Chaos is known as the being that never became a star. It is everywhere and yet nowhere at the same time.
Neither good nor evil, the ultimate expression of nothingness. The antithesis of the cosmos, creation itself.
Although Chaos claims to be the very state of existence from which the first entities appeared, it cannot form into the entity it wants most.
So it has been cursed to stay in the form of a dark and shapeless void. Floating between existence and nonexistence.
Longingly watching as stars are constantly born and lives are lived. The seeds of malice had been planted, flourished and transformed Chaos into the purest form of evil.

It felt like just another day without any kind of complications. Everything felt like it'd been going pretty well for Kerria, she hadn't been fired in months and there was enough money to keep up fencing sessions all while being able to have three square meals a day! This entire session she hadn't been able to wipe the grin off her face (it would come off as cocky to everyone else but she didn't give a damn). Even better - His Royal Pain In The Arse hadn't been on her case in days.[break][break]
After having already being told off for being a bit too crass and over dramatic, she was asked to sit down for a while. That sure dampened the mood but it wasn't too bad having to watch all the others. Even with the little experience she had compared to some of the other patrons the blonde had no difficultly observing and internally noting any weaknesses each person had - it was it's own form of entertainment.[break][break]
Sometimes even getting the chance to scoff a laugh when someone failed. In good sportsmanship.[break][break]
Finally it was all said and done (at least all the supervised drills) and her feet moved before anything else, leaping off the bench where she was sitting. Her plan had been to head back to the changerooms and go but one of the other guys caught her eye. This wasn't the first time she'd seen him around but it was the first time her attention had actually landed on him. Or maybe they were just always there at the same time? Who knows. But there was some sort of pull she felt toward him... good god she hoped that Mr 'I'm the Once and Future King' stayed quiet but it felt like he was planning on speaking at any moment.[break][break]
"Hey." Kerria sauntered over to lean around this kid and see what he was doing. Usually not her first move (being alone was easier) but there was something painfully familiar and it was eating at her insides. But then she wasn't one to make things easy regarding information for either side. "Planning on heading home? If you've got time why don't we have a few rounds."

[attr="class","nikki109"]He had been here for hours at this point. Ever since he had gotten out of school anyway. Fencing was one of the few things in his life that Jayce actually bothered to get excited for. He was even the captain of his school's fencing team. Strange when you considered that for the most part Jayce liked to avoid taking on any major responsibilities. Upsetting to his father and a certain wizard he was stuck with, but that didn't bother him much. Speaking of Merlin the wizard had been surprisingly quiet today. Jayce wanted to chalk it up to the wizard finally taking the hint, but he knew that wasn't the case. It was far more likely that Merlin was simply giving Jayce the time to himself. Letting him focus on enjoying himself in the hopes that he'd eventually come around. Jayce respected that on a some level. Almost enough for it to make some kind of difference.[break][break]
The young man gave a few deep breaths as he finished his last set of exercises. He placed his practice rapier down, and removed his fencing mask. His locks of silver draped across his face as they fell from his helmet. He quickly brushed them out of his face and went to wipe at his brow with a rag. Despite how long he had been here Jayce didn't feel all that exhausted. Quite the opposite really, and he knew exactly why. Being a 'vessel' (as Merlin had put it) gave him a few unique benefits. One of which was having more stamina than the average person. Which made it rather hard to find people to spar with. As most people wanted to quit after two or three matches.[break][break]
He sighed slightly as he squeezed the contents of his water bottle into his mouth. It was in the middle of this action that the woman approached him. "Hmm?" he glanced towards her as she spoke to him. The moment his eyes fell upon her Jayce began to feel something within him stirr. It was difficult to explain but it felt like he was meant to meet her. A faint trace and desire to protect and guide this total strange was slowly creeping into the pit of his stomach. It was odd and yet...oddly familiar. "Umm hi." he replied, setting his water bottle down on the bench next to him.[break][break]
She wanted to spar. Jayce couldn't help but feel how fortunate that was. He had, after all, just been thinking about how hard it was to find a sparring partner. "I'm actually not planning on leaving. Believe it or not but I'm not really all that tired." he relaxed his body and pushed the strange feeling aside. "So I'm definitely down to go a few rounds." he nodded at her before stretching out his hand. "The names Jayce." he waited patiently for her to take his hand. Introductions were important after all.

It took no time at all for the smirk on her face to grow as her insides twisted in excitement. For all intensive purposes, a worthy opponent was hard to come by with Kerria's gut claiming that this kid? He was going to be the best opposition she'd faced in a long time. Not that she knew how long he'd been here, but it looked like he had barely broken a sweat and could go for a few more rounds which suited her perfectly. Especially after having to sit out for so long.[break][break]
"Hope you won't mind when I come out on top then, eh?" As she was about to turn away, Kerria found herself staring at his outstretched hand, then back up to his face. People didn't get this far with her, maybe getting to introductions. But she supposed that was her own fault... and this was the first time she'd approached someone in a while. Her hand tightened for a split second before extending to grasp the other hand. Of course that was also the moment when she felt his royal blondness waking up and surfacing.[break][break]
"Ar- Kerria." She blinked a few times, trying to figure out why she'd nearly said his name rather than hers. They were having a chat when they got home. For a few painfully long seconds she couldn't get the willpower to let go either, instead just standing there staring at the handshake. [break][break]
It would be wise to let go of his hand now. You challenged him after all.[break][break]
Her blond hair whipped around as she shook her head and turned away. Hearing someone else's voice in your head was weird even if she'd been chatting with him since she was tiny. Especially when she was trying to have a conversation with an actual person. Kerria's hands extended upwards to tie her hair back again to make sure it was secure for their match.[break][break]
Think I don't know that? She thought in return. I'm not new at this.[break][break]
Both of her hands clasped around her rapier and her headgear, but she could feel the King fighting for control. He wanted to fight this match? Please. It was ridiculous and she'd issued the challenge so she was going to finish it. No matter the outcome. That was who she was. Her head turned back to look at the kid - Jayce - again so she could call out.[break][break]
"You ready?"

[attr="class","nikki109"]She was cocky and confident and Jayce couldn't help but smile. "I hope you can backup all that bravado." he quipped back, letting his smile fade from his face. Jayce was quite sure of his skills when it came to fencing. He had been practicing for as long as he could remember. "I'll have you know I'm the captain of my school's fencing team." his voice dripped with pride. Jayce had started fencing in protest of Merlin. A way of saying that he refused to embrace his magic. But it slowly evolved into something he found pleasure in doing for himself. The irony of doing something out of spite turning into something he enjoyed wasn't lost on him.[break][break]
Jayce couldn't help but look at her with curiosity as she stared at his hand. Did she have a thing against shaking her opponents hands? Maybe that wasn't case. It would have been wrong of him to jump to conclusion like that. She could have just as easily been a germaphobe or something. A thought that was quickly put to rest as she reached out. She took his hand within her own and in doing so Jayce felt something within him stir a again. A spark of magical energy ran from his fingertips to down his spine in an instant. Everything he had been feeling towards the woman moments before came rushing back at him. Only this time it felt much strong.[break][break]
Whose name had she almost said? Why did feel like he actually knew what she was going to say? He didn't know. What he did know was that he wanted to let go of her hand. But for some reason he couldn't bring himself to do it. The moment stretched on and neither one seemed capable of pulling away from the other. It was Kerria who found the strength to pull away first. Her hand released itself from his own and he quickly pulled his way and towards his side. Staring down at it as the woman walked away to assume her position opposite him. [break][break]
"What was that?"
He waited for Merlin to answer him but instead began to feel another unfamiliar feeling. The feeling of a force trying to assume control over his body and mind. Was Merlin attempting to steal control of his body? Surely the wizard wouldn't resort to such methods. He had never done so before (as far as Jayce knew) so why was he trying to do so now? He glanced up from his hand and towards the girl that stood ready to fight before him. It must have been her. Something about her was causing Merlin to take a far more proactive approach. "I don't know what you're trying to do Merlin but I suggest you stop it." a command if Jayce had ever given one.[break][break]
"You don't understand boy. That girl...she is..."[break][break]
"Shut it." Jayce went to work drowning out Merlin's voice and focusing instead on the match that was about to take place. He placed his helmet atop his head and grabbed hold of his rapier tightly. He the held the sword outward and towards Kerria, his feet spread evenly apart as he held his left hand behind his back. "Oh I'm ready Kerria, do your worst." he finished speaking and then made his move. He stepped forward a few feet and his body bent forward. The tip of his rapier poised to strike against her left side. He prepared himself for what he thought would be an obvious deflection of his attack. But one could never truly be prepared when it came to the heat of battle.

She would give credit where credit was due, being the Captain of a Fencing team was pretty impressive. Especially since you're coaching people between newbie and veteran all so they can compete and different competitions. That was a whole bunch of skills that... Kerria felt like she didn't have. Being part of a group wasn't her strong point so how the heck would she lead one? She would never tell anyone, but she was jealous of people who could step up like that to help in a different way. In a way, that meant he was already a more worthy opponent than she was.[break][break]
Now wasn't the time to feel sorry for herself or to wallow in self-pity. This was her challenge after all - it'd be a bad show to back out now just on the basis of what someone else had said. Yeah, he was a kid but that wouldn't matter in the long run. Once they stepped onto the lane it didn't matter who was behind the mask because they were an opponent and she stuck by that. She pulled the headgear on and turned to take her own stance.[break][break]
"Yeah. Ready." Her voice might've sounded confident, but Kerria was distracted by the feeling of someone trying to push through. Arthur had told her that spirits could swap between who was in control of the body but he'd never actually tried to be the one in control. To take over her body and use it for his own reasons. She didn't understand why he thought now was a good idea while she was in the middle of a fencing match - a spot she'd picked up on his recommendation.[break][break]
Time and time again she tried to parry whatever attacks Jayce threw, but ultimately ended up tripping. Over her own feet. For no reason other than the fact she was distracted. She violently threw off the headgear, having it land near where the rest of her equipment, all while snarling to herself. "What kind of trick are you trying to pull you Pompous Royal Ass?!" She shook her head in an attempt to get her thoughts straight but she felt like blacking out - the one thing she did not want to do right now.[break][break] "Sorry. Head's weird. I can't-" Her eyes squeezed closed as she pulled the base of her hand to her forehead. "I'll be- fine. Yeah. Give me a bit. Then we can finish."

[attr="class","nikki109"]Jayce halted his attacks when it became clear that Kerria was getting frustrated. He watched, head tilted to the side as she took her helmet off and flung it towards the ground. What the heck was going on? He had thought things were going that badly for her and she hadn't seemed like a person to get so easily flustered. What got his attention more was her choice of words. Royal ass? She clearly wasn't talking to him but then who was she taking to? So many questions rolling around inside of his mind. None of them he really felt like asking aloud. He instead settled with, "Hey are you okay?" he really was concerned. She gave an 'I'll be fine' in response and Jayce didn't quite believe her.[break][break]
He removed his helmet and dropped his rapier to the floor. Approaching her cautiously and with concern. He outstretched his hand and placed it on the back of her shoulder. "Are you sure? That wa-" he paused, his grip on her shoulder tightening as it hit him like a wave. Merlin's influenced washed over him like it never had before. He felt the wizard pulling at his mind so intensely. "That was..." he repeated himself, as he tried to fight back against Merlin. He couldn't. For whatever reason today the wizard was more powerful than him. Jayce felt his soul being pulled back into the darkness of his mind.[break][break]
He was still seeing out of his own eyes but he couldn't command his body like he had before. Attempts to make his arms move were met with nothing. He could see and hear but he lacked the feeling of presence. As if he was weightless and floating in a sea of the unknown. What exactly had just happened? Surely Merlin hadn't....? "I'm sorry Jayce but you'll soon understand why." the wizard's voice echoed in the black expanse around him. It was exactly as Jayce had feared. Merlin had assumed control.[break][break]
The wizard straightened himself out and removed his hand from Kerria's shoulder. The sudden change in his posture one of the many signs that Kerria was no longer dealing with Jayce. None of them more obvious than the words that soon left Merlin's lips. "Forgive me Kerria but I'm afraid Jayce has stepped aside for the time being." he smiled at her warmingly. His arms behind his back, hands interlocked with another as he stared at the female. "Ah allow me to introduce myself correctly," Merlin took a bow, "I am Merlin and I need to speak with the soul that lies within you. I must speak with King Arthur."
