Chaos is known as the being that never became a star. It is everywhere and yet nowhere at the same time.
Neither good nor evil, the ultimate expression of nothingness. The antithesis of the cosmos, creation itself.
Although Chaos claims to be the very state of existence from which the first entities appeared, it cannot form into the entity it wants most.
So it has been cursed to stay in the form of a dark and shapeless void. Floating between existence and nonexistence.
Longingly watching as stars are constantly born and lives are lived. The seeds of malice had been planted, flourished and transformed Chaos into the purest form of evil.
"Ugh!" the large bald male grunted as he fell hard on his back, flesh chasing with asphalt and blood trailing the descent of his face. A broken nose was the culprit, and Marius' fist the cause. Once again, the red-haired male had found himself plagued by the spirit of trouble, a rather common occurrence to the local, to the point where the red-head was starting to entertain the idea that he actually carried two different spirits inside of him. One, the vengeful spirit of fire, Ifrit. And the other, well, just trouble itself. Marius sighed as golden eyes moved from the male that rolled across the wet floor of the alley, hands clutching at his face to try and nurse his bleeding feature. One other stood their ground, this one more to Marius' size, and actually held hair on his scalp. And he didn't look all too pleased with the treatment his 'ride-or-die' brother had received from the cage fighter. "Why you--" was his cry of battle as he charged right at the vessel.
Against such common rabble, Marius saw no need to tap onto the power gifted - or cursed - onto him by the Ifrit. He had lived and survived in these slums long enough to know how to take care of himself, and even more so with the experienced he had built up from participating in New Paris' underground cage fights. The right hand that was thrown at him was two-dimensional. So plain and haphazard. With relative ease, Marius would slide his right foot forward, resting his weight upon said leg as he twisted his body. Tilting his head back, he would allow the fist to slice through the air past his person, resulting in him being positioned inside his arm.
And Marius would throw an effective counter, his own right hand snapping upwards to slam his hardened knuckles right into the man's solar plexus.
The impact was enough to knock the very air out of the man's lungs, as he folded over Marius' fist, his eyes widening. Saliva splattered from his parted lips, embodying the air that was forced out from his person. His body went limp, and he slowly slid off Marius' arm, crumpling to the ground, huddled up with his arms over his stomach as he tried to catch his breath. Really? One hit? Marius glanced down at the male, a disapproving and disappointing gaze cast upon his latest prey, only to sharpen as he heard the footsteps of another. From behind.
Chin snapped towards his shoulder, and he glanced backwards to place a peculiar white-haired male within his peripherals. His eyes would narrow in focus, as he straightened his posture. "Another one, huh?"
After Halloween the air around New paris felt different, he didn't know how to quite explain it.. Like something was sitting watching from the shadows in complete anticipation. Could there be things much much worst than what had attacked that night. This.. Sense of imprisonment... Made him avoid schoolwork, calling in at work, and now running in complete night cool air... Building to building street to street.. Absolutely not paying any attention to anything.
Soon he lost his way at the Old Paris district, where the slums were located. Here he found himself finding a large noise, his curiosity peeking following where the noise originated to find a large redhead covered in blood, being attacked by... Couple fellows, e stood heart pounding to join the fight, only for a whisper echoed in his mind. "wait.... there's more.." The voice had grown to the point of communication, still he foolishly convinced himself it was him this voice originated from. The voice seemed to have some sort of silky cool-air about it, slowing his movements to help this stranger out, his red eyes wide as the male at ease fought them all off... "completely obliterated..." voice whispered, growing excited.. "we should... challenge him... be the top dog..."
The idea made his heart pound, what challenge? Top dog? Why would he want to be top dog here? "its easy... freedom.. punches... complete focus... sweat, strength..." it came again feeling of rush flowing through him, causing his fingers to shiver. He got into fights all the time in the past, how was this one any different? He felt a slight shiver of approval, yes this was a type of release... Get far away that disillusion something worst was coming, the worst before the storm... He felt his heart pound agreeing with the voice, challenge him. Be top dog of the area... proclaim ownership. Before he knew a small sickly darkness filled his body as he embraced the magic flowing through him, stepping from the shadows.
His outfit a black jacket keeping the small soft cool rain from landing on his body, his pants rather simple bluejeans, followed by his criss-cross necklace. Where was his soul piece? Why in his pocket tucked safely away. His red eyes shined as he came into view, white-hair reflecting the moon's light reflecting light. A grin sharper than normal crossed his face, "Looks like, battles never cease far from the pig's home, do they?" The voice coming off slight mockery, body moving forward for a punch embracing this strong urge to forget the world around him.
Like a prey that had been stalked by a predator, Marius' senses screamed caution the moment the third arrival started his approach. Alerting him. Warning him. Marius' eyes widened slightly. This odd sensation. He had only felt it a handful of times before, and majority of those times, it had been against those crazy agents of chaos attempting to kill him. Was this another one? His lips curled into a deep frown, as he clenched his right fist. Forget the two behind him. This one was the biggest threat, even if he didn't look as menacing as they did. Marius would turn his footing appropriately, just enough for him to completely face Signus. It wasn't often that Marius was made to tap into the vengeful spirit that existed within him, but he wasn't so foolish as to not do so when faced with a more... Mystical threat.
"Tch," came his only reply to Signus' taunt, and the man's body lurched forward for an attack. A punch was thrown, and Marius blinked in momentary confusion. There didn't seem to be anything out of the ordinary, and it only made the red-haired male even more curious. He gritted his teeth, knowing that he'd have to be extra careful for this bout.
With that said, he would slide his left leg back, and throw his weight upon it, lifting his right up to his toes. His left hand snapped forward, fingers outstretched and palm wide, as he attempted to catch the impact of the fist. He loosened his elbows, allowing it to cushion the blow, and only tightened his arm as soon as the initial blunt was mitigated. He curled his fingers in tightly, pads digging into his skin, his right arm positioning itself then by his body.
And came his counter, as he snapped the poised right foot inwards, swinging it out and back in by pivoting around his knee, as he slammed his shin against the side of Signus' leading leg. As long as the man proved himself incapable of using any form of 'magic', then neither would Marius. It would be cruel to unleash the flame on someone that he could have just been mistakenly paranoid about.
The male before him seemed to change position "growing deadlier, ooh such fun" the small whispering came once more excited... Only more excited knowing that Signus had accepted the challenge this one particular person had offered. Why something about the guy just grew stronger, he couldn't quite place it.. But felt deadlier, more focused, ENERGIZing.
The male released a small noise, before Signus make an attack, the male lurching forward to attack as well. Only for signus punch to meet the man's hand taking most of the impact, which was above the average male, same impact that made his heart still in fear. This guy was practically packed with muscle, like an unmovable stone.
The hand squeezed locking the White-hair male in place, just as the body turned aiming a knee into signus leading leg, this cause flickers of pain and shivers. This was a terrible idea, what was he fucking thinking? Challenging this guy? Male just took out like.. The guys cowarding, debating on watching or leaving... What was he thinking. "you can take him.... just try harder... that numbness... that burning feeling.. you've felt it before... worst. this is nothing... absolute. nothing." Right... It was Nothing. He'd been through worst, the temporary tear in the eye, was ignored. His free hand hit the male's wrist holding his first right hand captive with all its strength, the abnormal strength of a Magi. Both Hands noticeably gloved.
Moment the male released, he'd jump back, watching studying the male closely. Fingers itching... "cheat... get the knives... He can't catch knives." His eyes flickered a moment at the thought, hand wide open. No. He can't... this.. this.. wasn't a monster.. It...was just.. another human.. just beat up. "Fucker." He whispered low tauntingly, this time not attacking, this time shifting to be more balanced. His body already adapting to the bit of pain done.
Good impact. Marius' eyes squinted slightly as he felt the recoil of the hit. This man was tough. The red-haired male gritted his teeth, more so worried at how the male had succeeded in remaining standing after that. This was definitely going to be tougher than the thugs Marius would find himself encountering usually. Then came the man's retort, a rebuttal to the red-head's counter. A quick left hand snapped inwards, slamming against Marius' wrist. His eyes widened at the impact, the force behind the attack a lot sharper than the vessel was expecting. As Signus retreated, so would Marius. The strength his appearances belied was a new development that Marius knew he'd have to take note of. He staggered back a few steps, readopting his posture as his arms came up halfway his torso.
Something was odd, though. The man looked excruciatingly frustrated. Was it because Marius had just been done flooring his mates? He glanced over his shoulder briefly, noticing that the two thugs had managed to crawl away from the scene, across the ground, unable still to get back up on his feet. Or perhaps too frightened to do so. They did not look all too relieved at the arrival of their 'third member', though.
Could it be that they never actually knew of each other?
If that was the case, then this situation was even more odd. Who was this dude? Golden eyes traversed back to Signus, and he took a deep breath. Regardless of his identity, or motive, what Marius needed to do never changed. And that was to fight his way out of here, one way or another. If this man would decide to stay in his way, then it would be his misfortune. Another deep breath, and he tucked his chin in slightly, eyes focusing in on the white-haired male. A hand stretched forward, then, and his fingers curled in, as if beckoning him closer.
The pause was long, though he was long from winded he just stared the other down attempting to use a different point of battle. As head one was definitely not going to work, as the male motioned for him forward... Clearly the guy wasn't going to attack him, this brought a small smile on his face, suddenly respecting the male before him way more. The voice creeping in almost sounding off based, "right there... one dagger, you need just one." It felt a bit chillier, but Signus attempted to drown it out, only for it to grow louder demanding, "rule.. freedom... take him down... use your hands... spit with your mouth... wary. look, he's wary." No. This wasn't. He felt the urges the pull. "kill.. bring down the mountain.. blood stain red..."singsong voice sounded, He gave a small curse mostly to himself, "fucking stop." His hands formed into fists, his body moving more cautious and thoughtful this time around.
Coming up he didn't leave a space open on his right, no rather he seemed to shrink a little, was he actually attempting to make a punch on the left side? Should the hit make, it would have felt less aiming to harm and more playful. Even the air around the white-hair male shifted a bit, the smile a definite proof of that. Should the larger male of the two managed to block his attack, he'd turn to head butting the male.
He... He wasn't alright. His mood seemed to be jumping all over the place. Expressions of agony, and then excitement. Frustration, and then relief. Though his body remained ever steadfast - mostly - his facial expressions were all over the place. Marius furrowed his eyebrows. Was that perhaps what his senses had been telling him? That this man was dangerous not because of his strength, but because of that state of mind he was stuck in? That wanton unpredictability?
He whispered once more, and from where he stood, Marius could not hear what he was saying. Whatever it was, though, it seemed to snap a gear inside him into place, as his body adopted a more... Defensive posture. Even his movement was more solid this time round. Great. The attack came, and Marius reacted as he had learned to react. He moved. He leaned to the left, his arm coming up to swipe the fist away from his person, as he tried to divert the attack away. And that was when the follow up came. His eyes widened, and he found himself only able to bear the impact as he tucked his chin in.
His brain rattled in his skull, and he gritted his teeth in frustration. As he had pegged earlier. Unpredictable. Taking a sharp inhale to force his brain to remain connected to his spine - rhetorically speaking, of course - he moved to throw his right arm forward, going under their other arms, as he threw a low uppercut into the man's solar plexus.
The man moved, but Signus was ready making for a successful headshot into the chin. Oversell it only caused small amount of shock to his skull, oddly getting hit there multiple times or manipulated those past couple years... Oddly helped raise his defensive system in such, categories. However while he was temporarily enjoying his victory, the one he dared to continue attacking came up with a punch that made exact contact right above his stomach causing swarms of pain. A small noise escaping him, how strong was this guy?
His body curled inward in a rather defensive desperate movement, as he was probably shoved aside landing probably on the ground in an almost K-O. Managing with his abnormal strength to pick himself up wiping his chin for the saliva. A grin on his face, oddly looking nicer? "Good one." He replied with a small soft laugh, soon followed by. "Can you teach me how to fight?" What? Was wrong with... Sigh. He felt slightly embarrassed and ludicrous asking such a thing, but hey... Out Fighting everyday, this guy was really tough even with his abnormal strength, maybe.. just maybe. His body moving to a much less confronting aggressive behavior, right hand even coming back to scratch the back of his head. His face red from the small little pow-wow, and probably running all over the town before them.
The exchange had been messy, resulting in damage on both ends. Marius still felt dazed from the impact right into his face, though he had no doubts that he had manage to wind Signus as well with that last swing. Whatever the case, it called for a reprieve for the two fighters, and as Signus staggered back with his arms across his torso, so did Marius. His right hand remained at the ready, while his left moved up to pinch the bridge of his nose. That had been a strong headbutt, and Marius knew he was going to feel that the next morning. He shut his eyes briefly, before shaking his head, trying to throw the daziness that was plaguing him out of mind.
The fact that the other remained on his feet was a clear testament to his resilience, and suffice to say, Marius knew that this fight was starting to go either way. The impact on his skull would definitely have repercussions, and another would probably be sufficient in marking him down for the count. What happened next, though, was certainly not something Marius had been expecting.
His eyes widened at the request, his body loosening up as he stared. Did he just ask him to teach him how to fight? "What?" Marius asked at first, mostly out of shock than anything else, as he narrowed his eyes. Was this a ploy? To get him to lower his guard? Cheeky, if it was. With that in mind, Marius kept his guard up, yet he allowed himself to entertain the idea. "Why should I? You were the one that attacked me out of nowhere, cause you obviously have no relation to the thugs behind me."
It seemed rather unexpected as the guy seemed to have lost slight composure taken aback eyes going wide by such a ludicrous idea. Asking what, before continuing with why should he. Which Signus changed posture a bit, "True I did! attack you out of nowhere! It was fun!"
Fun, free, and why did he do it... Right because he wanted to challenge... The stranger... Why did he do it again? He felt a bit off, now the whispering presence was gone, why did he do it? He should have defended the guy, helped the guy out, why did he.. attack.. the one being attacked. He scratched his head confusion writing all over it, why did he? do that?
Then there was the thugs, he looked over them, they... Weren't really all that impressive, he gave a shrug. "Nope,I know none of them at all. I don't even live over here to mess with thugs." He fiddled with the concrete ground with his shoe, before turning brighter than before. Skull hurting just a bit, but probably not as much as the other males... He did put his all into it, and the GUY still hit him in the stomach! Next time he wanted to win! Be friends with this cool guy, he pointed over to the thugs, "Who is to say You three weren't just messing around?" He asked coyly knowing full well that... Yeah this guy was being attacked.. Yeah he probably should have helped him.
Unlike before, there didn't seem to be any sign of hostile intent from the white-haired male anymore, and Marius would take a deep breath to regain his composure. He would lift his chin, then, deliberately tilting his head back as he continued to squeeze his nose bridge. There was a numbing sensation in the area of it now, and he knew that it was a clear sign that he was going to get a nose bleed if he didn't do anything about it. Sturdy as he was, there were certain parts of one's body that you could never really train to withstand such an impact, especially from a bone as hard as a skull.
"Fun, huh?" Marius repeated, before dismissing the notion with a scoff. He was every bit as unorthodox and unpredictable as Marius had pegged him to be. Probably unstable too. Though they were often amusing to observe - in some cases - they were also rather dangerous when given the capabilities to do harm. And Marius had learned that first-hand at this point about Signus. Wild and unpolished his skill may be, there was no denying that that crazed attitude of his was a powerful weapon in itself. Hell, Marius never would have thought a headbutt would be the best action to take in the situation he had been placed in.
"Messing around?" Marius cocked his eyebrows, still peering down on the younger male with his head tilted back. "They haven't gotten up from the ground, have they?" The red-head glanced over his shoulder, confirming his suspicions. When it came to fighting, especially against people that had intended to do him harm, Marius never really knew the meaning of holding back. He had thrown his fists at them with no hesitance, and no mercy. He doubted they'd be getting up anytime soon, especially with one dazed from an impact to his nose, and another with a clean hit to the solar plexus.
Oh, the irony of it, that their experiences would be shared by either of the two other people present in the vicinity. "Anyway, I don't see why I should teach you. You seem pretty good enough on your own, and I don't know what you think of me, but I'm no teacher."
The grin only grew on the weight hair as the guy cocked an eyebrow baffled, peering over at the other guys as if.. this is what you consider? fun? He shrugged in response to the guy's comment and 'double checking they're there' movement. "You got them pretty good!" He answered with joking mannerism, though was there a hint of worry underneath? All pretend?
After that guy shifted just slightly, Signus followed suit lowering the grin and pretend don't give damn attitude. This shift taking one of slight disappointment as the guy turned it down, "But you fight so fucking cooler than me! You took out both those guy so easily! I couldn't ever do that, hell I barely stood a chance because of this strength" The way he said strength made it sound as if it wasn't his, but some sort of alien form attached to his arm.
He gave a small sigh posture shifting again in utter defeat, "Okay then, can we at least hang out? Wouldn't it be fun to get something to eat! Talk about..." He paused trying to figure out what they actually talk about, he didn't even know this guy... Hell this guy might just be a drug dealer, or didn't have drugs, or something. "something?" he said slightly desperate, with a small hint of loneliness.
