Chaos is known as the being that never became a star. It is everywhere and yet nowhere at the same time.
Neither good nor evil, the ultimate expression of nothingness. The antithesis of the cosmos, creation itself.
Although Chaos claims to be the very state of existence from which the first entities appeared, it cannot form into the entity it wants most.
So it has been cursed to stay in the form of a dark and shapeless void. Floating between existence and nonexistence.
Longingly watching as stars are constantly born and lives are lived. The seeds of malice had been planted, flourished and transformed Chaos into the purest form of evil.

[attr="class","nikki109"]Much to Merlin's shame he hadn't actually noticed the boy until he spoke up. The sound of a voice that wasn't his own catching him by surprise. In spite of this though the wizard was strangely composed. He canceled the spell he had been attempting to cast prior. His body turning to face the young man with a smile spread across his face. "Oh you heard all of that did you?" he inquired but it seemed quite clear that he wasn't expecting a reply. "How best to handle this situation?" this young man was in truth the first person Merlin had talked with outside of Jayce himself. He was slightly worried that his conversational skills were, much like his magic, rusty.[break][break]
He placed his hands behind his back interlocking his fingers together as he looked the boy over. It didn't take much for Merlin to figure out that the man before him was quite a bit older than Jayce. He was well-dressed as well, which Merlin assumed to mean that the man at least had his life together. And yet, what exactly was he doing out here in the middle of nowhere? A question Merlin knew could just as easily be asked of himself. Before he got to that though he had another more important matter to address. He cleared his throat before opening his mouth to speak. "I did indeed say Merlin and Arthur." he didn't quite see the need to lie at this point. He had clearly not only heard him but also had seen him cast his offensive spell.[break][break]
"I am the wizard Merlin. Court Wizard of Camelot and right hand to the once and future king Arthur Pendragon." he held himself tall as he spoke his name and title. Not that they meant anything in this day and age but that didn't mean he couldn't be proud of them. "It's a pleasure." he added as he finished. It was then that Merlin began to move. Walking in circles around the young man as he examined him further. He couldn't help but the faint sense of magic emitting from the boy. Was he perhaps a Magi? Or even a Nobelesss? He surely couldn't have been one of the agents of Chaos. There didn't seem to be any ill-intent coming from the boy. "I ask that you forgive my current appearance. As I'm sure you've guessed by now this is not my original body." he stopped moving once he was directly in front of the man once again.[break][break]
"I'm afraid that I find myself at a bit of disadvantage now. For you know my name but I do not know yours." a not so subtle hint that Merlin wished to know whom he was speaking with.

[attr="class","nikki109"]Merlin had felt the bad moment he had done it. He didn't like taking controls of Jayce's body in this manner. But the world was changing fast, faster than he had thought it was going to. And he needed to prepare, to make sure that his former strength was at least salvageable in this body. Not that he could change who his vessel was now. He had already bonded his spirit with Jayce's own. Besides he had been patient with the boy, beyond so if he was being honest. The time for action was nigh and the longer the two of them waited the stronger the forces of Chaos grew.[break][break]
"If only you saw it that way boy." Merlin muttered as he focused his attention away from his thoughts and towards the massive tree that stood before him. It's trunk was littered with the scars of his magic. The dark brown brick having been entirely chipped away in some areas. Leaving only the smooth tan skin of the tree that lie underneath. He had clearly been out here for quite some time. It had taken him quite some time to access his mana. The strength of his star seed wasn't what it used to be. At least not in his body. He could feel the potential that rest within it but alas he was incapable of pulling out it's true strength himself. A feat that be impossible until his vessel, Jayce, finally let him in.[break][break]
Speaking of Jayce his soul was currently 'asleep' entirely unaware that Merlin had assumed direct control of their jointed body. It was a shameful thing but it made things easier for Merlin. Jayce was a stubborn spirit and wouldn't be too keen on learning that Merlin could hijack his body.[break][break]
"Obfula Seorsum." Merlin channeled his magical energy into the air in front of him as he spoke. A swift flick of his wrist and the arcane power that filled the air was given form. A sharp crescent shaped blade of blue energy launched itself forward at rapid pace. It sliced into the surface of the tree before shattering apart in a beautiful display of blue crystal-shaped shards of light. The elderly wizard frowned in disappoint as he examined the outcome of his spell. A sigh soon followed as he touched his hand to his chain. "So perplexing and frustrating. Should the boy and I run into trouble I doubt we'd be able to do much damage with a spell of that power." he'd need to pull out a weak defense spell from his arsenal in that case.[break][break]
"I can only imagine what Arthur would say if he could see me now. The great wizard Merlin reduced to parlor trick magic in order to get the job done."

[attr="class","nikki109"]The dude in the wheelchair was surprisingly well tempered over the situation. Jayce was impressed. Although he couldn't help but think that part of that composure came from being used to this kind of behaviour. Which just didn't settle right to him. Jayce looked down towards the man and back towards the woman as the older man said it was fine. "Are you sure want someone like her pushing you?" he inquired giving her a slightly jaded look from the corner of his eyes.[break][break]
"Champion of Justice are we now?" Merlin chuckled before following it up with, "And you shouldn't be so rude to a lady like that Jayce. Otherwise you ruin your chances."[break][break]
He'd ruin his chances of what? He bit down on his bottom lip and kept pressing on in his efforts to ignore the wizard. By the time he undistracted himself from Merlin's voice the young woman had already begun pushing Oscar. He picked up his pace to follow behind them. Partly out of curiosity and mostly out of concern for what Noel might put Oscar through. "To make sure you don't dumb him off anywhere suspect." and then she asked about the smell. Jayce rolled his eyes and then brought his shirt up towards his nose. He took a couple of sniffs but couldn't quite smell what she was referring too. Had the stench of weed really stuck to him that strongly? He had smoked outside, and sprayed a bit of axe on himself so he had thought he had covered the smell. "I'm not wearing anything, you're clearly imagining things."[break][break]
"Oh and no problem my dude, I try to help when I can. Someone has to get rid of my generations stigma am I right?" he laughed a lot harder at that than he should have. "I'm Jayce by the way." he finally took the time to introduce himself both to Oscar and to the woman. "And I'm a student, senior in high school actually." he was sure the question was meant for Oscar but he answered it anyway. It was then that his eyes drifted towards the bag the woman seem to be protecting with her life. He tilted his head curisotry for what was inside forming within his mind. "What's in the bag lady?" he was surprisingly up front with his interest.

[attr="class","nikki109"]He was high, exceptionally so. Which pretty much summed up most of his days when he wasn't busy fencing or avoiding other responsibilities. Right now his only concern as he moved through the crowded mall was simple. The munches. It gnawed at his stomach as he sluggishly headed towards the food court. He was going to a particular place in Les Quatre-Temps. It had the best burger and fries that he had ever tasted in his life, and for a surprisingly cheap price as well.[break][break]
He licked at his lips hungrily as images of the food flashed into his mind. "Could you make a bigger fool of yourself?" Merlin's voice was like a nagging whisper in the back of his mind. Jayce let out an audible groan but otherwise remained silent. Typically the magical grass acted as a way to drown him out. But lately it was getting harder and harder to ignore the spirit and its influence. Perhaps it was time to upgrade to strong stuff?[break][break]
"You can't ignore your destiny forever Jayce."[break][break]
"I can try..." he muttered absentmindedly before finding his attention drawn towards something else. A particular scene was unfolding before Jayce's vibrant green eyes. A young woman was asking a man in a wheelchair if she could push him. Jayce, or Merlin rather, got the particular feeling that she was doing it to hurry things along. It was a rather rude in Jayce's opinion. So out of impulse he approached, rubbing the back of his neck as he did so. "Uh don't you think that's kind of rude of you miss? He's certainly capable of moving himself along." hopefully this wouldn't turn into anything bigger than it needed to be.

Culture hostage. I’m writhing in the cold grasp of justice as she turns away, turns away. Blind is she supposed to be, but someone took a razor to her mask. Rusted now, the scales you hold; the balance tipped by the weight of gold. When will it end? When will it ever end? The judgement man holds my fate as I beg for forgiveness with the plastic smile of a candidate. They take for granted that I’m out of my mind, and I’m wasting their time to care, so all my reasons are doomed before they’re heard. I’m held hostage by their words. What will lead us to tolerance if we don’t question our prejudice?[break][break]
“Courage” is such a lonely word. Patience. In time, these truths will be learned. Please don’t keep looking away. You see, fortunes are on line, reputations at risk, and there’s fear in the hearts of all of you who believe that you’re right, and that you’re right, but are you right? The judgement man holds my fate! As I gaze around the room, their eyes are like knives - could decapitate. They take for granted that I’m out of mind, and I’m wasting their time. Don’t show, don’t show me my fate![break][break]
If I fall to pieces, they’ll know! (He’s out of his mind and he’s wasting our time. We know.) Oh! As I sense my fate! (His reasons be doomed, can’t understand him.) And now all my reasons are doomed before they’re heard. I’m held hostage by their words. Reasons doomed before they’re heard. I’m held hostage by their words. Reasons doomed before they’re heard. I’m held hostage, I’m held hostage - I’m a hostage![break][break]

Jayce is the vessel of the Arthurian wizard Merlin.
Despite currently living in France, Jayce is not a native. He's actually of British descendant having been born and raised in London. He lived in London until he was about six years old. His family immigrated to France due to a promotion that his father had received.
He discovered he was a vessel during his tenth birthday. Strange and odd things had always happened to him growing up but it was on that day he heard Merlin's voice for the first time. To say he was frighten and confused is an understatement. This panic was only made worse when his mother and father refused to believe him.
Ever since then Jayce has gone out of his way to ignore Merlin and his influence. This has caused the two of them have an increasingly strained relationship. Especially given that Merlin is aware of the untapped potential that lies within Jayce. Not to mention Merlin's desire to resume his fight against the Chaos.
Jayce suffers from what he likes to call 'selective laziness'. Where he is highly motivated to do the things that interest him while being extremely unmotivated to do the things that don't. It's gotten him into a lot of trouble. Like that time he skipped school just so he could go watch a fencing tournament.
He is the captain of his school's fencing team. He finds the sport highly relaxing and entertaining, in fact swordplay in general interests him. Something Jayce finds quite odd given who is residing in his body with him.
