Chaos is known as the being that never became a star. It is everywhere and yet nowhere at the same time.
Neither good nor evil, the ultimate expression of nothingness. The antithesis of the cosmos, creation itself.
Although Chaos claims to be the very state of existence from which the first entities appeared, it cannot form into the entity it wants most.
So it has been cursed to stay in the form of a dark and shapeless void. Floating between existence and nonexistence.
Longingly watching as stars are constantly born and lives are lived. The seeds of malice had been planted, flourished and transformed Chaos into the purest form of evil.
[attr="class","nologicpost1"] After Oscar had shown Julius that forum post, the prosecutor had decided to investigate more on the site. Honestly, it had been quite an adventure as he had never cared for forum boards or chat platforms. They had never been anything of importance for someone who was essentially a recluse. The forum talked more than a just strange phenomenon, it also talked about the latest movies, politics, rumors on stars and so on. The forum was rather overwhelming, to say the least, but Julius soon started to sort them in his mind by their titles.[break][break]
Which was why he was here now...this was the latest rumor and somehow it didn't surprise him that it was in Lourve. This was the arrondissement that was visited and cared for the least, a perfect place for corrupted or youmas to hide out simply because more people would not care. In truth, even Julius avoided coming here and had done quite a good job of it until now. His black coat, turtleneck, and black pants were something that should had fitted in but...glancing at some of the people Julius had spotted, their clothes quite covered in dust that even black had turned to brown. Julius can only hope that he will not stay here for too long.[break][break]
Pale hands in his pocket, the male headed into a decrepit building. There was supposed to be a building that was supposedly haunted...where some had apparently heard voices, disappeared and when the came back they had no memories left. Again, it could very well be some horror stories and months ago, Julius would have thought exactly that. However, it could also be a possibility of a youma or something more. Perhaps even a kidnap case...although Julius was not sure what there was to gain from this.[break][break]
The prosecutor stood still waiting for any voices to come...but there didn't seem to be any. Should..should he just leave or should he stay here longer? He had the day off today so it wasn't like his work as a prosecutor would be affected. The male bit his lips in contemplation when he heard footsteps. "Who's there?" the magus asked as he turned around.
[newclass=.nologicimg]height:70px;width:70px;padding:15px;background-color:#222222;border-radius:100%;float:left;margin:20px 25px 0px -35px;[/newclass]
[attr="class","gamelyrics"]When your dreams all fail And the ones we hail Are the worst of all And the blood’s run stale
[attr="class","gamebody"]It was a run-down building locked in a broken down landscape. Fingers brushed against the rotting walls taking in the small stale stench that lay deep in the air. She had heard the whispers, the rumors that were starting to grow about this place. They spoke about victims being snatched from this current time only to be returned with no inkling as to what had happened.[break] The soft clicking of her boots against the wood was the only sound that greeted her as Noire dived deeper into the building. The stories told that this place was haunted, truth be told it was. The spirits of others who had been taken from this world tended to hang out in places like this. Why would they go to the world of New Paris when they could find a beautiful home like this?[break] One that wasn't watched or cared for, which drew victims like moths to a flame. Noire allowed herself to hum ever so slightly a soothing tune that could only be translated into a lullaby of sorts. It always calmed her when she needed it. Slim fingers rose upward to touch upon the long strands that sprawled themselves over the front of her shoulders. They were silk to the touch as she tucked a few behind her left ear. [break] Much like this dirty world Noire made sure to dress the part. No point in making herself stand out was there? Draped in the abyss colored fabric she knew that being covered from head to toe in her long sleeve shirt, black pants, and trench coat helped keep people from staring. [break] Who's there?[break] The voice of another broke her so-called peace and told Noire she wasn't alone. Her body stiffened and she turned toward the direction debating if she should make herself known. People wouldn't recognize her not with the way she looked today. With her usually pink hair dyed a bright blue color, eyes that usually shined with a green tint were covered by black contacts. Taking a risk that she could end up in some kind of situation Noire flipped the mental coin and followed the result.[break] Stepping fully out of the shadows Noire came to rest in the path of Julius. Eyes scanning his features and attire before allowing her lips to curve into a small smirk. "Well hello there...." slim fingers slipped in her trench coat pockets. "Come to visit the haunted house also?"
[attr="class","nologicpost1"] From the shadows cast by the walls of the decrepit building came a figure that Julius was unsure if it was male or female. The black trenchcoat creating quite a disguise, long blue hair reading past their shoulders and black eyes. Just as he was examining the person in front of him, they were doing the same with him before a smirk played upon their lips. The male's back straightened, ready to spring into action should he need it even though he honestly hoped that he wouldn't. Their gloved hands reached into their pockets and Julius took a step back in case it was a weapon.[break][break]
"What do you...know about it?" he asked, gray eyes narrowed. He couldn't use his magic, not yet. Not when there was a chance where he could just run. Although this area was unfamiliar territory for the prosecutor and there was always the chance that this person wasn't alone. In other words, Julius was at a disadvantage compared to this person. He could not tell anything about them, not even their voice with how it was obviously modified with a static sound to it. In the back of his mind, he can already hear a certain police complaining to Julius that he was biting off more than he can chew once again.[break][break]
In his defense, he would like to think he can handle a normal human with his powers. The price to do such a thing though...well it might just be a bit too hefty. "What are you...even doing..here?" he asked his eyes always on this person in case they pulled something.
[newclass=.nologicimg]height:70px;width:70px;padding:15px;background-color:#222222;border-radius:100%;float:left;margin:20px 25px 0px -35px;[/newclass]
[attr="class","gamelyrics"]When your dreams all fail And the ones we hail Are the worst of all And the blood’s run stale
[attr="class","gamebody"]One could say that their meeting looked like a cat and mouse game. Each one sizing up the other for some kind of threat. Who would attack first? Who would step into the other's personal space to do them harm? To much work for Noire to even care about such a thing. [break] Eyes shifted to down to the others feet watching as he took a cautious step back from her. That smirk stayed on her face as he came to ask what she knew. It would be rather easy to explain what was going on but what would be the fun in such a thing? Slowly her head tilted to the left allowing for the bright blue strands to slide in that direction. "About the haunted house?" her tongue clicked on the roof of her tongue before she straightened herself.[break] "Well if you want to know the history of haunted houses that is rather easy. I mean don't they usually have some kind of ghost attached to it?" eyes lingered on his figure before they shifted away moving to take in the scene around them. "Of course you would have to really believe in the whole ghost thing." she muttered the last part but it could still be heard.[break] With a shrug to his question, she wasn't about ready to let what she was truly doing here be known. It wasn't as if this was her best friend that she was talking to, not that she had a best friend, or friend either. "Mhmm...what am I doing here?" eyes shifted back to him once more as her finger rose to tap against the curve of her chin. "Think of me like a ghostbuster? What are you doing here Mister Mister?"
[attr="class","nologicpost1"] The sarcasm was not very amusing...not the small biting muttered retort. "You don't...know me..." he told the person. In truth, he was rather open to the idea of ghosts...to an extent..maybe. Let's just say it was a possibility with magic in the works and the skeletons he faced last month. However, he has yet to see these ghosts to really confirm their existence. Besides...if ghosts were real...then was it possible for him to...no. He couldn't entertain that idea right now.[break][break]
The prosecutor arched a brow, ghostbuster? Like those old movies, he had watched back when he lived with the policeman? That was...rather strange. Was the person joking? They had to be joking...he doubted they actually exist. Not even in a world where Merlin was apparently real, would Julius believe humans can suck in ghosts with a vacuum. Magic can only extend so far. Besides, wasn't Ghost Buster more of science anyway? Supernatural science but science nonetheless, there wasn't anything magical about vacuums.[break][break]
For a moment, he wondered if he should give out his name. Most likely not, even if he doubted anyone would recognize him. "Connor..." he decided that name after some contemplation, gray eyes more focused on the hands in the pockets than those black eyes. "And I'm...investigating...the rumors...of the missing...people...due to these...ghosts..." or so the rumor has hinted at. The male shook his head, "your services...aren't needed here...it's dangerous." he told the other. If they meant no harm, then he should remove them from the area should the rumors actually be true. "You know the...way out...right?" he asked with an arched brow. Hopefully, they did as they did walk here and even in a decrepit building, Julius doubted one can really get lost.
[newclass=.nologicimg]height:70px;width:70px;padding:15px;background-color:#222222;border-radius:100%;float:left;margin:20px 25px 0px -35px;[/newclass]
[attr="class","gamelyrics"]When your dreams all fail And the ones we hail Are the worst of all And the blood’s run stale
[attr="class","gamebody"]Noire didn't bother to hide the outright smile that caused her lips to stretch fully on her face. It seemed that she chose of words didn't sit well with the other if he responded with the well-known sentence of "you don't know me". Judging by the way he spoke she had a feeling it was rather hard to understand when he did speak, at least understand him in a deeper level. Most people she knew always had some kind of edge to their response when someone pushed a button.[break] "Very true." was her only response as she all but brushed aside his words as if they meant nothing. Noire wondered if he had gotten the reference that she had used. Movies from the old were always fun to explore, after all, it was the only thing she could do when she was younger to drown out the world around her.[break] "Introductions, how nice. Conner? Mhmm...my name is Ava. A pleasure I am sure." noticing where his eyes seemed to be lingering Noire couldn't help the soft chuckle that escaped her lips.[break] She should have known that her stance would be a big no-no when it came to this part of the neighborhood. Slowly as if not to startle the other she pulled her hands free from the pockets. Lifting them out in front of her palms up to show that she didn't have anything in them. [break] So the rumor had gotten so big that people came to investigate it now? How interesting truth be told. "Ohh an investigation. How very exciting!" keeping that cheerful expression on her face Noire ignored his little warning without a second thought.[break] She couldn't back out now! The coin had been flipped and fate had given her this lovely little path to take. "Nah. I think I will stay." another smirk as those black orbs landed on his facial features. "Since this happens to be a free world, don't mind if I tag along yes?" while she posed it as a question one could tell.[break] Noire was going to do whatever she wished.
[attr="class","nologicpost1"] Ava, Julius gave a nod to the name. Judging by the name, the person must have been a girl then, not that it really told him anything much about her. "Under...different...circumstances...perhaps..." the prosecutor stated although he doubted they would have met in any other circumstances. Those who live here do not often have enough money to buy anything in the inner parts of the city and Julius rarely ever had any reason to come out here. [break][break]
Ava slowly lifted her hand from her pocket and it was only the speed of the movement that kept the magus still. No weapon, she was not someone dangerous, that was good to know. Julius gave a nod slightly relaxing his body and letting go of the tension. The last thing he needed was for there to be a youma and fight both her and a youma. Then again, even if she posed a threat to him and was a criminal, Julius knew that he would still have protected Ava nonetheless. Death by youma was not justice being served, only a human can judge another human.[break][break]
The two-toned haired male tilted his head looking at Ava from a slightly new angle as the girl (or was she a woman?) cheerfully declared her excitement. "It's dangerous," he practically hissed at the blue-haired female, gray eyes narrowed. Could she not understand that? Was she one of those adrenaline junkies?[break][break]
Whatever Ava was, she had decided to follow him and really, it wasn't like Julius could force her to leave. The building was big and with more than on opening. The woman (girl? just how old was she?) could very well come back inside without a care in the world. So yes...he did mind her tagging along but he couldn't exactly do anything about it.[break][break]
Julius let out a small sigh before giving a nod. If she was going to stay here, then being close to him would be better. He can keep an eye on her that way, "stay close," he instructed even if, in the back of his mind, he doubted she would listen. He would just have to keep a close eye on her more than anything. [break][break]
With that, the male started to walk deeper into the building where there was less light...which could be a problem. At least he could still see but should a youma attack them...just in case Julius walked over to a nearby window and tried to open it. Jammed...great..."do you...see anything...we can..use?" Julius asked his female companion.
[newclass=.nologicimg]height:70px;width:70px;padding:15px;background-color:#222222;border-radius:100%;float:left;margin:20px 25px 0px -35px;[/newclass]
[attr="class","gamelyrics"]When your dreams all fail And the ones we hail Are the worst of all And the blood’s run stale
[attr="class","gamebody"]A slim brow rose at this response. It seemed as though he didn't understand the true pleasure that came with meeting her. Oh well, he would learn as the night went on.[break] Connor sounded as though he hissed out the next set of words. Those eyes narrowing on her figure and Noire couldn't help the smile that crept up her face. If it wasn't so dark she wondered if his eyes would be sparking much like a firecracker? "Oh my. Are you terribly worried for little old me?" her voice dipped and twisted to show that she found the idea to be rather adorable in such a thing.[break] Noire didn't think he really cared, after all, people never cared about others. At least from the world, she grew up in. When it seemed he figured out that she wasn't leaving Noire moved her hands allowing them to come together in a soft clap; once, twice before they ended. [break] "Wonderful~" the word was sung as she watched him turn into the building and start the process of walking. Arms shifted to lay behind her back as she intertwined her fingers together. "See something? Do ghost usually show themselves?" a chuckle was heard as her eyes shifted from his figure. The soft whispers flowed through the air as they moved forward.[break] It wasn't hard to hear the tones of the dead as they shifted around the building. What people believed to be the "old bones" of the house, Noire tended to hear things differently. After all, when the one trinket tied to your person was a soul-sucking object one tended to know. But why tell him that?[break] "Sooooo do you believe the rumors? The one that said it was haunted? That the souls of the dead have come back to whisk their victims away?" moving from near him Noire reached out lightly touching the broken picture frame that still hung on the wall. Her fingers skimmed the rotten wood as those bright eyes moved to land on Julius once more.
[attr="class","nologicpost1"] The question was asked with her voice dipping a few octaves. Julius merely blinked tilting his head to look at her as if asking why she would bother to ask such a question. Wasn't it only natural for human beings to be concerned for one another? If they did not have such traits, then they were simply not human. Nonetheless, after a moment of looking into her black eyes, the prosecutor gave a nod. [break][break]
Despite the potential danger, Ava asked if he saw something followed by a chuckle. Obviously, she was not treating this situation with the gravity it deserved. In a horror movie, she would be the first to die. He can only hope such a thing will not occur...well they were just movies anyway. The male merely kept quiet as they continued to walk, eyes looking around trying to spot anything that might be concerning. So far, there didn't seem to be a sign of any ghosts. That was good to know, even if it meant that this trip might end up being for nothing, it would also mean that this area was safe for now. Of course, one cannot be too cautious and the two have not exactly gone very deep into the building just yet.[break][break]
Only enough for the hallways to start becoming dark due to the closed windows and shades. He tried opening a window in order to welcome some more light into the building but it was to no avail. He almost wished the inner sections of the building was as weak as the outer ones. He asked his companion if she saw anything they can use...hopefully something to push this jammed window. She didn't exactly bother to answer him and instead merely asked him a different question.[break][break]
Julius tilted his head for a moment in contemplation before using his elbow to break the window to bring some light in and as a possible escape. If there was a youma here, he can use his barrier to close this window exit from them. "It's...possible." That was why he was here to investigate..however...did he actually believe in it? "But...unlikely. If ghosts...can exist..." he gave a small pause carefully choosing his next words, "There are...unfortunate..implications." Such as the fact that they did not indeed go to a better place and if that was the case...then were his parents still suffering? And for people to still haunt and kill others even in their death..."but if...such spirits exist...I'll eliminate them." After all, seeing as how many supernatural things seems to be youmas, Julius was sure his magic can combat ghosts. It was his duty working for not only the people but also as a magus to handle such things.[break][break]
"Do you...believe...in ghosts?" If she called herself a ghostbuster, that would imply she believed in ghosts right? Then again, the fact that she was chasing this rumor at least said she believed in the possibility of there being one.
[newclass=.nologicimg]height:70px;width:70px;padding:15px;background-color:#222222;border-radius:100%;float:left;margin:20px 25px 0px -35px;[/newclass]
[attr="class","gamelyrics"]When your dreams all fail And the ones we hail Are the worst of all And the blood’s run stale
[attr="class","gamebody"]
Throughout the time in this world Noire got to talking to a lot of people. From all different kinds of paths whose end games would always differ from another. So people who believed yet didn't were the norm. If one didn't see the ghosts that lingered in this world how were they to know they were there? Horror movies, television shows all told the stories of ghost but in such a mundane way it was hard to even believe in them. "You would think so yes?" her tongue clicked at the end.[break] "Though that is not true my dear Connor. One doesn't have to die a horrible death or in such an unfortunate way for them to linger. You would be surprised just who is lying around and for what reason." that smirk was back in place yet this time around it didn't reach her eyes. Those black orbs stared at him in such an inhuman way it was hard to picture her as something living and breathing.[break] Noire had a pulse. She checked daily. Eliminate them? Well, she couldn't allow that. The female had to eat them before he could figure out a way to zap them from this plane. She wasn't about ready to go hungry because he felt some kind of justice in hunting down ghosts.[break] Moving away from him Noire traveled down the hallway her feet making a small clicking noise on the floor. As she moved the space grew colder, the moans grew louder and she allowed her lips to curve into a full-blown smile. "Do I believe?" her voice echoed the question as she came to a sudden halt before a closed room.[break] Quickly spinning on her heel those unreal eyes locked on his figure once more. "I dare say I do. But before you go and "eliminate" them as you say. How about you let me handle them yes? My way is just a tad bit more...fun." It was hard to say if he would allow her to step up but she could try at least. Lifting a hand up she tapped her index finger against the closed door. "We should check in here I believe, do you wish to go in first?"
[attr="class","nologicpost1"] An answer that wasn't exactly an answer. Julius will just have to take it as an affirmation for now. The next set of words were followed by a reappearance of Ava's smirk. She spoke with the confidence that can only be gained with wisdom. Either she was an exorcist of sorts (Julius was unsure of how to feel about the fact that such a thing was a possibility for him) or she was out of her mind. Yet, the smirk did not reach her eyes giving her a rather uncanny appearance, it reminded Julius of a serial killer or someone possessed by a spirit in the horror movies his friends would take him out to see during Halloween when he was younger. [break][break]
The prosecutor elected to not say anything and merely continued down the hallway. Ava soon sped her steps and went in front of him, the area feeling colder and that was when he heard it. The sound of moans startling the male to stop in his steps and look around in an attempt to pinpoint the sound. Julius opened his mouth ready to question his companion when the woman echoed his question grabbing his attention and drawing his eyes towards her. The blue haired female spun on her heels and on her face was a whole blown smile. Julius was unsure if she was enjoying it despite the danger or she was simply oblivious to it. Her hand tapped on the door and Julius gave her a hard look. He can still hear the moans but he wasn't sure where it was. Just like her voice previously, it felt as if it was coming from the entire building.[break][break]
Was there a youma that was interfering with his hearing? Julius had half a mind to grab Ava by her hand and drag her out of the building. He can try to investigate another day by himself but he was unsure of when he would have this amount of free time and who could get hurt during that time. The male bit his lips in contemplation before resigning to his current fate. He was already here, "stay close," he reminded Ava as he approached the door to enter it himself. It was dark and if the door was closed, Julius was unsure if he could use his powers. Well...maybe he could...he had tried it a few times before. However, he was too uncertain about to use it in a real situation.[break][break]
The male entered the room, "keep it open," he instructed her as his boots echoed within the room. The moans sounded like they were getting louder and Julius couldn't help but slightly wince. "Do you..hear that?" he asked looking around but unable to see anything that was out of place. Yet the cold sensation, the moans, it all felt so wrong.
[newclass=.nologicimg]height:70px;width:70px;padding:15px;background-color:#222222;border-radius:100%;float:left;margin:20px 25px 0px -35px;[/newclass]

[attr="class","gamebody"]
Noire hadn't seen the other pause in his pursuit if she did it wouldn't be hard to tell that he heard their cries. It was unsure if other people could hear what she heard but it was obvious that he could. Instead, she watched him now waiting for him to decide if he was going to be the first to enter into the unknown. stay close however sweet. [break] Head slowly tilting to the side the strands of blue hair shifting over her flesh to cover the accessories that she wore on a daily basis. "Of course!" she wouldn't but it was sweet of him none the less. Stepping back slightly to allow him room to enter the door Noire watched him closely looking for any signs that he was someone who happens to hear. [break] She did as she was instructed moved so that she could place her booted foot by the door. She would keep it open for as long as he needed for she was helping after all. Leaning back against the wooden door Noire's stare was fixated on her companion watching as he looked around for something that was always unseen by the naked eye. [break] She flipped another mental coin before she chose to open her mouth and speak to him once more. "Hear what?" A small brow rose upward to give him a questioning stare as the sounds grew louder, and the room's temperature slowly decreased again. If it went down any further it would only be a matter of time before one could see the very breath they breathed. Noire was going to see how long she could fake the obivous before the spell was broken and her time was up. "Would you care to describe it for me? Not sure I know what it is you are hearing my dear friend~"
[attr="class","nologicpost1"] The moans...it won't stop but there didn't seem to be anything there. No lurkng figures, no eyes but yet everything was telling Julius that there were at least three people in this very room. Possibly even more. Youma? This had to be a youma or a spirit. Spirit youma? It didn't matter...it needed to be rid of. Making sure, Julius asked his companion if she heard the moans while his eyes watched to see if any chill ran her spine. The room was getting colder but neither of them shivered due to their outerwear. Ava didn't look affected at all taking a moment possibly to try to listen in on something only to say that she didn't.[break][break]
But something was here.[break][break]
And if Ava couldn't sense it then...Julius hurried walked up the stairs to where the girl was holding the door. A pale hand reached out and pushed her out before slamming the door shut. Just to make sure, Julius took out his phone emitting light into the dark room before locking the door.[break][break]
Whatever this was that was causing the room to get colder was here and Julius couldn't endanger Ava. However, with what little light head, Julius was unsure if he can truly fight. "Where...are they?" he asked almost feeling foolish for talking to what seemed to be thin air. The only thing he heard in return was a wail that grew to make the prosecutor drop his phone to ensure there would still be a light source and cover his ears.[break][break]
note: so that happened. tell me if you want and edits.
[newclass=.nologicimg]height:70px;width:70px;padding:15px;background-color:#222222;border-radius:100%;float:left;margin:20px 25px 0px -35px;[/newclass]
[attr="class","gamelyrics"]When your dreams all fail And the ones we hail Are the worst of all And the blood’s run stale
[attr="class","gamebody"]
There were many different scenarios that she ran through her head when she had replied the way she did. She had thought that he would have described what he was hearing to her. Maybe he would play dumb and believe himself to be not hearing anything at all. The one she had been leaning toward was that he would turn on his heel and leave her to deal with whatever was near them.[break] What she didn't think would happen was what he did. A look of pure surprise snaked across her features when he appeared before her hand reaching out to give her body a push. She stumbled backward away from the doorway and the room completely. Before she could even think let alone figure out what he was doing she was shut out.[break] Click the lock was turned. Now she was locked out.[break] Not that she couldn't break the lock with a small prick of her own crimson liquid. Instead, Noire shook her head slightly as if to clear it from the shock that he had given her. Clicking her tongue Noire leaned forward placing her ear against the door so she could hear what was going on. "Monsieur?" a hand rose up to lightly tap against the wood. "Is everything alright in there?" The wailing grew louder as a thud was briefly heard. Did he fall? She dared hope he wouldn't have there would be no fun without it. Pulling back she felt herself give way to a sigh of her own. This wouldn't do. She could very well have him in there alone having fun by himself. "Monsieur, shouldn't you open the door? I am sure we can work together to ease whatever issue you are having."
[attr="class","nologicpost1"] Julius can hear Ava's voice over the wails even if it was muffled by the door. She was asking for him but he had kept quiet and instead tried to focus on the youma or spirit (he still was not sure what it was). He needed to know what did it do with the people. Were there at least bodies to find in order to give their close ones closure? However, the wailing had only gotten louder and the prosecutor dropped his phone. Thankfully the screen was not cracked and Julius covered his ears.[break][break]
It was harder to hear Ava. He was able to hear her voice but he couldn't exactly make out the words. She was most likely worried about him. "Go!" he shouted hoping that would make her leave as his eyes darted around trying to find any hint of this mysterious entity. That was when he saw it...or something. It wasn't as if there was a form but there was something unnatural...almost like a wisp.[break][break]
Julius summoned his bow and shot at the wisp of smoke and there was a small moment of silence. The wisp didn't exactly take a form and instead had merely wrapped itself around his arrow. Gray eyes narrowed slightly thankful the wails were gone but also uncertain. He can only hope it would not come back with a vengeance. "Ava?" he asked before the spirit tried to lift the arrow. Julius merely dispelled the arrow before the ghost can throw it back at him.[break][break]
Did he even hurt it? More importantly..was Ava gone? He can only hope so for both.
