Fairy Tale Endings

The parents of Jason were fugitives of the Stein that escaped from Tai Po New Town of Hong Kong in order to avoid the death penalty as a result of having Jason, and hiding him from the government that was running it at the time. Said to have been born illegally as they couple had already been in possession of another child whom had long since grown up, and moved on to start a family of their own. Still it was against the law to have a second, or third without exclusive permission, and as such they continued on the run in order to continually escape pursuers from the country they abandoned. Their names were Amber, and Sam. When the two of his parents originally escaped with Jason he was a small infant that managed to remain unseen, and alive in the harsh conditions of a highly advanced science facility were they worked. Originally he too was going to be executed along with his parents after a guard discovered him in the middle of night due to his cries under the curtain of moonlight, and as a result the warden(head security officer) decided to have the infant killed along with them instead of reporting it to his superiors. With reason being that while the child had been innocent his parents were now considered traitors to the country. Now the warden once had a wife, but because of similar circumstances she fled the country as well, but left him behind in fear of being turned in by him. However unlike the couple she had never been heard from again. So in his mind seeing their child die alongside them was more than enough atonement, and then some. However a few of the workers wished to stop such a horrid thing from happening, and staged a riot in which allowed them to flee towards New Paris where they lived on.

While in New Paris the couple was more than often accused of stealing from stores, and for the supposed murders of many people from the time that they arrived. Yet there wasn't any proof of such hard lined accusations, and thus no one ever attempted to arrest them. That single fact accompanied by their habit of packing up to a new location every few weeks in order to urge away the prying eyes of the authorities allowed them to live somewhat freely as they raised their child. However such nonchalant behavior, and constant being on the run was no way to properly raise a child. So by the time Jason had turned of 11 he vowed to be better than his parents, and on that same day he soon was told that the couple had been arrested for one crime, or another. The charges this time however were unknown to him, but he does recall seeing them strapping bombs to themselves before storming into a bank screaming about revolution, and change. As a child of such tender age he lacked the ability to fully understand right or wrong, and seeing them perform such an act didn't affect him on the outside but on the inside his perception of Justice became skewed. However with this revelation he also didn't come to question the fact that his parents were no longer around to protect, or care for like they should have been. In fact the lack of having them around led to Jason living the rest of his life on the streets as to avoid being thrown into any foster system. His life from there consisted of stealing, and trying to survive until finally being adopted by a librarian whom owned a bookstore he aimed his thefts at in an attempt to learn.

• Mary homeschooled Jason after adopting him, and taught him criminal law.
• Jason became a Detective after being influenced by mystery novels.
• Justice...he doesn't understand it completely.
• Jason hasn't visited his parents since they went to prison.
