Chaos is known as the being that never became a star. It is everywhere and yet nowhere at the same time.
Neither good nor evil, the ultimate expression of nothingness. The antithesis of the cosmos, creation itself.
Although Chaos claims to be the very state of existence from which the first entities appeared, it cannot form into the entity it wants most.
So it has been cursed to stay in the form of a dark and shapeless void. Floating between existence and nonexistence.
Longingly watching as stars are constantly born and lives are lived. The seeds of malice had been planted, flourished and transformed Chaos into the purest form of evil.
Damn this day had been awfully horrible, he made the big mistake of procrastinating his Magi job for far too long, and now was forced to face down creature after creature. His hands were tired, his body was beginning to ache from long over-usage without sleep, and most importantly he had class in literally ten minutes! This 1 monster looking thing just wouldn't go down, practically fought back any attack with absolute resolution to kill him! Only by pure chance he managed to get close enough to touch the thing, when it disarmed him, the thing looked too happy about its success. With the leg now getting huge rash, he successful to grab a dagger throw it right at the creature, making contact to break the creature down. The corpse fading to nothing leaving behind a small grief seed. With a large breath of relief, he picked it up, pocketed the small item.
He plumped right there on the university grassy grounds, under large tree turning from the change of season. His breathing large and heavy, sweat built up completely... Right class. He had to go to class now.. Class.. He, didn't wanna go, it was just more lessons about production of animals. A small moan and the little effort he had to sit up was completely wasted as he fell back down into the grass. The cool winter breeze blowing through made him feel awfully great.. Almost wonderful. Could just sleep here... forever..
Today the outfit of choice was blue jeans, black shirt with golden printed dragon, and his messenger bag filled with university books all scattered from sloppily falling in the grass. Somebody could probably ask if he was okay, maybe help him pick up his things, or simply happened to be passing by to say hello to this odd stranger.
[attr="class","vpostbg"]Today was going to be a long and busy day. There were too lectures she needed to go two on top of practice and a dinner with Callister and his wife Louise. The dinner tonight would be fine since it was just her family though she rarely wanted to go out after practice. Émilie simply wanted a moment to herself to unwind but that never was going to come with her schedule. As time went on, it was going to get worse. Medical school was going to get more and more demanding and she would have to balance that with family obligations and things with Roselia.
There was always the option of dropping out but that was a lie. The last thing she wanted was to give up on anything. Her family was important and silly little dinners to spend time around each other was fine by her and really weren't stressful. The restaurants Callister chose were just too fancy. Time with Roselia was really fun. Yvette was a great singer and after years of playing classical music, it was nice for Emi to use her talents for something different.
Émilie definitely didn't want to drop out of school either. Doctors were important, especially good ones. It just meant she needed to somehow find some way to deal with the hectic schedule. Perhaps there was some type of super coffee?
She was in her own head when she walked by a boy collapsed on the ground. His bags were scattered messily around as he laid on the ground. It was autumn and people didn't usually go lying around on the dead ground. Looking around, she scanned the area to see if someone knew this person or if she was reading the situation wrong. Did she really stumble on someone passed out? Setting her backpack down, Émilie walked over to the boy and crouched down. She placed her slender fingers again his neck, checking to see how strong his pulse was. He didn't look all that well. The boy looked disheveled and it was cold out side so it was hard to think he was just taking a nap. Luckily, he had a normal pulse but his breathing was shallow.
Did he need proper medical attention? Closing her eyes, she sighed lightly. Today really was going to be a long and busy day.
His dream just about ended, when he felt a probing on his neck, suddenly shot up awake with loud groan. What the? He slowly picked himself up to sitting position making more noises felt body aches all over, red eyes slowly opening up to meet up with the female before him. The light reflecting off her sweet purple hair, gentle gaze full of worry... Absolutely sickened him, "I'm fine.. I'm fine.. Get away from me...." He mumbled attempting to push her should she be close enough, further from himself. This of course only to remind him, why he was slightly napping on the grass in the first place. All those damn battles, he flinched face scrunching up, ouch ouch... Why did he push himself too far to meet quota? Why couldn't he be smart and just.. Fight 1 at a time throughout the month.
Once given room, he'll pick himself off the ground, look over at the items disorganized outside the bag. Crap! His class! He quickly pulled out the phone, releasing loud groan... He slept through half the class! Not even in class.. "Great. I messed up..." He groaned upset with himself.
[attr="class","vpostbg"]There was a collapsed, unconscious boy lying down in the cold. He went to school here because there was books and other telltale signs of him being a student. As a good citizen, Émilie had immediately checked on the boy because he could have passed out for a number of reasons. There could have been a head injury, low blood pressure, low blood sugar, or just his body temperature dropping dangerously low that would have him out like this. People didn't go around lying on the ground almost the dead autumn leaves.
And yet, the moment she showed concern, the boy's eyes flickered open and she was immediately met with disgust and complaints. Under her breath, she cursed her fate. Rude people were far from her favorite. The purple hair girl had a disdain for those who were unnecessarily rude and ill-mannered but she didn't react to this boy's obvious crude behavior Instead, she studied as he moved.
His reactions were slow but it was possible the grogginess of sleep was causing it. It was when his face contorted to show he was in pain that she knew something was wrong. ”You are rude and a liar,” she said bluntly as he moved and got himself up. Slowly, Émilie lifted her feet as she watched him get his belongings and claim he messed up. She agreed that the messed up but she wasn't sure what he meant. The groan he made could have been in pain or it could have been a reaction to stress. It was hard to tell.
At this rate, she was going to be late to her lecture trying to dissect his reactions. Still, it was best to watch him since he didn't look healthy. ”If you messing up is related to class, I'm sure any professor will understand if you're late or miss a class due to poor health,” she added as she stared at him. Was he younger or was he just an undergraduate? She had no idea but she also didn't plan to ask things like that. It really didn't matter. What mattered was to make sure he didn't collapse again the moment she turned her back.
He released another groan, just as the woman that seemed to just not leave, why was she even still here? Sure, the professor would understand, what about all the times he were absent. Know what, maybe she had a point, he only had to ace the tests right? Not like the guy even took attendance, not like he skipped all those times already. What's 1 damn more. His composure dropped absolutely losing all care for making it on class on time, or even wishing to try to do so.
He turned toward the woman with the long purple hair, she was smart one, ehh? "Sure he will, just as he believed all those absence excuses not wanting to get out of bed. Why are you still here? Not like you know me or anything, why the hell do you even care?" There he did it, trying to send another miserable person in his life away soon as he possibly could. Right after this one showed she had brains, just too bad, mom certainly be upset.
He gave a small yawn, even after the nap he felt exhausted, really should just head home... Take a warm shower, good long bath, and tons of acetaminophen. Yep... another day. Maybe work tomorrow, maybe not. "I'll be going then." he said rudely, attempting to walk off with slight of hand. His body clearly limping and dragging, clearly needing a rest... Possibly a small cup of coffee, or medicine now. Stubborn ass.
[attr="class","vpostbg"]Émilie didn't like this person; she didn't know his name and she really didn't want learn it. His general attitude was poor and it rubbed her the wrong way. Her eyes closed as she exhaled slowly. Despite her annoyance, she didn't leave but she didn't answer him. This annoying boy could bark at her all she wanted. There was no rule saying a doctor had to like the people they helped. Something was clearly wrong with this boy and Émilie was simply trying to determine if this was something she needed to worry about or not.
Instead of talking to him like a normal person and expressing concern, she decided to study him like a test case. Her violet eyes scanned his body as he yawned and started to limp away. “Uneven distribution of body weight,” she comment. “Obvious signs of fatigue.” Turning around, she grabbed her backpack and started digging out her phone so she could take proper notes instead it all being mental notes. ”Mood swings,” she added as she rubbed her thumb and index finger together to feel the lack of natural oils on the finger that made contact with his neck. “Fainting and clammy skin.”
The light assessment pointed to a few different possibilities. Vasovagal Syncope. The boy could have had fainting spells which was very dangerous to let him simply walk off alone. Such a thing was usually related to other health factors but she didn't have a full medical history in front of her along with a list of medications he was on so she wouldn't know. The symptoms could also be hypothyroidism or hypoglycemia but both needed blood test to confirm. Émilie sighed. The simplest answer was exhaustion and dehydration but it really didn't matter.
All the choices pointed towards a high probability that he would collapse under his own weight from pushing himself to act tough or simply faint again as he body lacked the energy to support his abrupt movements. The girl sighed as she started scrolling though her phone, asking a classmate to take notes for her since there was an emergency she might have to deal with soon.
Meanwhile, the grumpy boy seemed bothered that she was still around, watching him. “Don't mind me. I'm waiting for you to lose consciousness again due to extreme physical exhaustion,” she commented as wondered if she should call a car to come get her so he could be taken to somewhere on campus. The nurse's office would be a good place to take him so he could lie somewhere and get something like juice to help his blood sugar recover. She hummed lightly. When he collapsed, she definitely should call a car.
She easily followed, easily made comments, easily causing him to flinch every little single damn comment she made. Was it that obvious all those battles had taken a toll on him? No.. This whole magic thing was taking a toll on him... "I'm fine" He said more desperately, more to convince himself.. more to pretend the mental issues lurking his mind weren't growing.
walking couple steps further he felt his mind growing dizzy, just as she answered his question about losing consciousness.... Shit... This was absolutely embarrassing! He looked around, soon finding himself leaning on the nearest questionable fancy University Artwork. He placed his hand on his head, trying to focus even just a little.. It kinda burned, his body pushing itself. "I'll be fine..." He mumbled again, trying once more to convince himself. Only to fail releasing a moan, body moving to lean on the stone artwork just a bit, the cool surface feeling rather nice.
"Alright, Miss Doctor Stalker. What do you suggest? I just sit here? Call the overpriced ambulance for what.. tiredness... Just. What do you think I should do?" He asked.. There he did it, being completely honest to them both. Life sucked, just sucked.
[attr="class","vpostbg"]He took a few wobbly steps and complained that he was fine. Émilie followed behind but from a large enough distance that if he did fall she wouldn't be there to help him from hitting the ground. “Definitely not fine,” she countered easily. If he was trying to fool somebody then he really should have tried someone who didn't know how the human body worked. The symptoms she could see from being around him for such a limited time made it easy to see though his bravado.
The lies continued, however. He had stopped and leaned against a moral as he continued to insist that he was fine. Meanwhile, a hand reached for his head so he was either dizzy or he had a headache. It was another point for the categories of dehydration, hypothyroidism, and hypoglycemia. A loud, exasperated sigh escaped her lips. “You won't.” If he did continue pushing himself then she wouldn't be calling the campus nursing center but a real ambulance since he would likely need to be monitored to make sure he didn't have a concussion on top of everything else.
The male let out a loud groan as he seemed to finally gave up and turned to her for advice. She didn't like being called Miss Doctor Stalker since she wasn't a doctor or stalker. Émilie wasn't a doctor or a stalker. If she was a doctor then she would demand a whole lot more respect than this boy was likely capable of. That was beside the point. “Wait about five minutes...” she told him, explaining nothing. Like a responsible adult, she had already assessed the situation and took steps to make sure he would receive aid.
Within give minutes, a small golf cart like vehicle came towards them. Émilie made sure to wave the man down so he knew that they were the people he was looking for. He parked beside them, causing her to sigh in relief as a human with manners might have shown up. “If you could please help me with assisting him into the cart, that would be lovely. He has fainted once already,” she explained. There was likely to be protests or him attempting to fight off the help since he seemed to be a grumpy and prideful creature. Still, getting him in the cart so they could be driven to the nurse's station was the first step to getting rid of her like he wanted. All he had to do was get proper care and she would have no reason to worry and he could go and become someone else's problem.
Wait five minutes? He gave her a rather quizzical look curious as to what she had planned under her sleeve. Well he waited, that was the hard part... Waiting. He could have walked further, been at least partial way home by now... Maybe not far.. but somewhat feeling accomplished! A golf cart came into view, he stared at it.. She didn't... she didn't he thought to himself, looking over to her heart pounding, her arm moving to get the cart's attention. SHE DID! He released another disappointed just utterly... Disbelief groan, shaking his head, why did this... Woman.. Have to be so damn nosy?!
He slightly facepalmed, as she gave the orders for the to help him. "I'm fine I can do it. hank you" He grumbled with teeth barring fighting each step, the movements only making the others all the more determined to talk him out of it. Explaining no he isn't fine, he fainted. "Just tiredness!" he whined and complained, but they managed to get him into the cart.... Him sitting in the seat grumbling and complaining, "Why won't anyone damn listen to me?"
[attr="class","vpostbg"]He gave her a confused look but the rude boy didn't take any actions to leave the area. She just stood there with her arms folded and a deep frown as she looked at the unhealthy subject. It was ashamed she wouldn't be able to see if her analysis of his health was correct or not. With a nurse's aide coming here, there was no need for her to watch over the reckless boy. Someone with more professional experience would be able to care for him; it was for the best since his attitude bothered her and Emilie's presence didn't seem to make anything better.
The cart finally arrived and she waved it down only for her to hear him groaning behind her. Why was he so against being helped? The purple haired girl wasn't even going to be the one treating him and he still had such a bad attitude. As the aide parked, she explained the exhausted patient would need assistance and he immediately protested. In fact, the lie of him being fine was once against delivered and she rolled her eyes. ”He's not. He fainted.” Another loud shout bellowed from the rude male as he suggested that he was just tired.
He was so tired that he took naps in the dead grass covered in leaves with his back dropped and books astray because he meant for all that – it couldn't be that he fainted. Émilie sighed as she rubbed her temples. “If you think it's simply tiredness than you'll be allowed to rest in the nurse's station,” she explained, trying to see if logic would make him quiet down. “If it's due to blood sugar or thyroid issues, they'll be able to help you with a drink till you're feeling less dizzy. Either way, it's the safest suggestion.” Alerting the university something was wrong would get someone to look after him so they wouldn't be liable for something terrible happening to him on their campus.
Émilie's attempts to reason with the ignorant male didn't work. He whined the whole time. “Don't be so incredulous in the face of help,” she groaned. It didn't matter. Once he was in the cart, the aide thanked her for her assistant before driving off with the exhausted stranger.
Thank the gods he was someone else's problem now.
“Sigh...” she complained. Her body felt tense from having to deal with such a disagreeable person for so long. She rolled her shoulder before looking at her phone. She was late for class now. “Well then, hopefully I didn't miss too much,” she whispered to herself as she continued her way to class.
