kid did come out of his way to see him...Oscar did feel a little bad, not everyone was technological savvy, another sigh escaped.
“What's your name kid?”

The fixer upper headed back towards their table of tools, and Quinn took it as an invitation in. Feet stepped neatly into the entry, and hands closed the door behind him in avoidance of bugs. Allowing himself to wander over, the guest watched the master hand at work awaiting a diagnosis. “Yeah, the touch screen seemed to still work fine for me, but the cracks aren’t too attractive.” [break][break] The type of shop he was in? Just a number was given to him through word of mouth, thus there wasn't much information to go off of other than the simple word, “Repair? [break][break] Technology repair? Does… my screen not need that?” A confused smile had fallen onto his complexion. Dealing with electronics was much easier at home with his brother always on standby with a plethora of knowledge. [break][break] That, and Linus had dealt with him enough times to know what service was required without a second word. [break][break] Kid? They didn't look much older than himself, or maybe their face was a more youthful depiction than their true age. Or maybe he was the one with the baby face? It was a possibility since he did end up with more genes from his mother's side… [break][break] But his own confidence aside, introductions were always fun for him. New souls, new names, new friends. “Call me Quinn! And assuming that you're… the owner 'Oz’?” The name guess was just a bit of a shot in the dark based off what bits and pieces of information he was picking up as the afternoon went on. [break][break] Hands stuffed themselves in pockets and heels rocked back and forth, “Sooo, based on some suspicions from your previous question… There's not anything that you can do for my watch?”
Quinn didn't seem stupid just rather....Oblivious? Yes that was the word Oscar was thinking of as he spoke about what he thought the shop did. He was right in a sense but repairing a cracked screen on a smartwatch really wasn't what his services entailed. Oscar did feel bad for him though, he didn't seem like a bad person. He sighed and nodded.
“Yeah, I am Oz.”
Another sigh escaped his lips as he deducted what he was going to say, the cost of doing these screens were by no means cheap and could this student (or well Oscar assumed he was a student) really afford it? “Normally I don't do these type of jobs, however, I do know how to replace the glass screen.”
He stopped for a moment and opened a small laptop. His head ducked down for a bit as the sound of the mechanical keyboard clattered away as he started searching prices out from the internet on the specific part he was looking for. “I can fix, I need the part though and sadly they don't come too cheap.”
Oscar turned the laptop around so Quinn could see the screen, various tabs were open on chrome in which he scrolled through showing the prices from forty-five pound to sixty pound for the more expensive thick glass that wouldn't crack so easy. “After ordering the parts, and paying for my repair fee it'll be eighty pound or so, that is a rough estimate of course it could be a little more or perhaps a little less.”
Oscar felt bad charging so much for a piece of glass but the economy wasn't the greatest and these type of intricate repairs and the parts themselves felt bad. “Well?”

A correctly guessed name, look at him go~ [break][break] Although at this time and age, technology still did have its expenses and keeping up with it was a financial feat in itself. Quinn stepped closer and bent forward a bit to get a better look at the small list of prices scrolling by on the screen. Bold font making the numbers easy to see as they browsed, the cost wasn't the easiest. [break][break] “Around eighty pounds you say?” He turned a few numbers in his head to convert the amount into the currency he could better gauge with. Dollars was what he had worked with for his whole life, and it would be around a hundred dollars that he'd have to drop for this repair. “Mmm… The repair really isn't cheap, huh?” [break][break] Mulling over the decision just a short while more, he'd come to the conclusion to commit. The watch was still pretty new, and buying the next series would've been a greater dent in his wallet. The estimated cost was manageable with what he's earned, and it would be just a small loss that he'd take for now. “If it isn’t too much trouble for you… I'd still like to have the screen fixed instead of looking at that sad cracked glass every time I check the time. [break][break] “It does look like that there's a lot of replacement options listed there though. Got any suggestions? Maybe something that wont break after hitting a wall or something?” [break][break] Cause that's totally not how his current predicament developed.
There were indeed plenty of options to choose from but just like anything the cheaper the product was the greater chance of it being manufactured poorly. Computer parts were the epitome of this, sure you could buy a $20 power supply but it will fry the system within months, that's why Oscar had to recommend the more expensive options, it wasn't for his own pocket but because the quality would be much better.
“You're not going to like the answer, but this one...” He clicked on the third item on the list so that the picture enlarged. A sigh escaped Oscar's mouth as he tried to calculate a fair price that he could give to Quinn.
“Tell me Quinn, you're in school still right?”
The question was asked because Oscar had an idea, perhaps he could organize a payment plan or for Quinn to come and help on the weekends to pay some of the cost off with labor. He didn't need the help but anything to make his job easier was always a nice treat.
“I tell you what, I'll do it for forty pounds however you'll need to do something for me...You free Sunday?”
Oscar smiled as he watched the boys reaction, “You'll be helping around here for the next two Sundays if you want me to do this.”

A high number, but often that mean high quality too, right? He wasn't about to drop half a hundred bucks on a glass that would break right when he wanted to jam out in a lecture room again, at least. With the amount of savings that would be going into this fix, that meant that he'd need to frequent the bars a little less or pick up some extra shifts to cover the hole… [break][break] “Yup! Second year and abroad~ Is it obvious with the appearances or the demographic of your customers?” Or maybe it was similar to the common saying in the States of poor college students that had them asking? [break][break] The offer of forty pounds did draw his attention, a number that was half of what was originally estimated. But with a deal like that, Quinn did keep his ears tuned in to see what the catch was. “Sunday?” Two of them, which meant around 20 pounds per day that he came in for. [break][break] It wasn't too bad of a negotiation so long that he wouldn't be given too long or exhausting projects, but what could go wrong at a simple repair shop? Technology wasn't his niche either, but the internet had databases of solutions with a simple search, didn't it? “I'm down for the offer! Though that also means that I'll be getting the best glass replacement, right~?” [break][break] An inquiring smile of his own was given to the technologist.
“Yeah this glass is more sturdy then normal, does the same thing as any other but is structurally stronger. A simple bang against a wall or you dropping it on the ground wont cause it to shatter.” He placed an order for the part but also brought some extra for future customers, it was a good idea to venture into screen repairs even though it was below his skill levels the potential profits could outweigh the tedious work.
“Sunday is the least busiest day, I normally do paperwork that day. It's just that I am behind and the place is getting a bit messy. I could use the extra hand, nothing to hard it's just mobility isn't my strong suite and I don't get everything done in time.”
Did he really need to explain himself? Oscar did feel like he needed to not for pity but so Quinn understood the situation and what he was going to do, after all he was literally working so he didn't have to pay the full price of the repair. “If you want to take the deal I'll see you Sunday, if not I'd recommend a analog.”

Wall proof? Perfect. [break][break] As more details of his work were foreshadowed, Quinn straightened his posture back up and turned his attention away from the worker and to the backdrop. He thought the appearance of scatter tools and electronic sections was to look the part of the occupation. Thank goodness the clutter was just temporary as he’d soon be putting his organization impulses to work on it (maybe). [break][break] “Well, I can give you two extra hands for the next two weeks! Does that make four extra hands in total?” He peered back to his new temporary employee, and the chipper expression twisted to reflect the small debate that started in his head at the mention of an old fashioned watch. “Mmm, they are fashionable for nice events, but they can’t beat the many functions that bad boy has been blessing me with on a daily basis,” a hand pointing to what once was a clear screen. [break][break] A single clap of conclusion came from his hands, “So next two Sundays, here at this location, text me the deets as the day gets closer?” A wrist was flicked up towards his face but instead of looking down at the time, all he saw was his blank skin. Habits die hard? [break][break] Quite the embarrassing gesture, Quinn tried to brush the moment off with a quirky smile and his hand reaching back down his pockets to pull out his phone. White numbers popping up at the top of the wakened screen, “I should be getting back to campus soon, but I can leave the watch here with you. Fix her up real good, will ya?” [break][break] Feet wandered themselves back to the front door but before they stepped through and out the entryway, the blond swiveled on his heels with a wave, “See you this weekend~”
Quinn seemed rather eager to help, was this because he was a good kid or rather was Quinn just excited to not pay full price? Either way it didn't really matter Oscar was just thrilled to have an extra pair of hands to do some of the jobs that never really got done as often as he did such as cleaning the dishes in the kitchen by hand instead of using the dishwasher. Oscar smiled because Quinn must of assume he was going to just help around the shop, do some dusting but what Oz had really enlisted the help of the student for was more akin to maid services, of cause he wasn't going to tell him that...Not yet anyway.
“Sure leave it here and yeah just message me in the morning when your on the way.” Quinn departed and said his goodbyes and Oscar decided to close up and relax for the rest of the late afternoon, he thought about Quinn and how carefree he seemed, it was a good attitude and Oscar knew he would enjoy having him around but he wondered if Quinn was this clueless when it came to a broken screen could he actual be trusted to do any work involving his more expensive components? Only time would tell...
