Chaos is known as the being that never became a star. It is everywhere and yet nowhere at the same time.
Neither good nor evil, the ultimate expression of nothingness. The antithesis of the cosmos, creation itself.
Although Chaos claims to be the very state of existence from which the first entities appeared, it cannot form into the entity it wants most.
So it has been cursed to stay in the form of a dark and shapeless void. Floating between existence and nonexistence.
Longingly watching as stars are constantly born and lives are lived. The seeds of malice had been planted, flourished and transformed Chaos into the purest form of evil.
[attr="class","nologicpost1"] In the snow storm that has been continuing for days, a figure walks through the snow, his tracks quickly covered up by the wind and white powder. Julius wondered if it was possible to build up an immunity of the cold from this. Ever since this snowstorm, he had been wearing at least five layers of clothing, boots and even an ear muff he had recently bought for himself. Yet, he still felt himself shivering as his investigation continued on. He had been spending what free time he had trying to find the cause from this, having even used that website Oscar had showed him before this storm.[break][break]
The number of dead ends and false stories was rather demotivating. Unfortunately, Julius did not exactly have any other leads at the moment and therefore had no choice. There were reasons why he was a prosecutor but not an investigator. His breath was visible in the cold blizzard as he looked around. A person had stated there was a figure that could be seen in the snowstorm unaffected by the weather. When they had tried to call out to the figure, it had simply disappeared. Once again it had only been one person and it could very well mean nothing. A small prank someone had decided to do online but it was the only lead Julius had.[break][break]
As much as he appreciated snow, he would do just about anything to get rid of the storm at the moment. And that was when he saw a shadow of a figure within the storm. Was that the person? After all not many would actually go out in the storm, especially when school was closed. Those who did go out often used vehicles and for good reasons. Julius pushed on and as he got near the figure, he saw it was someone with blond hair and not that strange feeling that Julius has been feeling too often lately. "Who...are you?" he asked not exactly bothering with any greetings. Not when this person could very well be the one behind this snow storm even without that strange feeling. Why else would they be out here?

[attr="class","hal1txt"] It wouldn't be strange if the average onlooker mistook Kei for a daring burglar. After all, not only is he wearing black winter clothes with a hat to boot, he carries a half-empty bag with him as he walks around the neighborhood at a time where most would stay within the safety of their homes. What's more, the moment he becomes aware of Julius' presence, he seemingly panics, quickly stuffing something inside the bag and closing the zipper. Should the newcomer have a sharp enough vision, he would be able to snatch a glance at a few of its contents: A book with an ominous cover -taking up the most space-, and a surprisingly diverse array of powders stored in small plastic vials. While certainly suspicious, nothing there vaguely resembled loot. [break][break] "I... Could ask you the same question." [break][break] It takes a moment for Morikawa to regain his composure, but he is swift to counter-attack. The two of them are complete strangers, so unless the man has a good reason, he is not obligated to give an account of what he was doing in the middle of a snowstorm. Perhaps, if he had approached him in a less threatening way, Kei would have replied honestly. For all Morikawa knows, the man could be the bad guy! [break][break] "..." [break][break] After a moment of silence, however, it becomes clear that he won't leave him alone. And that is a problem, because working gets incredibly hard when a couple of glaring eyes are following your every move. The solution? Probably not a better one that simply telling him the truth. Not many are interested in his line of work, in fact, a lot of people are put off the moment they hear about it, distancing themselves. [break][break] "My name is Kei Morikawa. I'm here to investigate a potentially supernatural sighting, at a client's request." [break][break] Well, not everything he just said is true. He is indeed there to study the possibility of paranormal activity, but he came here on his own free will. You would have expected clients to come rushing into his office after the city they live in is suddenly caught in a seemingly never-ending snowstorm, but reality always leads to the most simple and boring outcome... Nobody came, because nobody would bother to walk all the way to his office with this weather. So he searched some websites he was already acquainted with for clues, and then set off to see what conclusions he could reach after exploring the field. [break][break] "Now, Mystery Man, unless you are interested in hearing what I've found, I'd recommend you get a move on. You'll catch a cold if you stay out here too long." [break][break] julius vesper
[attr="class","nologicpost1"] Gray eyes caught the rushed movement of someone shoving something away...obviously trying to hide something. What that something was, however, was a mystery to Julius. One that he intended to solve. He decided to ask for who this blond male was first though, a name was usually something good to start with. Julius merely stared back, it wasn't that he would have minded giving the man his name but the fact that the other had not given his away or even seem to show any worry or concern that another person was in the storm spoke of suspicion. In other words, he was as suspicious of Julius as Julius was of him. [break][break]
A paranormal investigator? That sounded like something out of a cartoon. If he was an investigator though...did that mean that he had magic? The male had spoken of a client...was that the person who had given him the power? Once again, the moniker of 'mystery man' was given to Julius. Was that what people commonly call strangers now?[break][break]
"Julius," he introduced himself with a curt nod, "prosecutor. Who is your client...and what is in your bag?" he asked slightly tilting his head at an angle to see the bag easier...even if he couldn't fully see what was in its content.
[newclass=.nologicimg]height:70px;width:70px;padding:15px;background-color:#222222;border-radius:100%;float:left;margin:20px 25px 0px -35px;[/newclass]
[attr="class","hal1txt"] "!" [break][break] Morikawa Kei does not know how to read minds, nor is he skilled enough to tell when someone is telling a lie a hundred percent of the time. He did not become an investigator because he had been born with an outstanding ability to solve mental puzzles, rather it was the undeniable attraction to mystery and 'the unknown' that led him to follow said career path. However, even he can tell, through tone and body language alone, that Julius has not just made an attempt to deceive him. The commanding aura around him exudes authority and makes it hard to doubt his words. What's more, not obeying his request now carries the possibility of leading him to trouble; the least thing a Japanese youth wants within the borders of a foreign country. To think that, of all people, he would bump into an officer of the law... [break][break] "Just what's needed to do my job. Nothing illegal." [break][break] After leaving it clear with a gesture that he would hand over the bag to him, he tosses it for Julius to catch. Even if the man does not respond properly and allows it to fall to the snowy ground, there is nothing inside that runs the risk of breaking, so there is nothing to worry about. Inside, Julius would find a book and several powders kept in plastic vials. Honestly, the most suspicious looking is the one that contains chalk powder, but just a careful look at it would reveal it is far cry from being an illegal substance. [break][break] "If you've seen a couple of movies, you know the drill. You'll need those if you want to call 'them' in... But mostly, you want to use those to keep 'them' out." [break][break] Naturally, the most prominent item in there is a big book, its cover seemingly made out of 'human flesh'. Or rather, what's supposed to be a poor imitation of it. The idea is for it to look dark and ominous. At first glance, it would look like a book of hexes, a grimmoire of dark arts, a tome of forbidden wisdom. Should Julius open it however, he would find it to be no more and no less than a notebook. Drawings, sloppy handwritten and even added sticky notes flood almost every page. For someone not well-acquainted with the world of the arcane, though, it's mostly gibberish. [break][break] As for the other topic at hand, Kei certainly needs a quick way out. After all, everyone there but Julius' already knows that no client hired the so called private investigator. He came here on his own. [break][break] "As for who requested my services... I afraid I cannot give you that information. Client confidentiality." [break][break] Morikawa's understanding of the law enforcement system in New Paris is poor at best, but he's seen enough movies and TV shows to make up for it. Even so, it must take quite a lot of courage to say that to a prosecutor... [break][break] "So... Julius, right? ... You working on a case?" [break][break] julius vesper
[attr="class","nologicpost1"] Julius caught the bag and opened it to look inside. Books, vials of powder...honestly they seemed to be like one of those books that were sold in bookstores. The ones that talked about discovering dragons or unicorns along with spells. The male had never bought any of those himself but he knew a few who had those as a child. He had never understood it and to this day even with the discovery of magic, he still didn't. If magic was so secretive, why would some major company sell those out such information? He had also never seen any magic that actually used vials like witches and wizards but then again...maybe such spells were actually possible. The male made a mental note to ask Io the next time he hands his grief seeds over.[break][break]
"Who is them?" he asked as he took out a book and squinted at its content. It was filled with rather...less than stellar handwriting, to say the least, notes and pictures. Nothing Julius could really make one way or another. Gently, he placed the book back in not wanting to disturb the rest of the male's possessions even if said male had thrown it at him. The prosecutor walked over completely closing their distance and held the bag in front of him for Kei to take.[break][break]
The name of the client was not given due to client confidentiality as Kei had put it. Julius could very well threaten to put him in jail if he wanted. He knew a few prosecutors who had used that tactic to get people talking, those that they did not consider to be the suspect but could very well be a lead. However, this wasn't a criminal case and Julius would be unable to do anything should the blond take his chances. The two-toned haired male gave a nod, "yes." In the loosest sense of the meaning anyway. A case was nothing more than a phenomenon to be investigated and therefore the meaning could be quite fluid. This was very well a case, it was just not a criminal case.[break][break]
"Walk with me," Julius stated before taking a few steps towards a cafe, "I have a few questions."
