Chaos is known as the being that never became a star. It is everywhere and yet nowhere at the same time.
Neither good nor evil, the ultimate expression of nothingness. The antithesis of the cosmos, creation itself.
Although Chaos claims to be the very state of existence from which the first entities appeared, it cannot form into the entity it wants most.
So it has been cursed to stay in the form of a dark and shapeless void. Floating between existence and nonexistence.
Longingly watching as stars are constantly born and lives are lived. The seeds of malice had been planted, flourished and transformed Chaos into the purest form of evil.
Ayakka squinted at the smoldering embers of the trash she had spotted on her way home. For the life of her she'd never understood how the hell fires managed to burn so much during the middle of winter. Even in the middle of a blizzard like this. Still, a few handfuls of snow and some good aim solved that one quickly. Except...[break][break]
"Oh find me in the alps...." Ayakka squinted, trying to find her way back onto the road she'd been walking home on. Granted, walking through a blizzard was...well it was asking for it, but cab fair was expensive. And she'd a bit to drink so it was at least kind of warm. "Tally ho I guess?" Ayakka paused midstep, a though striking her as she considered what country she was living in. "What would I say in French?" Shrugging to herself, Ayakka continued on what she hoped was forward. [break][break]
"Huh?" Straining her eyes against the elements Ayakka saw, to her delight, another person! A Christmas miracle, the fire fighter concluded. "HEY! HEY YOU! WAIT UP!" As quickly as her feet would carry her slightly drunken self Ayakka ran forward, leaving a flurry of snow behind her. "ARE YOU LOST TOO?" With more energy then their dismal surroundings called for, Ayakka came to a screeching halt as the excitement washed over her.
You know... This snow just made transportation awful, whoever thought that chaos would be better off in the snow had clearly lost their mind. This.. made it near to next impossible for him to gather starseeds, not that... He.. Actually ever did.. yet. He really really should fix that, somehow... Second thought, maybe Marceline would just leave him alone if he failed, right?
Walking in the blizzard, avoiding the best he could... Random gusts of Heavy winds, he made his way back home, again his driving expertise was absolute zero in this type weather... He tried couple days ago, almost made it into a wreck, thanks to timing alone he survived. The last thing he'd had expected was a female screaming, "HEY! HEY YOU! WAIT UP!" He paused almost slipping, "Huh!?" He asked looking around to see some sort of woman heading right for him, cheeks looking read, large black pigtails, and clothing covering most of her body. The thing that stood out, was her warmth and light, why.. How. It was one of those the people he was suppose to steal their lights.. The magic users. Why did this town have so damn many?!
His white windbreaker jacket practically covered in snow from teh woman's sudden stop, screaming about being lost too. Lost? She was lost? The woman came off way to excited, and happy for this horrid cold weather. "Uhh.. well no.. My home right over... there..." He said not quite thinking as he said it, pointing to his apartment he lived at. Brain overloaded by her energy... How could somebody have so much energy in this weather? Practically felt like an old skeleton walking, barely making it alive. "Who.. Who.. Are you?" He asked still struggling how Magic Users just came out of nowhere, did he put off some sort of signal? Hey Killer, come here to die.
It was the alcohol talking, she was fairly sure about that, but something about the guy seemed off. A little off, but eh what did she care? Human contact in this kind of weather was exactly what Ayakka was looking for, and lo and behold! Some poor, unfortunate soul was stuck out here like her! And they just happened to be stuck in her path! Never look a gift horse in the mouth indeed. [break][break]
Ignoring the surprised yelp that came out of the man's mouth Ayakka unabashedly looked the man up and down. Something about him looked oddly, intensely aggravating. Like he couldn't catch a hint to save his life. Shrugging to herself, Ayakka went back to bothering her fellow wanderer. Except...[break][break]
"Uhh.. well no.. My home right over... there..." Her face slightly soured, feeling the heat in her cheeks drain a bit. She needed more whiskey to make it through this storm. "Who.. Who.. Are you?" [break][break]
"Hmm, local fire fighter Ayakka Atland at your service." Ayakka grabbed the man's freezing cold hand as she vigorously shook it. Grinning broadly, she continued her little shtick. "Currently lost in a snowstorm, but worry not citizen. I shall escort you to your home and make sure you arrive safely." And to entertain her, but that was more of a bonus for her rather then for the black haired man. "So do you wander around blizzards often or is this a once in a while kind of thing Mister.....?" Checking her pocket, Ayakka confidentially noted the little canister sitting in her pocket, full of that precious liquid that made this whole freezing cold a lot more bearable. Just enough to walk the nice man to his house and make it home. "You didn't happen to see someone set a trashcan on fire did you? I have to make a report when i start tomorrow..."
"Hmm, local fire fighter Ayakka Atland at your service." He eyed her a bit confused as to why a drunken firefighter was out in about during a blizzard, maybe this female was kidnapped? Dropped off? He looked away from the female vigorously almost forcefully shaking his hand, eyes attempting to find some familiar face in the snow. Was this a trap? To see what he would do? Would he be punished later, that crazed girl he met at the bar... Definitly the crazed type to pull such a trap.
The Woman continued her dialogue making him give a small tired sigh, why was she acting such a hero? He was suppose to murder people like her, "Uhh... Sure...Hi.. Ayakka?" "Currently lost in a snowstorm, but worry not citizen. I shall escort you to your home and make sure you arrive safely." Maybe this was his chance right here? Drunk woman, willingly... Practically throwing herself onto a platter asking to take him home. Just smear some goo, shove her into the door.. bam easy victim, then where would he hide the body? Ugh, then his brother would find out randomly during family Christmas visit. Why was he over thinking this? "So do you wander around blizzards often or is this a once in a while kind of thing Mister.....?"
She continued on, did she ever stop blabbering? Slowly he began to lead her to his house, as she went on about blizzards. "Well.. You see... I almost got into a wreck... Walking, seemed safer.." Saying it outloud... He almost felt it was a bad idea, walking in a blizzard. "Yo-you..." He asked her just as she asked questions about some fire in a trashcan. "Trashcan? A homeless man?" The question coming out confused as to why fires in trashcans were bad... In this weather... "I-I don't really know?" He followed up hoping that would help even a little more.
A little further, he needed to learn more about her.. Befriend her.. Right? That's how it works.. lure them by being trustworthy... Or did you just stab into people's chest with your hand and make arun for it? Right cameras. Why... Was this complicatd. "You.. uhh help save people right? So, is that why you're out in a blizzard....Saving.." He gave a small gulp lips feeling dry from the weather, "People?" Great.. Now he just felt guilty, were all magic users heroes? No wonder it'd help chaos ending them...
If Ayakka were sober, she would wonder why the man acted so nervously. And then brush it off and keep talking, albeit a little slower. Even if the person she was talking to was hardly talking back, that was fine. Oddly enough, something about him made it easier to have a heavily one-sided conversation, almost like she expected him to only grunt, nod and speak in only a handful of words. She even only made a small face at the fact that he also seemed to miss her dig at trying to find out what his name was. Ayakka stopped half-step as the word 'also' dug into her brain. [break][break]
"Meh." Shaking it off as nothing, she continued following the black haired man that was yet to be named. Talking his ear off as per her favorite pastime.[break][break]
"Well.. You see... I almost got into a wreck... Walking, seemed safer.." Oh, Ayakka fished around her pockets as looking for a notepad. Somewhere in her addled mind, she had a thought to write down that tidbit and try and report that later. As it was, all she accomplished was knocking out the silver flask she held in her pocket. "Yo-you..." Barely paying, Ayakka turned around and picked up the flask, taking a quick swig as she felt the chill creep into her bones again."I-I don't really know?"[break][break]
"Eh it'll sort itself out right? I don't see anymore burning trashcans so that means its good right?" Her fuzzy brain somehow blurted out.[break][break]
"You.. uhh help save people right? So, is that why you're out in a blizzard....Saving.." Ayakka hiccuped, the action interrupting the words she was forming. "People?" Instead she chose to wave halfheartedly. [break][break]
"You see, normally you'd be right." Ayakka proudly presented the silver flask in her hand. "However today was my day off! And I wanted to forget something so I decided to be a responsible adult and drink my troubles away Mister! Oh!" Noticing the man gulp, Ayakka sighed dramatically. "You should've said something if you wanted some. Drink up my friend! Drink! I've had plenty already!" Thrusting the silver flask into the man's hand, Ayakka watched expectantly as she continued talking. "Oh oh, before I forget what's your name? You seem kinda...familiar...?"
The woman seemed to shuffling suddenly, what was she doing? He backed off suddenly worried she planned to throw something at him.. Or attack him.. Or scream.. Or... Something? What he got instead was a silver flask on the ground, her clumsily turning around to pick it up... Taking a swig. What was... Why did she.. He was completely baffled by her very existence and actions, to the point of actually taking a bit of pity on her. Maybe she should just sleep at his apartment? Till she felt even a little better? No need... For somebody to take advantage of a young lady like her...
"Eh it'll sort itself out right? I don't see anymore burning trashcans so that means its good right?"
The words came spilling out, followed by her hiccuping and the words built up escaping to nothingness. "Eer.." Was all he could struggle in reply to all her dizzy actions, happy she ansered about normally... Yes.. Saving people.. That today was her day off, and was being... Responsible? By drinking? What? He felt confused, "wha-what.. Did yo-" He stopped midsentence as she suddenly mentioned about taking a drink, and calling him a friend. His eyes growing wide as her hands practically thrusted a silver flask into his hand. Wha...What.... Her large amber eyes watching studiously... Unfocused.. At him.. Making him wonder she truly planned to make him drink her backwash... Luckily.. She suddenly spouted more words at him asking his name. He sighed holding the flask back at her, "No thank you. You're drunk enough for the both of us.... Alex.. My name is... Alex."
He mumbled a bit under his breath about her drunkness getting rather... aggrevating. Before turning to see his apartment building right within reach, "Oh good.. We're here.." The voice was clear cut thankful at reaching their end goal. He pulled the door keys, the moment they reached the apartment door. Unlocked the lock, holding the door open. "Di-did you want to stay... At least till tomorrow? Storm really bad.. and you seem... Uhh.." He scratched the back of his neck refusing to meet her eyes, blush raising. "Tipsy..."
Timid. He was too timid! Ayakka flared up internally, trying to bring out the lion in her walking buddy. It was days like these where yelling and swinging around made a person feel warm and alive inside! Also didn't hurt to have a constant supply of hard liquor in case the positive reinforcement wasn't working. [break][break]
"No thank you. You're drunk enough for the both of us.... Alex.. My name is... Alex." Which was odd, because it seemed Alex was refusing to warm up. Well, his loss he could freeze his ass off and Ayakka would only be somewhat worried about the man. [break][break]
"Eh, yeah I guess...I might have partied a little too hardy..." Damn brain cells wouldn't forget as quickly as she wanted to, so she had to take drastic measures. Her liver was certainly going to antagonize her, but that was the price she had to pay for the reward she was looking for."But how else am I supposed to forget about friggin Julius? I'm young! My memory is still good!" Sighing to herself, Ayakka tucked the silver flask back into her pants pocket. "I mean the only way I can face that guy again is if I pretend I barely remember him." Still following Alex, Ayakka stamped her foot into the snow in impotent frustration. "I'm telling you, without this? Next time I see that guy, it'd be awkward as hell."[break][break]
"Oh good.. We're here.." Ayakka looked up, notably surprised they had reached their destination so quickly. "Di-did you want to stay... At least till tomorrow? Storm really bad.. and you seem... Uhh.." Ayakka squinted at Alex. "Tipsy..."[break][break]
"Are you accusing me, Ayakka, of being tipsy Alex?" Ayakka fixed the admittedly taller man with a look that was underscored by the redness of her cheeks. "Because I will have you know I am plastered good sir! And I appreciate your offer. But!" Ayakka dramatically held up a finger, emphasizing her point. "You cant catch me off guard that easily! I may be piss drunk, but I know a fast one when I see one!"[break][break]
Any sense of shame long since gone, Ayakka continued her tirade on Alex's porch. [break][break]
"What would you do if I was a murderer? Huh?" Her brain had been on to something. Its just that her brain was currently firing off the wrong neurons. "Buuuuuut if you wanna let me stay inside till the storm dies and I can get a cab....?"
"Eh, yeah I guess...I might have partied a little too hardy..."
A little too hardy? He rolled his eyes just imagining what this type of girl could do at a bar. It definitly was not the 'fun' 'hardy' type he was interested in.
"But how else am I supposed to forget about friggin Julius? I'm young! My memory is still good!"
Wait, Julius? This made him pause, was it his brother she was referring to? He looked at her completely baffled trying to figure out what his brother an organized prosecutor would want to upset somebody? Maybe she understood? Maybe they were dating, note to self call and check.... "I mean the only way I can face that guy again is if I pretend I barely remember him." He wasn't sure how to respond to it, deciding to pocket that information... maybe he could help the woman out? Erase her memories? Would that help? What if his brother actually liked her though. No wait, it probably wasn't his brother after all hundreds of Julius.. After all... "I'm telling you, without this? Next time I see that guy, it'd be awkward as hell."
WHAT HAPPENED?! He couldn't help but wonder, deciding to ask. If possible after he was home.. Was it just pure conciendence that this julius with powers, met this woman as well? Was Magic users just naturally attracted to each other? Or was the whole city magical? No wait... He'd sense that, it wasn't... He wasn't going crazy...
"Are you accusing me, Ayakka, of being tipsy Alex?"
She turned toward him with a harsh longated look that while made it pretty obvious she was wasted, really really made him flinch back in fear. She was definintly not somebody to piss off, and definitly not the type to trust with your wine cellar.
"Because I will have you know I am plastered good sir! And I appreciate your offer. But!"
She held up her finger dramatically, once more making him shiver in a slight edge of fear. When did he start fearing women? Was it just that he was running into these strong persona types? Or just.. You know, he decided to let that one go.
. "You cant catch me off guard that easily! I may be piss drunk, but I know a fast one when I see one!"
Before he could even have a chance to respond she was already asking if she was a murderer, and he feared for a quick moment she planned to kill him on the spot. How dare he even think of asking a lady over. What was he? A moron? A large blush crossed his face as uncertainty filled it all over, maybe this girl was a bad idea? Besides... Wasn't he suppose to be the murderer here? not her.... Was she? Was that her beef with his brother? Trying to put her in jail.. Some sort of secret killer on the side of saving people.... She didn't read that way.. So. "Buuuuuut if you wanna let me stay inside till the storm dies and I can get a cab....?"
He wasn't sure how to respond to her at all, quickly blaming her drunkness for all the problems he was having on the walk back home. "Yes... You can leave when the storm dies." He commented voice coming off exhuasted and definintly already tired of her drunkness antics.
Quickly unlocking the door to his apartment, fingers crossed for no unexpected visitors, a thing happening him quite recently. He walked in turned on the light, enjoying the warmth flowing from inside. "Make yourself at home." The comment coming out as he dropped off his jacket and supplies, getting more comfortable.
Once sitting down and feeling much better, he decided to ask her the very serious questions from before. "What did this Julius do to you, anyway?"
ooc: Sorry for terrible skippy post... I was playing mobile games at exact same time writing this.... and sneezing badly...
This was fun. She was having fun. Wandering lost through the blizzard had sucked, but hey she found an interesting person to talk to while she waited out the storm. And he was even nice enough to let her into his house and not leave her frozen like a jerk! Ayakka nodded to herself. People were great. Alex was good company, even if he seemed like he was one stressful thought away from a panic attack. He needed to calm down a bit, maybe have a drink. [break][break]
"Yes... You can leave when the storm dies." Nodding once to signal she understood, Ayakka followed Alex inside and took in his house. In her bleary glory, Ayakka noted the feeling of...comfortableness that emanated from the place. Like it was, or is, well lived in. "Make yourself at home."[break][break]
"Appreciate the assist Alex." Ayakka called out after him.[break][break]
Gently, Ayakka took off her snow boots and set them side by side away from the main door. In case Alex was expecting anymore company. With a sigh, Ayakka comfortably wedged herself in a chair and stared at Alex as he tried to clear something out of his throat. Before she was fully settled in, Ayakka eyes settled a piece of...something stuck to the armrest of the chair she sat in...and decided to ignore it. [break][break]
"What did this Julius do to you, anyway?" A pout formed on Ayakka's face as she hazily recalled the events of that night. [break][break]
"He tied me up!" Ayakka yelled, throwing her hands in the air. "I trust him and go out and a limb and you know what he does?" Ayakka mimicked a tugging motion as she copied Julius' voice to the best of her ability. "He goes all COME WITH ME and drags me away. You think being a prosecutor would mean he knew how to say please but no its all awkwardly direct questions and rope with that guy." She was paraphrasing, and drunk, but Ayakka felt Alex would get the point. "I mean that whole...thing was just a weird ass day. Although...he was a lot thinner then I thought he would be." Ayakka stared Alex in the eye. "Now do you know why I needed the miraculous properties of alcohol to work its magic?"
She about floped on the couch, the very same couch he noticed was still yellow goo left over from his powers acting up when Noire Wynter was over forcing him to learn how to better control them. A small blusha t the thought of what had happened quickly raised to his cheeks, quickly pushing the thoughts down as she began with her story.
"He tied me up!"
Tied her up?! Who would do such a thing? Definitly not his Julius, had to be somebody out!
"I trust him and go out and a limb and you know what he does?"
Her body form changed slightly as she seemed to mock something that sound ectremely off base from expected of this random stranger. He held in a slight smile thinking she was just being overly drunk dramatic. As she went on about rope and awkward direct question. Did she just say awkward? He felt a small bile no way would it be his brother... His brother was kind sweet and cared about others. Was always nice to others, why he may seemed out of place, it seemed awfully okay to Alex. Prosecutor.... Yeah.... There was only.. one.. he knew of...
"I mean that whole...thing was just a weird ass day. Although...he was a lot thinner then I thought he would be."
Thinner? There were lots of guys thinner... Right... He felt the bile thicken there wasnt a possible way... That... She was being serious, oh gawd she was being serious... His brother.. it was his actual.. brother.. Tied her up.... And now she was asking about alcohol using its miraculous properties... to work magic.
He cleared his throat, "di-did he just ask questions? Wha-what kind of questions? " He asked uncertain... Hugely Uncertain... Was his brother really this awful? Surely not... Surely she was just drunk acting out and pictured this whole imaginary scene.. Yeah. and he is sort of cop-like... Not full cop, but enough not to hesitate to use cuffs when in danger... maybe the rope was a temporary cuff. "What did you trust him with? Yo-you really... Wish to forget about the whole encounter? Even a little? Even though its so important?"
This... This.. He could help this girl out.... Just practice his powers, he was suppose to practice right? Make her forget all about... The guy.. but... wasn't it temporary... What was the chances of her running into him again? There were thousands of this city... Chances of two magic users.. "Do-do... you believe in magic? you know the alcohol.." He flinched awkwardly moving in his chair, crap....
If Ayakka were currently in her right mind, she would've noticed the frustrated, almost panicked atmosphere that seemed to fill the room. But nope, she was blissfully, and energetically, recounting the tale of meeting a friend. Even if the friend was a bit of a dick. Sinking deeper in the couch, Ayakka brushed the yellow...something off the couch and settled in more comfortably.[break][break]
"di-did he just ask questions? Wha-what kind of questions? " Ayakka huffed. "What did you trust him with? Yo-you really... Wish to forget about the whole encounter? Even a little? Even though its so important?" [break][break]
"HE ASKED SOMETHING SUPER PERSONAL!" Ayakka emphasized, sinking deeper into the couch as she brushed the yellow something off the couch. "And I... Ayakka crossed her arms, her expression softening as a single beam of clarity sliced through the liquor haze. "I kinda just...trusted him you know? Thought I had a...good read on him, thought he was a good person... Ayakka turned into the couch, facing away from Alex as she spoke. "He's not...a bad person though. He's just...stupid. Really stupid. Like he doesn't realize all the sad things he's saying..." Ayakka scratched her head, trying to dig through the cloud she had willingly put on herself. [break][break]
"Do-do... you believe in magic? you know the alcohol.." Ayakka turned around, grinning a lopsidedly at Alex. [break][break]
"What, you got a magic wand to wave and make all my problems go away fairy godmother?" She joked, sitting herself upright as the haze slowly descended again. "I think I'm a little old to be chasing princes and go ballroom dancing though."[break][break]
"But do I wanna forget everything about meeting little ol' Julius huh?" Forget how he cornered her, even as she tried to run away. Forgot how he used his powers on her because he felt that he couldn't trust her. ...Forget about looking up and seeing some moron douse himself in a bucket of water and run into a burning building to save someone else's sibling? Her fingers closed around the silver flask in her pocket as Ayakka pulled it out and stared at it, her eyes burning into it. "...My Mom told me that there are things in life you can't pave over. Harsh, painful things that really hurt whenever you think about it. Why? Ayakka set down the flask on a table nearby. "Because you might end up burying something that meant a lot to you too." The magi paused, cocking her head to the side. [break][break]
"Although...I might've already forgotten a few things about Julius...." Ayakka shook her head, letting her pigtails shake wildly. "Meh, if its important he'll remind me right? OH! I CAN ASK HIM!" Ayakka dug around, fishing out her wallet and triumphantly pulling out a somewhat wrinkled business card. "WE CAN ASK HIM! I GOT HIS BUSINESS CARD!
Super Personal? Why would his brother get all personal with somebody? He felt a bit baffled by this very idea... Maybe he should ask his brother why he was asking this girl personal questions.. Wait did he like the girl? His brother never brought home a date or really went out of his way to LIKE a girl. A small grin crossed his face at the thought, it sounded great.
"I kinda just...trusted him you know? Thought I had a...good read on him, thought he was a good person... "
Oh! Did she like him too? Maybe the two should get together, maybe he should be like. Oh! I know this guy can totally set you two up. Then he remembered she was a magic user, she would have to be killed... That shrunk his shipping side a bit, that was.... not good.
As if sensing his personal internal battle, she turned to him suddenly seeming to focus trying to really really figure this all out.. scratching her head talking about him.... as if breaking down this new enigma.
"He's not...a bad person though. He's just...stupid. Really stupid. Like he doesn't realize all the sad things he's saying..."
Really? He never pinned his brother as one who didn't understand things.. Then you know... The more he thought about it.. maybe she was right.. He did seem more silent, but he was just observing right? Nothing too out of ordinary? Maybe she was just confused, checking him out not noticing the great emotional normal person his brother was. Yeah that was it.
"What, you got a magic wand to wave and make all my problems go away fairy godmother?"
Well.... Not want, but definitly magic goo. That was sticky and glittery that made him question every single slime container he saw at the store wondeirng why kids WANT to get into the stuff. She seemed to be joking messing around enjoying herself... Soon talking of Princes and ballroom dancing. Ha! She did like him!
"But do I wanna forget everything about meeting little ol' Julius huh?"
She seemed caught in some sort of debate, like this was a serious thing she was really taking seriously. This helped him a lot better to trust that whatever he did, it was after all her choice and he was not forcing it on her. Why was he the only one that struggled with these kinds of things? Noire just be shouting KILL HER! Experiment! Serve The Vice! Mybe it was a newbie problem? He found himself staring at his hands thinking about it his new role in this new world.
"...My Mom told me that there are things in life you can't pave over. Harsh, painful things that really hurt whenever you think about it. Why? "
He looked up to look at her flinching as the flask came down on the table with a small noice. Her words continuing about burying something that meant a lot to you.... Pausing cocking her head as if in thought about the whole thing... Speaking about forgetting already, shaking her head beside him pigtails hitting his face.
"Meh, if its important he'll remind me right? OH! I CAN ASK HIM!"
What was important? What needed to be reminded of... WAit... She held oup his card, THAT was his business card! Huh. "Ask?! You can't ask hima t this hour!" Alex quickl spoke leaning over her snatching the card from her grasp, "Especially like this... You're drunk off your ass." Practically his voice coming out in a snap at her whole mental state, setting the card on the table.
He leaned back giving her more room, fighting her should she go for the card again. "Look I know you can use magic, so would you please just let me.. help you!" He spoke softly almost in a whisper. "I-I have the ability to remove unwanted thoughts... it-it isn't permanent.... but.. you know... just... enough to ease your pains BE your Fairy Godmother!"probably forever if you'd ask me..... He thought the last part to himself with a slight grim uncertain face. What was he doing? Where was Noire to help him out.... this was just.. He was the worst subservant ever!
Ayakka looked at Alex as he snatched Julius' business card out of her hand and placed it on the table. Slowly, her head turned toward the card and her hand slowly reached towards as it as she only caught bits and pieces of what Alex was saying.[break][break]
"Especially like this... You're drunk off your ass." However Alex seemed to have other plans as Ayakka felt the push back from her attempts at contacting her friend? Acquaintance? Friend-to-be. A whining noise escaped Ayakka's mouth as she slowly slid back into Alex's couch, giving up her attempts at reacquiring the prosecutor's business card. Her mouth blew up in a pout.[break][break]
"But he said to call if we wanna talk! I wanna talk!" Ayakka pointed out, unaware of the fact that context of that conversation was most likely completely lost on Alex. [break][break]
"Look I know you can use magic, so would you please just let me.. help you!" At that, Ayakka's mouth clammed up a bit as she eyed the flask. Was...was she really that bad at keeping this a secret? Maybe...just maybe...she could convince the man to drink enough so that he'd forget it! No...wait...he'd already turned her down once. And it wasn't like he was trying to repress anything, right? "I-I have the ability to remove unwanted thoughts... it-it isn't permanent.... but.. you know... just... enough to ease your pains BE your Fairy Godmother!" Oh...OH![break][break]
"Huh...that's pretty useful actually." Ayakka remarked idly, considering her options. She looked at Alex again, eyeing the grim face he had set and decided to loosen him up. Slapping him on the back, she let out a bark of a laugh. "Cheer up buddy, its not everyday you get to meet another Magi right? ITS A CELEBRATION!" Standing up again, Ayakka excitedly grabbed the card on the table and held it up to the ceiling for all to see.[break][break]
"OH! I SHOULD CALL JULIUS AND TELL HIM! We can make a party!" In her babbling excitement and wonder, Ayakka placed her foot on the table and crumpled Julius' business card in a triumphant fist. "And I don't even have to destroy my liver and forgot who his contractor is! LOOPHOLES AHOY!"[break][break]
"So, fairy godmother, how does this power of your work? Do you transform? You got some magic words?!" Ayakka grabbed Alex by the shoulders and shook him, attempting to forcibly transfer her energy to the older man. "TELL ME YOUR SECRETS!"[break][break]
Content. That was the part of her mind that was sane could describe its feeling as. Content. There was a way forward where everyone gets to live and everyone gets to be friends. Even if...it meant lying and cheating and throwing away something that someone trusted you with...it was the best way forward. So her face crinkled into a smile. Her mouth laughed. And Ayakka felt happy that there was a way out of this. [break][break]
