Chaos is known as the being that never became a star. It is everywhere and yet nowhere at the same time.
Neither good nor evil, the ultimate expression of nothingness. The antithesis of the cosmos, creation itself.
Although Chaos claims to be the very state of existence from which the first entities appeared, it cannot form into the entity it wants most.
So it has been cursed to stay in the form of a dark and shapeless void. Floating between existence and nonexistence.
Longingly watching as stars are constantly born and lives are lived. The seeds of malice had been planted, flourished and transformed Chaos into the purest form of evil.
Well... Practice made perfect, that's what they said and that's what he is doing in this abandoned side of town, the Slums of Old Paris. His abilities were definitely the accurate or the most powerful, by they got him by each and every magical battle he had been up to this point. At this very moment in this freezing cold rain, around 60 degrees... He wore a raincoat right above a nice thick black hoodie just to stay warm in this terrible weather.. But what was great about awful weather? Nobody will be around to watch him practice, at least he thought. No questions be asked, no accusations about falling buildings... All part of the cold temperatures and bad rainstorm, only problem is if he gets sick, that'd suck.
Taking deep breaths he spat onto his hand, the fluid he'd found decays things as well, however it effects his clothing and particles as well... As those around him. But! He has found by spitting large amount into his hand and then tossing it forward toward a target, easier than just spitting randomly or touching... Well touching was always easiest, but spit can come in handy at times. He'd found a way to get creative leaving random splotches everywhere. There was even artwork on the side of the building that was a mixture of oxidized materials and not so... Magically influences that spelled out his name. Really this just screamed out his personal hideout, hopefully nobody stalked around. With that small thought he threw this newest clump right into a glass object inside the building, his aim of course completely off. But, the great thing about the rain, he found it seemed to weaken his abilities.. Or Rather, made mistakes create less damage. So, he just kept spitting and throwing, till eventually one slobber managed to his the glass. How did he know? easy he could see the cup, along with the small water droplets leaking from the not so safe roof.
With that practice round finished, he walked over to a small dry pieces of metal, wrapped his hand around it to weaken the metal, before doing it again with his other hand a foot away, then forcibly squeezing it into his palm the metal shrinking rather quickly breaking it a part. The metal broken up to the point that it was a pile of dust, he smirked at the little dust he had created, when a voice sounded near by. "Whose, there?" He asked squeezing the little dust pile close to his body, the body completely on guard.
Probably no one jogged around the city more than Dita did at least among the kids her age. So when it came to knowing the layout of the town and roads from the perspective of someone on foot, Dita was one of the best people to ask. She did steer clear however of places that were known to be dangerous or attracted trouble or troublemakers, so her knowledge wasn't exactly complete. But every once in a while she would feel a little adventurous and mix-up her jogging routes with short detours to such places a little bit at a time. After all, thanks to her 'other' responsibilities, finding herself in not-so-savory places happened a lot more than she would like. She had to get used to them.
Today's route took her around a section of Louvre. But as bad luck would have it, a heavy downpour happened in the middle of her jog and so she had to find some place to take cover from the rain. She had her usual hoodie and tracksuit on, but while that kept her somewhat dry, it wasn't exactly the warmest thing. She wasn't fond of thick clothes as she often sweat a lot during her workouts so something light and cool was preferable. That turned out to be not the best choice that day. To make matters worse, she was in a rather scary part of town. Most of the buildings around this area were abandoned and who knows what might just pop out. She shivered at the thought.
Unfortunately there weren't really much choices nearby for places to take cover from the rain. A lot of the abandoned buildings were also boarded up. Well, wooden boards couldn't really stop her if she tried, but she was an upstanding citizen and wasn't going to break things for her own convenience. She eventually spotted a building that wasn't boarded up like the others. It honestly didn't look very hospitable but beggars can't be choosers. She immediately headed for it, forgetting to consider that it might not be boarded up because it was actually occupied.
"Ah!"
Almost as soon as she set foot inside, she let out a yelp as a couple of the largest rats she had ever seen in her life suddenly scurried by before her. They didn't really do anything more than that so she calmed down right right away. But afterwards she heard a voice call out from somewhere inside, asking who was there. It was then that she realized she should have figured someone else might be in here. Not wanting to cause them unnecessary alarm or panic, she cautiously ventured closer to where the voice came from, finally spotting another person in a raincoat.
"Oh, um, hello. Just taking cover from the rain."
It was at this point that she noticed the many unusual splotches around the area. But it was none of her business so she didn't pry.
A voice answered him, the owner of the voice? A young looking girl around mid teen years hair hidden behind a hood, it looked as if she just stepped out of the rain with the few droplets on her jogger's jacket. She commented about taking cover from the rain, which didn't surprise especially considering how cold she was. He almost felt bad for the girl wished he had some sort of fire abilities, well almost.
He dropped the dust, losing his defensive position to attack. A small grin spread, "Well you certainly came to the right place, if by right place, enjoy everything leaking everywhere." He joked commenting at all the small leaks everywhere, he really shouldn't say anything about them, as most were probably his fault from messing with the building's rate of decay... Soon the city would notice and tear down his little hideout, or wait till somebody got hurt... Probably him, probably not. "Do you live around here? Or Are you lost?" He asked actually attempting to try and help the girl, it was hard... Real hard to just walk off hands in pockets. But hey, the girl may freeze, he'd hate to be at fault.
To be honest speaking with a stranger bothered so much more than the rain or cold. She couldn't get a good look at the owner of the voice as she kept her distance and the bad weather meant it was a little on the dark side inside that old structure even if it wasn't nighttime yet. She instinctively pulled her hood down a bit more to hide her face, but her voice wasn't fooling anyone.
"Um, n-no not from around here. Not lost either. J-just took a detour. Please don't mind me."
The girl took a few deep breaths to try and relax. If they could just keep to themselves, that would be the best, but that was probably too much to ask. She did intrude in their building so it was natural they'd notice and approach her. She hoped the rain would pass soon so she could be on her way. In the meantime she decided to distract herself with a little shadow boxing. A bit of workout would help her feel warm too.
She stayed close to the entrance where she came in from. She had no reason to go further inside where the other guy was. This was also so that she could make her way out quickly if anything happened. Throwing a few quick jabs in the air, she was starting to get into the zone. She loved this feeling of focus and concentration, like she was in her own world. Just her and an invisible opponent that only she could see.
His big warm black jacket kept him safe and warm, that for a moment he'd forgotten how really cold it was outside, not quite freezing but certainly not warm or comfortable. The person pulled their hood even more further down to cover even MORE of their face, coming off almost almost less of a danger.
The girl slowly commented her voice coming off scared, and sounding as if she was lost, he guessed maybe she was just cold? Scared? Why was somebody out in this rainy cold weather this far? He slowly pulled down his raincoat hood to reveal his spikey white hair and tattoo underneath. The grin still there, though it was soft had she saw it before. "Not from around here? What is a child like you doing so far from home?" He asked as she started some sort of fighter exercise, wait did she actually know how to box? Know how to actually fight? He thought of his fist fight couple weeks back with some redhead, "Could.. you teach me that?" He asked uncertain, she was after all way younger than him. If any police came by, he didn't want to be framed for kidnapping or something else entirely insane.
In hindsight, she probably shouldn't have started doing something that drew more attention to herself. Not only did the other guy seem intent on having a conversation, he was also now interested in the girl's shadowboxing. This flustered her a bit, causing her to unleash an even faster flurry of jabs before finally slowing down to catch her breath. Not wanting to seem rude, she decided that she ought to just reply.
"I'm an athlete. I jog all over around the city and I sometimes take off the beaten path routes like this one. It was just luck really that I ended up here. There was no real purpose or meaning to it."
She hoped that explanation was enough. As for his other question, it was much harder to respond to.
"I-I'm not really a good teacher at all I think. I'm not even sure where to start. I pick-up things quickly and can demonstrate, but that's about it."
The coaches and trainers made it all look easy. Well, she had the theory and lessons in her head, but communicating it properly to someone else was another matter. She might have managed a bit with someone she knew well, but a total stranger was a little out of the question. She didn't even know if they were a complete novice or already have some skills. She really respected those who had the capacity to teach at being able to handle this sort of thing.
[break] It was Signus and his use of magic that awoke the youma from its slumber. It was resting deep within the upper sections of the building. It's presence hidden by the shadows that covered it. The creature had chosen to remain silent for quite some time. Rather than attack it made the choice to watch and observe it's soon to be prey. It was a patient creature and would not mind waiting until the opportune moment to strike at the magi. It clung to it's web its many eyes analyzing and taking in everything that it could about the humans below it.[break][break]
Dita Fluegel began to box with the air and the spider silently clicked it's pinscher together in interest. It could smell the fear wafting off from her the moment she had walked into the building. It was delightful. Fear often made the spider's prey and their star seeds taste the best. Dita would be the first one it eat. Of that the creature was certain. It couldn't forget about the other Magi though. The one capable of decaying things with his spit and touch. He would prove a difficult foe if the youma wasn't careful.[break][break]
The creature made its move. From it's vintage point high above them the spider made its first attack. Not at either of the Magi but rather at the entrance to the building. It launched a large ball of webbing directly at the top point of the entryway. As the webbing made contact it exploded, covering the entire entrance and only exit with its webbing. Even with the male's power to decay he'd find it difficult to destroy. Spider silk was surprisingly strong after all and youma silk was no exception.[break][break]
With the exit sealed the youma moved on with it's plan of attack. It dropped from its web and landed directly between the Magi with a loud thud. The sheer size of the spider gave it's statue as a youma away. If that was not enough the bright violet glow of it's eye and the ineraget patterns that lined it's body certainly would be. It click it's pinscher at the small girl in front of it, it's filled with its intent to kill. It lashed out at Dita Fluegel one of it's sharp legs poised to strike into her flesh and impale her into the ground. Meanwhile it launched a ball of webbing from it's backside Signus hoping to pin him to the wall. [break][break]
She sometimes took the beaten path? During her training? He felt a small little heart quench the though of those words, like they held some sort of philosphical meaning related t him. She considered it a luck type ordeal, luck? He pushed the small shivers ran down his back clinching his unglovend hands, right luck.
She denied his offer, he wasn't really surprised, after all she was just a child. He was couple years into adulthood, probably be wiser to hire a trainer at his school. Maybe he should visit the gym? Then again... training on his own, he has survived so far. "Haha Okay." the reply came out almost as if it was forced to hide his disappointment.
He looked around the building and wetness outside, before giving a sigh... he really should just go home, right on que the entrance held a rather large explosion as some sort of bomb or thing went off. He backed off from the entrance looking around in confusion, when a giant black bloob landed with a thud catching his attention.
His heart skipped a beat at the large creature before them, how long had this thing been living here?! He took a small step back with worry, but soon after his eyes flicked to where the spider's head and attention seemed to turn to. Oh NO. "Fucking MOVE" He shouted on impulse, the voice back of his mind telling him to let the spider kill the girl... Let himself get away, no need to be a hero after all. A voice he quickly ignored focusing on pulling his necklace shouting "shattered Duo" The necklace growing into two blade, both hands already grasping both hilts, a move... He'd practiced.... Countless of times. Both hands aimed to slice at the large spider's butt, maybe distracting it..
Only for a giant web to be spat out right into his mouth, chest, neck, and most of the arm the pressure pushing him pretty far back... luckily not into the wall but pretty close to the ground. The taste... wasn't great, producing saliva was hard... And this. Was just awful, caught struggling pinned mostly to the ground, arms making rather slow progress. Felt like a human body around his size if not twice, was on top of him. The voice in his head mocking him for pulling such an idiotic move on a spider of all things.
It happened all too quickly. Dita was probably the first one to notice it. A strange thing like a ball of some sort struck the top of the entrance to the building and on impact quickly expanded to completely block the doorway. The girl who was already in a boxing stance from her shadowboxing immediately took a guarded position, taking a few quick steps away from the blob like thing blocking the exit. Before she could make sense of what was happening, she instinctively looked up and saw a giant spider-like thing was bearing down on her from above, its clawed leg raised to strike.
In a normal situation, Dita would have certainly made a run for it. In fact that was still an option. But seeing the exit suddenly closed off momentarily erased the thought from her mind and her body shifted from flight to fight. She shielded herself with her arms and braced for impact.
A light purple aura surrounded her body a moment before the spider's blow connected. It seemed her reinforced durability would hold for now, but who knew how many more like that she could take. The strike was strong for sure, but unless the youma weighed more than a ton itself, it wasn't budging Dita from that spot. Most insects and arachnids were lighter than they looked despite their size.
Of course Dita was far from fully composed despite her seemingly quick reactions. Her body had moved on instinct but her mind was not quite in a state yet where she could formulate a proper plan to deal with the thing. She understood this was a youma, and if she had not been keeping her thoughts focused with her workout earlier, she might have been a bit more panicked. For now she had to take it step by step and get out of that position. Figuring out how to beat the thing would come later.
Something similar to black electricity would suddenly crackle around Dita while under the spider's leg. With one big push utilizing her momentarily enhanced strength, she would attempt to flip the spider on its back.
"Get... off!"
She had no idea what other kind of capabilities the monster she was up against had so she would only activate her Might for a couple of seconds, just enough to accomplish the flip, and then would turn it off and save it for her next follow-up.
[break] The youma's assault on Signus had been more than successful. It hadn't managed to pin him to the wall like it had desired but the restriction of his movement had been achieved. The same level of success could not be said for it's attempted attack on Dita. The purple aura surrounded her just as its leg made contact with her body. It bounced off her chest and in doing so the youma let out a hiss of anger. Why did she have to be the difficult one? She was the one it wanted to eat the most. It wanted to taste her delicious fear soaked fleshed more than anything in the world. The mere thought of it was enough to cause the youma to drool. The spider wanted Dita and it would have her no matter what kind of resistance she gave.[break][break]
While Dita's thoughts about the weight of the average spider might have been correct she forgot something important. She wasn't dealing with your typical spider. This was a youma, and a youma was anything but average. Despite the increase to her strength the spider's body refused to topple backward. Instead her efforts merely resulted in the creature being pushed back away from her slightly. It's forelegs hit against the ground in directly in front of her. The youma's pincers clicked once more, and the aforementioned drool began to ooze from the spider's mouth. The liquid that it escaped it was a neon green in color. And as it made contact with the ground it slowly began to eat away it. It would take only a second for Dita to realize. This youma was poisonous.[break][break]
It launched up and over the girl. It's legs latching on the wall behind her as it spun its body around and glare it's many eyes at her backside. Another hiss escaped from its lips and it flung its head to the left and right. Releasing a powerful splash of its poisonous drool onto the ground below it. Dita might of had time to dodge and get out of the wall but Signus would not be so lucky. The poisonous and acidic drool landed directly onto his right shoulder. It didn't take very long for the effects of the slobber to begin. It began to eat away at the silk around his arm first, and it his clothing, and finally his skin. Signus was going to start feeling an intense burning sensation as his flesh began to dissolve and decay. He'd need to get it off quickly if he didn't want to lose his arm altogether. [break][break]
Struggling against Spiderweb of a Youma Spider, definitly not what he had thought this night would end. A stranger in his training area... Not how he thought his night will end. As he struggled barely managing to free a few bit, he sent prayers to anyone who would hear that his cursed hands were gradually breaking through the web.
The one good thing about being stuck to a wall... Incapable of speaking, is watching the battle before him, that female... She was holding her own against the spider, and even more surprising was the black crackling seemed to surround her... Crackle he could barely make-out, black crackle he felt more than saw.. As if a warmth seemed to rise out of her in the move as the girl attempted some sort of move against a large spider only to fail.
He struggled more in slight fear as she failed they were both going to be killed here together. The thing moved around not at all bothered by the girl's power or even the fact there was 2 magical users in the area. Its mouth leaking some sort of goo, that signus noticed was eating through the flooring, "Watch out-SHIT FUCK!!!" Was all he could managed out from his successfully freed mouth from the dissolved spider web, the spider web dissolving even faster from the acid cutting through his clothes, the web, and just absolutely giving him motivation/desperation to push against the wall to break free. "Shi-shi-shi-shi" Was all he could manage before completely stripping down, the gooey fluid leaving what looked to be chemical 3rd degree burn on his shoulder and down mid torso. That'd definitly be infected, and it Definitly hurt.. A Fucking LOT.
Whole Body instant freezing from the cold wet water and natural cooled fall temperatures. His attention turning from the half ruined shirt to the Spider now lurking above. He picke dup his shirt instantly decaying what was left, taking his hand lifting it, "Fucking Shit! Girl Get the hell over here! " Before Blowing on the decayed shirt creating a polluted/smog-like air toward the spider making the area around from his mouth toward the spider very smoggy and hard to breath/see. His attention should he succeeded be attempting to find the girl drag her to the safe clear zone, hoping... she didn't have asthma or something.
The spider turned out to be heavier than expected, but Dita was glad that she at least managed to push it back. This would tell her for sure that she wouldn't lose in a contest of strength albeit she wouldn't have as much of an advantage as she wanted. As soon as the spider gave her a bit of space, the girl used the opening to drop to the ground in a sprinting position, while taking notice of the dangerous looking fluid dripping from the spider's mouth. She'd hate to get hit by that.
The initial plan was to try and hit the thing with a tackling sprint. But with that dangerous thing spewing from its mouth, Dita figured there was no way she would want to touch the thing in close quarters. That was just too risky. Not to mention a giant spider was honestly freaking scary. She was just running on adrenaline at this point to keep her from losing her wits. However to her surprise, the youma jumped over her and positioned itself somewhere behind her. She didn't know what it was thinking, but leaving a wide open space before a champion sprinter was just asking for it.
Using her Might to give her an initial boost, she kicked off from her sprinting position and darted at high speed into the inner part of the building, leaving the youma and the other guy behind. She felt bad for him but there was nothing she could do there. She wondered if there was a backdoor somewhere. Anything was better than this confined space. There were stairs leading up, but considering the youma came at them from above earlier, going up was probably a bad idea. Her eyes glanced at the boarded up windows and finally found another boarded up door.
To a normal person, they might have resigned to being trapped here. But ever since she obtained her magic, wooden boards were as good as paper in Dita's eyes. Using the momentum from her sprint, she activated her Might again and tackled straight through, smashing the boards and the door behind it to bits. The girl found herself outside again in the rain, rolling on the ground because she did a bit of a jump right before crashing through the boarded up door. But she quickly got back up on her feet. There was no time for her to be taking a break.
It was a pretty wide street behind the building. This was exactly the kind of open space she was hoping for, though she could do without the rain. It really made visibility a bit bad. She readied herself, wondering if the other guy or the spider would be following.
In the meantime, she was also looking around if there was anything she could use as a weapon. She didn't particularly practice any martial arts that used weapons but she needed something to hit the spider with as she couldn't use her bare hands. The first things she spotted were a couple of trashcans and a manhole. Assuming she had the chance to, she would make a break for them and try to grab either a trashcan lid or a manhole cover.
