Chaos is known as the being that never became a star. It is everywhere and yet nowhere at the same time.
Neither good nor evil, the ultimate expression of nothingness. The antithesis of the cosmos, creation itself.
Although Chaos claims to be the very state of existence from which the first entities appeared, it cannot form into the entity it wants most.
So it has been cursed to stay in the form of a dark and shapeless void. Floating between existence and nonexistence.
Longingly watching as stars are constantly born and lives are lived. The seeds of malice had been planted, flourished and transformed Chaos into the purest form of evil.
[attr="class","nologicpost1"] It has been a few days and things have died down. Julius had to answer a couple of questions from the police. He didn't inform them of the magic and simply stated that he helped someone escape after making the call. He had also seen Alex again, Alex who was safe and well. That was honestly the biggest relief of all this. He had also handed out his contact information to the three individuals that night, although he was not sure if they would contact him or not. By the end of the day, it was their choice.[break][break]
For now, he was back to work going through cases and paper. He had also recently picked up a case of a victim who died five years ago. He knew that it was not a high priority case due to its age, it was virtually a cold case, but he did make a mental note to try to come into contacts with the victim's family once again. It was not put away because only because they couldn't find the murderer a month after the murder but also because it did not seem too dangerous. The most they could put on the culprit was most likely manslaughter.[break][break]
"Julius, your time is up," teased a secretary who had opened his door. Time was up? Gray eyes looked over at the clock in his office. Right...work was over. The male bit his lips and looked at the files. He didn't get as far as he would like. Honestly, he could just continue to work, he wouldn't mind it. It wasn't like he had much to do anyway. However, he understood how that may hurt the office. The male gave a nod before starting to pack up. His eyes trailed after the secretary who had closed the door before quickly putting in some of the files into his bag. He can work at home, no one would know,[break][break]
With the files and his belongings packed, Julius walked out. From the corner of his eyes, he can see Maurice was still talking to one of the recent clients. It was a woman who was filing abuse if he remembered correctly. A part of him wondered if her kid was here today. The girl was not at the front desk...did she find someone to watch her child in the meantime? Even if it was not in the prosecutor's place as she was not his client, he can only hope she had.[break][break]
The first thing that caught Julius's eyes when he stepped out as the usual sight on the outside of his office. People walking down the streets, cars driving up and down the road, one of the interns who was most likely on a break sitting outside with a cup of coffee, a child sitting down on a bench and talking to Emile's friend...wait. His eyes quickly went back to the bench the two were sitting at, eyes widen. Now that he looked closely, he was sure that child was the one he had somewhat looked for at the front desk earlier. And well..this was the girl who had been there that night. She was also the first to leave if he remembered correctly. Did she also know the client? Somehow, it wouldn't surprise Julius too much, she seemed to know people.[break][break]
"Yvette...Julie..." he greeted each of them separtely with a nod.[break][break]
"Oh! It's the funny man!" the child cried out pointing at the prosecutor.[break][break]
[attr="class","stylishtext"] Ever since she came into being the host for... a very naggy spirit, there had been minor changes to Yvette's mannerisms. Most had gone unseen, for they were relatively normal in nature. But, to those that had known her for quite some time, would have been caught off guard by a few of them. One, in particular, was her sudden affinity with children. If ever Yvette found a child in distress, she seemed to be willed to aid them. No matter the situation. And, while it was true she had been somewhat of a kind person prior to Artemis taking refuge in her soul without even a down payment or monthly rent; it became more of a pressing matter now than before. All of the children she came in contact with that were in distress, she helped them. Lost toys, cries for candy, boo-boos in need of bandages. It didn't matter. She had become the neighborhood superhero. Heroine. Yes, Heroine, much better. [break][break] It wasn't all for naught though. The smiling faces of the children after they had been administered aid lit her heart aglow. That, and once they found out she was in a band, they were quick to claim they would be at her performances. Instant fans of the maiden, it seemed. They were all so adorable. Such kind-hearted little beings. Even the younger boys. She couldn't count on one hand how many 'thanks pretty lady's she received. Artemis seemed to enjoy them as well. So, it was something they could both agree on... [break][break] unlike today. [break][break] Yvette had scheduled a meeting with a potential manager for Roselia. And, while she was very excited to meet the man, Artemis... wasn't. "Mmm, I don't understand why you're acting this way." Yves spoke aloud... to herself. But in actuality, the being inside of her. "We can hunt, some other time. Need I remind you that this is MY body? You just live in it. I make the decisions. And today, I decide we're going to—" oh? Turquoise hues took sight to a young girl with her mother. Standing outside of a business building. And, while the sight would have been normal in most cases, the young child seemed to be wiping her eyes. Immediately, the will to aid kicked in and Yvette darted over to her side. [break][break] After convincing the mother, Yvette took the girl, Julie, she introduced; over to a stand that was selling treats. Buying the young girl a sugary confection, and a coffee for herself, the two spent a little time animal and people watching. Picking fun at a few of the citizens and watching as woodland creatures came closer in hopes of taking a piece of the confection Julie held in tow. With the spirits of the child on the rise, Yves could take a sigh of relief. Her job was done. Though, it seemed Julie's mother had gone into the building and hadn't come out yet. So, they would sit on a bench and wait. [break][break] Hand games were played and giggles were shared while the two waited. It was only after a familiar male appeared, that the rhythmic clapping of hands and giggles ceased. Julie referring to him as, 'the funny man'. "Hm?" This guy? Funny? He sure didn't loo—Oh! It was him! Eyes widened for a brief moment. Her name being called forth. It was the magic user from the night before. What was he doing here? And... how did he know Julie? And her own name, at that. Oh, wait... Emi. [break][break] "Afternoon, Funny man." Yvette teased. "What brings you over?" She looked to Julie and shared a snicker. "How are you?" Her inquiry a loaded one. On one hand, it seemed like a common gesture when conversing with another. However, Yvette was much more curious in his well being from the last night. Now that she had him, she could ask even more questions. And wouldn't let him out of her sight until she received answers.
[attr="class","nologicpost1"] Julie was the first to react to Yvette using her nickname by giving a big nod grinning at the girl, "yeah! You think he talks funny too right!?"[break][break]
Gray eyes blinked before glancing away, Julius's head slightly tilted to the side. Did...did he talk that funny? He knew that there were many pauses in his speech but people usually seemed patient about it. So yes, he knew he talked differently but he didn't think it was funny or humorous. Just...what exactly did he sound like to people outside of court? No, he couldn't let the word of a child affect him that much whether or not it was true. He could not really do anything about his speech pattern due to how slow he can be in social situations. Besides, it was better to be slow than to make some erroneous mistake and hurt someone's feelings or forget a social rule, right?[break][break]
Coughing into his hand in order to buy time, Julius looked at the building he had left. "I...work...here..." hmmm maybe he did talk funny. The prosecutor lightly bit his lips before shaking his head. "And...I saw..Julie's mother..but..Julie wasn't...with her."[break][break]
"That's because I'm with Yvette!" the child declared to which Julius nodded to. Yes, he can see that, which unfortunately caused some problems. They couldn't really talk about what happened the other night with Julie here. However, what was being discussed in the office was most likely not something they would want a child to hear either.[break][break]
"I'm...also...fine...getting...better." His arm still hurt when he tries to lift it up but it was certainly healing. "What..about you?"[break][break]
"You two know each other?"[break][break]
Right..."Halloween...party...."[break][break]
"You don't go to parties!"[break][break]
Julius blinked at the bold declaration...was it that obvious?
[attr="class","stylishtext"] His contemplative pattern of speech was rather amusing. If not odd, as well. With a giggle and a nod, Yvette agreed with Julie. "Maybe he's always thinking about something?" Which, could be a valid guess, with the world of magic unfolding around them and such. Though, she too found herself in fits of deep contemplation throughout the day. But, her speech hardly showed such. Or well, maybe not so blatantly? Her attention shifted from Julie back to the familiar male. Could he have a spirit inside of him as well? And, if so, how did he manage to cope with it? Sharing another body with an entity that seemed to only exist in works of fiction? Books of lore. Or, well, were they only bound to spirits of Artemis' caliber? Could there have been others? Of course. Anything was possible now, it seemed. Her little world had expanded so vastly. So many questions, so little time. The first one being, what was this guy's name? Funny Man, would only get her so far. [break][break] "Oh?" Head craned around the male's body. He worked here? So... how did he know Emi, then? Had she been in some sort of legal trouble? And kept it secret from Yvette? The nerve. The gall of that girl. The moment she could her grips on her cell phone, Emi was going to explain herself for sure. But, for now, Yves had a little girl to entertain for the time being. Shirking her duties in lieu of having questions answered was not on the day's agenda. "Julie looked a little bored. So, I offered to take her on a little play date while her mother went and did," head craned to the younger girl, "yucky adult stuff. That's what you called it earlier, right?" Yves giggled, turning her head back to the male present. "I didn't keep her away too long, did I? I promised I wouldn't run away with her~" A soft poke moved to tickle the sides of Julie. [break][break] Good news came shortly after. He seemed to be recovering well from the incident. "Likewise~" she batted her eyelashes absently. "I'm glad to hea—"a party? A blank stare took over her visage. Eyes darting from Julie to the man. Then, back to Julie. Oh come now... anyone would have seen through that cop out! Even Julie knew it was a farce. "Er uh, what he means is he saw me leaving a Halloween party." Sure, that sounded more believable, right? "I was dressed as the pretty suited soldier. I fought for love, for justice!" Yvette rose from the bench, a palm to her chest while the other motioned outward. A twirl ensued shortly after. "Mr. Funny Man here was helping one of my friends with... her costume." She quickly nodded, "such a gentleman~" [break][break] That would work, right? [break][break] Hands came to her hips and a snicker danced into the air. "My band was supposed to play that night too. Buuuut," lower lip flipped, quivered and turned into a pronounced pout. "I had to teach a few bullies a lesson. So I didn't even get to sing." With index fingers poked at her cheeks, Yvette turned to face the raven haired man. [break][break] "That's what happened, right~?"
[attr="class","nologicpost1"] When Julius was poked by Yvette, the child lightly hit the hand away with a giggle. The older girl was certainly better with children than he was...then again just about anyone probably would be. He shook his head, "no...there's...no problem...with this...arrangement." He supposed he should simply wait until it was over so he can talk to the raven haired girl about Halloween. He was quite sure that they both had questions.[break][break]
At Julie's rather bold (and accurate) declaration, Yvette had thankfully stepped in stating that they didn't run into each other at the party but rather outside of the party. She then described what outfits he was wearing before modeling a pose and twirling. Julie was quick to clap obviously quite enjoying the show. Julius on the other hand...can only stare. There were a few passersby who stayed at her as well but continued to walk forward when they noticed there was a child. Gray eyes continued to reflect the magical girl in front of him as she talked, his mind somewhat focused on her words but also still reflecting on what he had just seen. How exactly was he the funny one when Yvette had pulled off such a childish move?[break][break]
Julius will never understand social convention.[break][break]
Whatever, Yvette had said (something about a band, Julius helping out Emile with her outfit and bullies) had obviously won over Julie who gave a nod. However, the child still looked over at the prosecutor most likely mimicking the older girl.[break][break]
Julius merely gave a nod...feeling almost strange lying to a child in such a way. Still, the alternative was telling her about magic and the danger she unknowingly lived in...it was obvious what was the better choice. "I'm..glad..you're..okay. You seem..full...of energy." he stated with a small nod.[break][break]
"That's because she's fun!" The prosecutor tilted his head at Julie's answer. Was that why? Whatever the reason was, like most children, her attention was taken away by the more lively Yvette. Such a thing suited Julius who had merely kept quiet at times listening in on their conversation and other times taking out his phone to type down some notes to himself or look at his schedule.[break][break]
"Mommy!" the sudden cry had startled Julius who had almost jumped from the bench but thankfully managed to hold himself back. Gray eyes saw Julie quickly running over and grabbing the woman by the hand. The woman who had thanked Yvette and Julius for looking after her child even though the latter had not done anything. Once the two were out of sight, Julius stood up.[break][break]
"Lets talk...in my...apartment." Becuase he knew for certain they would have privacy there. "Have you...eaten...anything..yet?" he couldn't help but ask. If not..then...they might have to go pick up something to eat on the way. He doubted giving microwave food to guests was a very courteous thing to do. "I'll pay," he offered holding his phone out. If she had already eaten though, well that would make things easier and they could just head back to his apartment. He will merely not eat until they were done talking.
note: give me the address and some money and maybe something gets caught on fire.
