The year is 1979, mid-year, just before the eighties take their turn with time was born a beautiful baby girl on a mid-summers afternoon during a precious summer rain storm. The parents of who the man was famous for his clothing brands, and her mother of whom ran a business of her own watched as the freshly born babygirl had been crying. Her Father of whom was both proud and obsessed with Greek mythology looked down at her with a gentle smile "We shall call her Ptolemys." he said as her mother began to rock the young Ptolemys.
[break][break]
In her younger years, Ptolemys often times could be found looking off into the distance, swaying, her mind simply lost. When her parents came to get her they would ask "What are you looking at dear?" and she would not reply - simply staring at nothing or so it seemed. Little did they know that deep within her mind, what it portrayed for her was a black void, a darkness that she could see nothing, though when people got close she could see small transparent white light. Often she would look at her mother with a quizzical look which would often time scare her mother, and soon they would go and take her to a psychiatrist to find out the problem.
[break][break]
It was not hard to find that young Ptolemys after doing a few tests was suffering from psychopathic tendencies. Though this was a clear sign that she had no consciousness of her own, the doctor suggested shock therapy, as a means to kind of snap her back into reality. Though this was never a proven method, the parents had agreed, and so tweeks later they had taken her to the hospital. During these two weeks, on one night one of the neighborhood kids had been joking with Ptolemys, calling her a freak, nuts, someone who was unwanted. Ptolemys when she had looked at her saw the small light, and smiled a creepy smile ear-to-ear. When her parents had come to find her, her mother screamed a tad in shock, as her father of whom was shocked as well before coming to grab her saw that she had a knife in her hand and on the tip of the knife was a little blood. Ptolemys father had quickly grabbed the knife from her and picked her up, and by doing so locked her in the room until it was time to go to the hospital.
[break][break]
They strapped her into the chair, and as the door closed, they had put the pads onto the temples of either side of her head. Placing the pads onto her head, she felt a joke surge through her entire body, for the first time her eyes emerged from the darkness that she was seeing and into the blinding light as she screamed in agonizing pain. This routine would continue, for as soon as it would stop and the doctor would ask her how she was doing she would give him a quizzical look before being shocked again and brought back into the light, she was huffing after every attempt. Eventually it would get to a point to where her vision was shadowed but she could see hazey, dark-grey versions of people. When the doctor had asked her if she was fine, she gave a slow ear-to-ear smile, and said "I am perfectly fine now, thank you Doctor." the doctor smiled and soon they released her from the straps, while little did they know that they had released something much more worse.
[break][break]
By the time she had hit high school Ptolemys was something totally different, she was more responsive, more 'friendly' and she had an eye for fashion as she would often be found at a lunch table drawing up dresses and other things and naming the brand Eclipse. While she talked to people and was slowly turning into one of the most popular people in the school she still chose to be alone, something about being around people irritated her, made her grind her teeth, made her want to do something she might not regret. For the best, it was wise for her to be alone. Whenever she had gotten home she would only say hello to her mother and father briefly if they were home that is, to which she would just go make something to eat and go to her room. From time to time though, that darkness that still plagued her, that black void would come back and she would stare aimlessly out the window, only seeing the all-encompassing void that was her world.
[break][break]
by the time she had hit college she was the talk of the town, as someone who had lived in England for all of her life, they knew well of whom her parents were, and she was sure to follow in her fathers footsteps. Majoring in Fashion Merchandising she was certain this is what she wanted to do, and though her ways never changed she had made an attempt to make a friend here and there. Though she never really spoke to them, nor talked on the phone and even barely texted they were something that she considered the closest to being her friends.
[break][break]
One night in the dead of winter, Ptolemys was overtaken by this darkness, and she was hallucinating. She pictured her mother and father gasping for air, and each gasp that they took blood would surface from their mouth. She was looking from the view of someone who was a fragile looking girl, frail by nature, and in her hand was a knife that was slowly being brought into her view. When the knife fell again, is when the darkness slowly unveiled itself and when she saw that she was atop her father stabbing him, her mother was next to him with her last breath already gone, lifeless as she was looking dead at her daughter. Her father was pleading, begging her to stop, but she only gave a smile. "Share this darkness with me, won't you father?" she asked him as she brought the knife down on him one more time before he fell lifeless.

It was at this time that she had gotten an offer to go to New Paris to start her line, and so the only logical thing to do was set the house on fire. The news the next morning reporting this across the world. "Fashion Designer and Guru, William Hazeldine and his wife Fetine Hazeldine found in a burned down house. Now reports have no found their daughter, up and coming Ptolemys Hazeldine, suggesting that she was either taken or killed within the fire as well. Neighbors say the fire was suggested to have started around eleven thirty last night - thirty minutes earlier they had heard screams coming from the home before silence. They assumed that it was just screams from a scary movie, and by two of the same day, the house was totally ablaze, fire fighters rushed to the home and put out the fire but by that time, everything had been lost. We will update you more on the situation coming up in just a little bit. In other news a---" is when Ptolemys cut the stream off.
[break][break]
When she entered New Paris she was fascinated by what she had seen, the void was even more wide here and she was enjoying it. But when she was stopped by the police, she was quickly asked to go with them to the station, where she wrote a confession. There she cried at the 'discovery' of her parents being dead, "I-I had no idea, I had been gone that very night as I had gotten a train ticket for my job here in New Paris.. If I was there maybe I.." she couldn't finish her words she cried, giving them all that she wanted them to see. They had released her later that day, and as she left, crying and sulking still - when she turned those tears vanished and her facial expression was blank. She wished for nothing more than the world to be devoured by the void to share that cold lonliness that she felt so that they too cold know what true fear was.
