Chaos is known as the being that never became a star. It is everywhere and yet nowhere at the same time.
Neither good nor evil, the ultimate expression of nothingness. The antithesis of the cosmos, creation itself.
Although Chaos claims to be the very state of existence from which the first entities appeared, it cannot form into the entity it wants most.
So it has been cursed to stay in the form of a dark and shapeless void. Floating between existence and nonexistence.
Longingly watching as stars are constantly born and lives are lived. The seeds of malice had been planted, flourished and transformed Chaos into the purest form of evil.
— October 31st, 10:00PM [break][break] The streets of Palais-Bourbon were littered with children in their festive costumes. Parents close at their sides, holding hands and chatting among themselves as their children went from place to place, knocking at doors and chiming out 'Trick or treat!' in unison. Various bags extended outward in waiting for the delicious sweets to be dropped within. Or, on the off chance, they were not presented with sweets, a trick to be played on those who refused the goods. The laughter and merriment could be heard for miles as the Parisians traversed the district ready to scare the least expecting. Well, try to, anyway. Some costumes were geared towards the happier side of Halloween. The princesses, the ballerinas, the cowboys. [break][break] However, in regards to the older crowd, they were much more concerned with the more form flattering of costumes. Aside from the community trick-or-treating flock, young adults were scattered about in search of Halloween parties. Socials and gatherings where they replaced bags of candy, with cups of various brews and potions. October 31st in New Paris, just like all of the other holidays, was a time to be alive. The citizens made sure of it. Entertainment ran deep within the streets. Although, this night, entertainment wouldn't be alone. [break][break]

[break][break] "I give you the chance to rise once more and claim what is rightfully yours. You, your highness, and your grand army. Rise from your illustrious graves and reclaim your throne! I, who have willed your body of bones to rise once more commands you! So now, I demand it... Rise!" [break][break] A voice called forth from the sky, bringing forth a swirling of ominous clouds visible within the night sky. Circling about the lights of the Eiffel Tower, a sole bolt of lightning would light up the sky, sounding off with a vicious crackle. However, no damage would be visible it seemed. A freak storm? Perhaps. But the weather forecast predicted clear skies. How strange. [break][break] "Oooh, scary costume mister!" A small female child would call forth to a figure, limping closer to her position. A skeleton. Clad with sword and shield. "Where'd y—AAHH!" The skeleton would interrupt the child with a swing of its blade. Prompting the nearby mother to grab hold of her child and dart away. [break][break] As she ran with her daughter in tow, the child turned to look back, "M-mommy!!" Index finger shot forth towards not one Skeleton, but several. A small army of the creatures had begun to attack and harass civilians. Causing hysteria, panic, an uproar. With chaos running rampant on the streets, who would come and bring back the peace and save Halloween night?? [break][break]

[attr="class","stylishtext"] How did she manage to get wrapped up in this? She was more than content just sitting in her living room and watching scary movies. Laying out on the couch with a bowl of popcorn. Maybe something a little sweeter like ice cream. Wrapped up in her blanket, eyes glued to the screen. Waiting for the next jump scare to make her flinch, or shriek of death to echo about the room from the television. Ah, but no. Instead, Yvette found herself strutting the streets of Palais-Bourbon. Clad in a costume she had bought offline—express shipped—and adorned. All in hunt of a party a few of her classmates from the university decided to throw. Impromptu plans were the worst. But, for some reason, it sounded like a good time. So against her previous stigma for half-baked plans, the blackette decided to attend. [break][break] Her costume of choice an homage to an anime she grew up with, the thin heels of her carmine colored stilettos clicked against the cement below. Pleated skirt of matching color swayed in her wake. The large bow against her chest being tugged and adjusted at while she moved. The golden jewel in the center adding a nice garnish. That, and the tiara she adorned against her forehead. It may have been just a glorified seifuku, sure, but fans of the series would know what she was going for. [break][break] No matter, she still needed to find the location of the party. Gloved arms folded across her chest as she paced further. Chuckling at the children that walked past her. Well, darted, skipped, scurried; whichever you preferred. They were moving happily and rather quickly. Ready to fill their buckets with treats, no doubt. Her eyes closed for a moment, recalling a simpler time when she too, would dress up and go from house to house. Hoping to garner caramel candies. She was always the witch. Even when asked for a change in costume, she refus—"??" [break][break] Sounds of panic broke free her reminiscing, and her head snapped towards the source. Watching as a mother darted past her with a child in tow. Running away from, [break][break] "Chaos." [break][break] The voice that wasn't her own spoke within her head. Evoking a wide eye stare for a moment, before the skeletal creatures came closer into view. "You've gotta be kidding me..." great. Now she would definitely be late to the party. As if that was the least of her problems. Head darted about. Hysteria had started. Bodies moving frantically. Though, eyes honed into a fallen prop from a costume. A baseball bat. That'll do. [break][break] Snatched the instrument in hand, Yvette darted towards the danger. Swinging her bat towards the skull of a skeleton and watching as it's head flew. It's body falling to the ground.* Prompting 4 others to lock onto her. "What's this feeling?" A fire brewing within her chest. She couldn't place it but, she had an ide—never mind! She had other things to worry about now! With the four oncoming creatures, Yves darted off towards an empty space, causing them to follow after in a sluggish run.
As embarrassing as it was...Julius was quite a fan of Halloween. No, it wasn't so much for the holiday itself. The man had never been a very outgoing active person back in his younger days. He didn't care for dressing up and pretending to be someone else whether it was some popular fictional character on tv, a famous celebrity or just the basic Halloween monsters. So what did he like about Halloween? Hard candy. Trick-or-treat meant getting free candy and trading it with the family he was staying with. As an adult, it meant being able to buy hard candy at a discount rate. While most would buy the discounts after Halloween when stores would try to sell any extra candy, if one was observant enough, they can sometimes find sales or discounts on the normal candy.[break][break]
Which was why Julius found himself rather content with his first bag of candy from the store. He also noted the various cars passing by, and people who were walking down the streets. Many were in costumes but there were some like him that had opted out of it. The latter though..seemed to mainly consist of parents who were chaperoning their children but not feeling festive enough to dress up with them. Gray eyes followed a family of four as the kid dressed up as some kind of superhero and enacting some scene with sound effects. [break][break]
The prosecutor wondered if he should give his sibling a call and wish them a happy Halloween. When he gets home...yeah...he'll do it when he gets home. [break][break]
A cry can be heard and Julius tore his eyes away to look toward the source of the sound like many other people. It was the voice of a woman who was running away with her daughter in tow. Running away from...well it was either a very convincing costume with delinquents causing a prank that was going to create a disturbance (something Julius would have been certain of a month ago) or those skeletons were actual skeletons. People were screaming running away from the scene and Julius had a feeling the police was going to come and try to handle this. Going against the stream had not been easy, not helped by the fact that he did his best trying to help those who had fallen down. The last thing he wanted was for someone to possibly die in a stampede.[break][break]
As the prosecutor got closer, he saw a girl in a sailor suit run up with a bat and swung. The lack of blood had finalized the assessment Julius needed. They really were not human. Great. As he fought against the crowd, Julius took out his phone to call the police station in Palais-Bourbon. Pick up..pick up..."This is prosecutor Julius Vesper," he stated louder than usual fearing that he might not be fully heard over the hysteria the moment there was a 'click', "there is a disturbance within Palais-Bourbon. Please send some squads down to help people evacuate and block people from entering." He didn't know how long it would take but the fewer people that were in danger and the more that were safely evacuated the better. Once he got a confirmation that some will be sent, Julius hung up and silently thanked the fact that he made it past the crowd.[break][break]
That was when the man saw where the girl was heading. The creatures moved sluggishly so that was one advantage they had. The disadvantage was that they were ahead of Julius in getting the girl. There was also one moving closer to him and the man knew that he was not going to be able to use his power in case anyone was recording this (he truly questioned people sometimes). Looking at the bag in his hand Julius knew he only had one option. Gripping tightly onto the bad (and silently begrudging the fact that he wasn't going to have as much hard candy as he would like) the male whacked at the skeleton creature. The head fell off but the candy had unfortunately also fallen out.[break][break]
Not wanting to lose a moment, Julius followed after the rather brave (or perhaps arrogant) girl's direction. There were four of the skeleton monsters after her to an empty space where there didn't really seem to be people. The girl was also running away so he can only assume she wasn't really looking behind her. It was night so his powers won't be as strong...he can only hope that also meant they won't get too much attention from the girl. Taking his chances, Julius ran up to the skeleton and used the light magic to form his bow. However, rather than focusing on creating the bow to shoot, he used the magic from the creation to attack one of the skeletons from behind and hopefully getting the attention of the others as well. The bow itself quickly disappearing just in case someone else comes by.[break][break]
As for the girl...Julius can only pray she did not look back and would just continue to run away to safety.
tldr: julius called the police to help evacuate people, killed one skeleton, followed YVETTE YAMAMOTO and killed another skeleton chasing her. killed 2 skeletons in total.
He hadn't been prepared to wake up, but waking up is what happened. He panted and pressed his hand to his chest. Each breath caused pain. So much pain. The more he pressed against any given area, the more it hurt. He explored the tenderness of his chest before settling on a conclusion: that child, who had fallen off the play structure yesterday, must have bruised his rib...because that's what Lucas was feeling right now. He struggled to sit himself up in bed, groaning at the pain and moving stiffly...how long would this take to heal? It had been months since the last one. Ah...but it was better him than the child, right? He had been in the right place at the right time.
Lucas reached for the glass of water on the bedside table, startled by his own clumsiness the pain brought on as the glass spilled...so much pain. It was a wonder he hadn't woken up before now. He knew that sleeping would be a struggle from here on out, but...he also knew that it wasn't this pain that woke him up. As he managed to drink some water from the glass, lips lingering on its edge, he couldn't help but feel the strangest sensation through his body--it was familiar, yet still entirely new. It was this that woke him up. It compelled him to rise and dress himself. It led him from his small loft apartment down into the streets of New Paris.
Costumed children and excited youths passed him in both directions as Lucas wandered aimlessly where he was bidden. He was bidden by no spoken words and no thoughts. It was merely impulse. Intuition, maybe. A strange sense that often led him toward particular destinations that only made sense once he arrived. However, this time was different. With this he felt a unique sort of dread that he hadn't ever felt before. It slowed his pace and kept him strangely alert for the first time; he typically paid no attention to his own state of being and surroundings, recklessly selfless as a person...but now he was aware. He was aware that, despite the sounds of laughter and joy around him, there was something else. Something darker, something more.
Then it came--the voice from above. He stopped to look skyward before it even spoke, as though aware that he should expect it. His eyes widened at the circling clouds and he felt uncertain, nervous, and even frightened. He didn't need to be told. He knew what this was. It was darkness, it was pain, it was evil intentions--it was Chaos. Despite never hearing the name, never being educated, Lucas already knew. The lightening and its follow sounded from above and Lucas immediately shrunk away, trembling, hurting, unnaturally scared of the sudden storm. His heart pounded in his bruised chest and he wanted to return to hiding, but...he was compelled.
Move forward. They need you. They will need you. You have to. This is why you exist.
All around him there was panic and noise. He could feel everyone's fear like he had never been able to feel before--his own face paled and he attempted to reach out to strangers, desperate to ease their own suffering but unable to in the hysteria. It was delayed when Lucas finally realized what else was around him.
He stared at it as it approached. His body froze in--maybe fear, maybe requirement. He had nobody to ask for confirmation. What he did know for sure was that it was armed, he had caught its attention, and Lucas himself could in no way defend himself. His fingers twitched at his sides and he raised his hands in front of him, as if by doing so he might be able to protect himself. This would, of course, never be the case.
"Den se fovámai," he said calmly. Though it wasn't his own voice that spoke, Lucas felt the meaning of the words all the same. He frowned at the monster and opened his hands as though to catch the blade of the sword preparing to swing at him. Lucas wasn't afraid. Not of pain, not of suffering, and not of Chaos.
tldr: lucas is here now. already injured beforehand because ofc he is. about to be sliced in half by a skelington.
"i'm so late, she's totally gonna string me up and tie me to a train track!" in the midst of halloween night. she was on her way to the partake in the festivity that was a well-known festival not too far from the street she was on. alas, she had no costume on but she did wear something she'd made herself for the night of halloween; though, what does she call it? well, if you must ask: coronation. that's right, with a nice headpiece upon her head. she adorned a rosebury headpiece upon the top of her head, her hair gathered into a braided bun. a nice, short, pink, and off-the-shoulder mini-laced princess dress; she, too, wore for footwear a pair of nice-strapped heels. and, lastly, you can't forget her noblesse--to which she was unaware of its true used or name at this time--her duo six-flowered hairpins which rested upon the right pectoral side of her dress, "there!"
[break][break]
"i'm sure she'll understand, a princess must always look her best for her coronation after all--haha!" she tittered, but upon turning the corner something was but amidst. people were running past her, telling that "it wasn't safe", but from what? as she saw a male (LUCAS BELLEROSE) upon the ground. there was something that stood over the male. she watched the back of the skeletal being raising its right arm, prepping to strike the male with a bladed weapon. "that doesn't look very safe..." she wasn't sure if this was a trick but it most certainly wasn't a treat!
[break][break]
looking around for some sort of weapon, the best she could find was a wooden sword and a trash can lid, "this will have to do!" quickly she picked it up, "i'll have to become a warrior princess tonight it seems--and just when it took me over five hours to finish." she cried too herself (ADMIN): lid in right hand and wooden sword in her left, she'd let out a battle cry, "a hundred percent maximum no..." she exclaimed loud and proud, "...no chill!!" she'd charge forward with the lid in front, running into the skeletal monster and shoving it down into the ground. "back off of him!" shoving the monstrous being into the ground, she'd then stand over it, "and choke on this!!" the wooden sword would be shoved through the skeletal creatures ever weak body, "game over..." she said with a light huff and puff, standing over the shadowy residue of the creatures remains.
[break][break]
a released sigh escaped the female's maw. realizing what'd she just done, she'd exclaim with a large gasp--all the while forgetting LUCAS BELLEROSE for a moment--"n-no way, did i just kill that thing...no freakin' way, awe yeah!" the princess wasn't being quite the normal princess one would see everyday, "hitomi powering up! you just got schooled in the art of hitomi doing what? kickin' ass and forgettin' names because that's ho school'd you just got, ahaha!" a hearty laughter escaped the female's maw when she'd pause for a second, "g-gah...!" turning toward LUCAS BELLEROSE, she'd exclaim as loudly as possible, "O.M.G., can you walk?!" she'd bend down to take hold of the male's hand, "a-are you okay?! holy baguette and croissants, you almost got yourself killed--grab onto me!!" having dropped her weapons and only taking out just one of those creatures, she was worried more were to come soon.
[break][break]
"there should be an alleyway nearby, let's get out of here and hide there for a moment. you're practically covered bandages," she worriedly spoke for the male who looked all but weak. "w-woah..." suddenly, a rosy blush was formed upon her cheeks, in her mind she'd casually say h-hottie alert. for a moment the world came to a halt as she was lost in thought staring at the blonde male who exhibited quite the model face. it wasn't everyday you get to see a guy like this covered in injuries.
[break][break]
tl;dr: arrived on the scene wearing a lovely attire. saw lucas about to be slain, picked up a wooden sword and trashcan lid. banged sword on lid, shoved the skeleton over and stabbed it as hard as she could with the wooden toy sword. offered to help lucas up and take him to a nearby alleyway, but then took notice of his face. never saw a guy who could be so hot yet so bruised, he was quite the looker and it made her pause from doing any movement for now. oh, also, took out 1 skeleton monster.
It was almost as though he had been in a trance. His mind and body had been prepared to accept the consequence of the blade recklessly and without hesitation. He would have surely died...which, despite his purpose, would have helped nobody. This uninvited courage had never presented itself in this way before. As a result Lucas felt incredibly uneasy--if his soul was so prepared to battle despite its not being equipped, just how terrible was Chaos? His longing to assist felt stronger than ever.
It was Hitomi Jabami 's interference that brought Lucas back. He cringed and watched in fascinated terror as the attacking creature collapsed into nothingness before him. Its residue was so close that Lucas could smell it. He reached tentatively to touch it, inhaling with sharp panic at the feeling that instantly overwhelmed him. Pain. Sickness. Death. All of it at once, so quick and so sudden that Lucas pulled his touch away. Fortunately, nothing compelled him to try and save this pile.
His heart thudded in his ears and he felt dizzy. Ah...he shouldn't have touched it at all, not even for that moment. He clutched at his head with one hand and gripped at the ground with the other, worried that he might collapse and disappear if he so much as tilted. His breathing was deep and strained, struggling against the pain of his chest while also exacerbating it. If Hitomi Jabami hadn't then yelled, Lucas might not have realized her presence at all.
"Walk...?" He stared at her through his dizziness, mind slow in registering what she was saying. Even then her words were unknown, spoken in a language he wasn't versed in. He understood 'walk', but didn't understand what she was saying it for. If Lucas had looked around he might have understood better, but he was staring at this woman instead. Then she took his hand and he flinched, startled and nervous, unfamiliar with the sensation of being touched without consent. He didn't tear his hand away, though he also didn't feel compelled to leave it there. He felt no pain or suffering from this woman. A twinge of fear, mostly concern...and something else. Lucas stared at their hands, curling his fingers more tightly over hers, expression softening into one of brave curiosity.
What else...was there? What was that? Lucas looked up and into her eyes. He had no innate magic that allowed him to see beyond the windows, but through his touch he could still feel something. It was so new and unknown that he didn't let go, despite the rising need to relocate away from their current location.
"Tu n'es pas comme les autres," he said quietly. You are not like the others.
Finally Lucas tore his hand away from hers, his attention darting past her. There were more, and they were approaching. More important than that, they were hurting civilians. Lucas struggled to a proper stand, arm wrapped around his chest as though it would protect him from the shooting internal pain during the movement. Once he stood he lowered his arm and straightened. This pain was nothing compared to what those swords could inflict on others.
Glancing at the woman who had helped him, unfazed by the hysteria and its noise around him, Lucas pointed at incoming trouble.
"Protège toi," he said. Protect yourself. He continued speaking in French. "They will destroy everything here and claim it...I have to save everyone from the pain. I have to. I have to..."
He spoke carelessly, unversed in the world and the separation between magic and not. Lucas acted on ingrained compulsions and feelings.
tldr: thanks for the help hitomi, but also lucas only speaks french and isn't running away anywhere. more skellingtons are coming and lucas is just waiting for people to heal because his vessel-ness is telling him to.
Gasps of wonder and delight voiced into the cool air at a certain place upon a street of Palais-Bourbon, sounds of amused claps filling the area between multiple children dressed up like miniature horror icons, their attentive parents accompanying them in the later hours of this festive evening. Stood before his small and fixated crowd, Cassian effortlessly juggled two dense, red balls, light taps from the firm surface clapping off from his pale palms with each motion that sent them back up into the air. All of a sudden, the slightest of movements that came from the magician's arm flickering behind his lower back rewarded the crowd with the sight of another red ball appearing from nowhere, adding to the juggle; not only did the surprise appearance catch their attention, yet now he was juggling three items at once. An ever-present, slight smile of routine composure curved at Cassian's lips, his blue-haired head tilting slightly to observe those in the crowd, not even needing to focus upon the juggling procedure at hand. Gasp! In the blink of an eye, the white-toned magician spun on his heel - a complete three-sixty - managing to not only maintain the flowing juggle upon the completed spin but somehow slip in another red ball, four crimson orbs now rotating through the air in robotic frequency. Rhythmically, the light claps of juggling pattered in the small scene which occurred within the rest of this large Halloween festival, added applause responding from the children and their guardians due to the magician's proficiency. [break][break]
Boom! A devastating bellow erupted from the dark sky above, lightning flashing around the abyss-like night in the clouds, gaining the attention of many in a single, powerful instance. It almost left just as quickly as it came, the surprise of it enough to make many jump, some flinch and others shiver. However, it did not even create the slightest bump in the juggling routine of Cassian, whose golden gaze drifted off to the side for a brief second or two, glancing up at the spectacle which radiated momentarily above, a pondering hum beneath his lips. It seemed like nothing; of course, he would be proved wrong oh so soon.[break][break]
"And now, to truly make this trick vast--" The intriguing start of Cassian's sentence began with the promise of wonder, although the sudden and electric feeling of danger surging through the air from somewhere interrupted his words. Screams and shouts desperately powered into the atmosphere, scenes of people dashing through crowds in a scared hurry spreading throughout the festival; what was happening? Space between the frightened opened up in small instances, obstructed views covering most of the spectacle until enough people shifted apart for a clear view of skeletal warriors disrupting the scene. The bone structure; the lack of evidence for it being a costume by such bony proportions in key areas; the decaying skulls that sat horrifically atop expired figures. These were no outfits and this was no joke. A brow raised and the red balls landing in his grip - two in either hand - Cassian's interested gaze lingered upon the arriving, undead party."Oh my, awoken bones from the past."[break][break]
As far as he were aware, Cassian happened to be the only member of the circus that was attending this area of Paris for Halloween, his typical appearance which consisted of white makeup, jester-like fashion, a star upon the right cheek and a tear drop at the other, making him fit in far more than he usually did thanks to everyone dressing up rather bizarrely on this notorious night. While his initial performances throughout this evening may have been splendid work for persuading people to come and visit the carnival in the near future, it was oh so clear that this mayhem would have overshadowed any promotional effort now. A shame. Offering a light bow, Cassian then raised up straightly and phlegmatically in the presence of his stunned, indecisive spectators; an arm of his extended out towards a back-road that many others were fleeing by, seemingly void of skeletal strikers. "It seems the night of Halloween has taken a turn for us all." The magician informed, pressing a calm but strict tone to the collections of families ahead. From the corner of his eye, he could see two terrifying skeletons limping over in their direction. He kept his attention to the civilians. "I suggest you retreat down this path like many others - not doing so could be your downfall." Final words hit home, the fear paralysis of both children and adults alike that were witnessing his show prior now shaking off as Cassian directed them away, a collection of fleeing legs hurrying away from the immediate scene as hysteria took over the grand scene.[break][break]
Standing with his side to the approaching skeletons armed with sword and shield, Cassian slowly raised his chin up, peering off to the side at the bony approach. The bones looked brittle on these two; rotten and vulnerable. The red juggling orbs with baseball-like sturdiness to them were gripped tightly in the cloud-white hands of the magician, the added strength of a vessel to be found in those talented digits, palms and wrists. Reaching behind his lower back, he slotted a ball from each hand away, leaving him with one in his left hand and one in his right. Calculating stare stayed locked upon the undead. A quick turn to face the two bony foes and Cassian's arms extended out to the side in sharp manner, thrusting inward to absolutely rocket the balls toward the oncoming skeletons - smash! A shiny, red ball shattered through each of their cervical vertebra, the link between neck and head bursting in a small flurry of stray bones, brutal shattering courtesy of a magical being's throwing power. The two corpses crumbled lifelessly to the ground, swords and shields clanging to the concrete beneath. Scanning over the fallen remains, Cassian crossed his arms behind his lower back, picking up a bit of pace in his walk as he started approaching the heart of the mess, seeing who or what he would come across first that may require his attention - be it helpful or harmful.[break][break] tl;dr: Cassian was juggling for some kids and parents, then it all kicked off. Two skeletons approached, he directed the civvies away and then threw a juggling ball through each of their throat/spine structures. Two skeletons down. Walked past them toward more of the commotion, he's coming from the outskirts of the general action; whoever wants to interact with him, say he's coming in your direction or that you saw him in the process what just happened! Six skeletons beaten altogether between all of us! ADMIN [break][break]
[attr="class","vpostbg"]Palais-Bourbon was such a lovely district. Most of Émilie's youth was spent around the area since it was where her family's estate was located. It had some of the best shops and cafes. Her apartment was close to Saint Elbandia University but the beautiful statues and morals that decorated Vaugirard were still nothing compared to the architecture and simple charm of Palais-Bourbon. Callister was holding a masquerade ball at a restaurant in the Eiffel Tower. Since Roselia wasn't doing anything for the holiday, it was best to spend the holiday with loved ones – especially since she knew being around them would be something boring and stuffy compared to scary if she hung around people from university.
Émilie didn't really care for Halloween since it encompassed so many things she didn't care about. She didn't like horror movies or scary things and they seemed plentiful this time of year. She didn't like rude people and children were dreadful as they liked to play cruel tricks for no reason since it was in season; illogical people were also just as bad and lots of weird nonsensical superstitions seemed to be on people's minds. On top of it all, Émilie didn't like hard candies and as a child, she remembered people giving out such things way too much.
Halloween just wasn't her idea of fun so being in a house full of people wearing nice clothes and elaborate masks was fine by her since nothing about the party would be spooky. Since tonight was supposed to be a nice night and she'd be spending most of her time indoors, she didn't feel so bad about wearing an outfit that might not be in season. The dress was cut short in the front though the many layers and bustle made the dress look rather large and puffed in the back. It was ordained with cute little violet flowers just like her hair. In terms of style, it was likely something Yvette would appreciate compared to her normal attire since the leader of Roselia was also into fashion. It was something that would have fit in with the crowd she was supposed to be socializing with; had she made it to the party then she would have been pretty happy to show off the beautiful dress to her cousin.
Unfortunately, that didn't happen. The calm, cloudless night had shifted quickly and by the time the driver had dropped her off in front of her destination, ominous clouds seemed to cover the area. So when a bolt of lightning crashed in front of the tower, the young purple haired girl was sent into a complete panic. Immediately, she crouched as she closed her eyes and covered her ears. Lightning storms were another thing she absolutely dreaded. Her heart was racing out of her chest as she cowered in front of the tower.
Her legs felt weak and she wanted to run to the tower to her cousin's arms where she could at least be comforted but the moment she peaked to see if things were safe, she saw hordes of scary costumed skeletons – except they couldn't be costumes. Logically speaking, there was no way a skeleton could walk since there were no muscles to hold bones together; yet these monstrosities weren't large enough to be costumed people. She could see right though them even though they were carrying weapons. The dark skies were still swirling overhead and the sounds of thunder crackled in the sky.
The moment she saw one swipe its weapon at a child, her brain told her everything she needed to know. Émilie was in danger and she needed to run. Her body didn't listen to her brain as she still felt paralyzed in fear. Closing her eyes again, she wished this was a bad dream. She wished she was at home in a blanket reading a book, ignoring the holiday. The purple haired girl wished for anything that wasn't this. She couldn't even see the two skeletons brandishing weapons coming towards her, ready to chop the easy prey down.
TLDR: Émilie is cowering near the Eiffel Tower, about to be killed by two skeletons, being a unless scared civilian.
[attr="class","stylishtext"] Alright, where the hell should she run to get these creatures of the damned off of her back? There was bound to be civilians all over the place. If not running for their lives, trying to hide and protect the children that were out and about. Which meant that using her magic haphazardly would be a no-no. Great, one set back already found and analyzed. Though, to her disdain, there was no positive solution to be found in the evaluation. Alright. Moving on. There was possibly one action she could take that would bear good results. But, it was definitely a risky move. Well, depending on how many of the skeletons decided to follow her, that is. She actually hadn't thought to turn around and see until she was ready to do battle with them. Even if the voice in her head kept telling her otherwise. Wait, actually, maybe it'd be a good idea to do so? [break][break] Head craned slightly, looking over her shoulder to view the threat behind her. Ready to see creatures of the night with swords readied. However, what she laid sight to was something completely different. Turquoise hues widened at the sight of a man tailing the skeletons. Which, in this situation didn't seem at all bizarre. Though it was what he did, that turned the tables. Some form of light appeared. A beam, or an arrow, she wasn't sure which. However, all she needed to know was that he managed to exterminate two skeletons by whatever means. And, seeing as though that wasn't a gun, or something akin to the bat she held in hand, Yvette was forced to believe it to be only one other thing. [break][break] Magic. [break][break] Another user of magic? Here in Paris? That meant that everything that voice had been telling her while she slept, was true? Now, she had questions. And maybe this guy had answers. Turning on her heels, Yvette took to the offense. Turning to face the remaining two skeletons, a palm was extended outward and a gale of wind flew forth from her position. Bringing with it a fog of silver. Shrouding not only Yvette, but the skeletons and the male stranger (@julius) in her Moon's mist. Quickly shifting gears, a bright light would glow from her position. Opposite hand raised and two orbs being shot forth. Colliding into the skulls of the skeletons and knocking them down to the ground.** [break][break] So, they were just as weak as she suspected. That was good to know. [break][break] The fog she created subsided as quickly as it appeared. Now leaving she, and the male in an alleyway. Seemingly alone, for the most part. "You," index finger shot forth towards the black haired male as the remains of the fog faded completely. "You're a magical being too, aren't you?" Was there any reason to allow the man a chance to lie? "What's the meaning of this? All these skeletons?" Did Yvette think he knew? Not really. This was a scene straight out of horror fiction. [break][break] But it didn't hurt to ask, right? "Do you kn—" eyes widened. From behind him, 5 more of the creatures seemed to be on their tail. "N-never mind, this way!" And again, she took off, heading towards the tower that lit up the Parisian skies. Only to, once again, be met with trouble. "!!" Emi! And she was surrounded by two of the skeletons. Not on her watch. With bat raised, two swings were given the moment she neared her precious friend. One swing to each skeleton's skull. Knocking them to the ground similar to the previous.** [break][break] Her heart almost thumped out of her chest. Kneeling down, she dropped the bat and rested her hands onto Émilie Cadence's shoulders. "Emi! Are you alright? They didn't touch you did they??"
[attr="class","notes"]tldr — yves exterminates 4 skeletons making 10 skeletons ded in total. tries to converse with julius but hauls ass to save emi after seeing 5 more coming. consoles her friend and asks if she's okay. phew, that was a lot.
[attr="class","diamond-text"] ”How about at little less duck-face and more, yanno, thriller.” suggested the baritone, eyebrow raised anticipating their reaction. The gaggle of ladies snickered, responding amicable, encompassing the spirit of Halloween. Growling and arms flailed in the air and a bit of dancing commence, kicking off the fun for the night. Behind the camera, one black gloved hand displaying the ok sign, smile clearly expressing sentiments. ”Love it. Gimmie more.” grabby hands ensued, more needed. [break][break] Enzo, decked out in a black and white costume of a classic villain group from a kids show, let the camera descend. A strap around the neck dangled the expensive camera and pressed against the large red R engraved on his top. ”Okay, that’ll be…” presenting his back, the photographer began crunching numbers. Math…who didn’t hate it unless dealing with money? And for taking the time to capture a memory to hold dear forever, it will cost maybe a leg. Especially when splitting time from a boogieing down at a party and watching tantalizing hips roll. [break][break] ”That’ll be – excuse me.” the friendly tone went a step higher while witnessing the group fleeing. Of course, the shriek from the surrounding area could be heard but was ignored. Halloween always exposed cream puffs, which fall victim to a drop of a dime. But these people were running scared. ”And…so are they.” Sometimes people possessed a hive mind, notably when fear is on the horizon. They run, you jog and then run. Fuck assessing the situation. [break][break] The cameraman was no different. He jogged, shouting at people up ahead, trying to figure out what exactly coerced their feet to move. ”Shit.” Slowing, blue hair whipped as he turned around to face the dreadful music, whatever it was. Always attracted to mystery, that’s what landed trouble on his shoulders every time. Enzo had a sudden change of mind. Nevertheless, camera at the ready, he went against the current. [break][break] Blasting off again. [break][break] Into the madness, screams, and panic reminded him of the running of the bull. However, in the strange occurrence, the bull happen to be skeletons? Gloves rubbed his eyes in disbelief. It had to be a gag, a well-organized ruse. Either way, he snapped a photo, dented a roof of a car, zoomed in and snapped rapidly at the weird spectacle of light shooting outwards. ”Un-fucking-believable.” a mumble airily tumbled out, as light boots touched the ground. That’s when he began his exercise of the day, running for life alongside another group of dumbasses. [break][break] ”Run faster!” the bellow urged the people onward, while his long strides kept him moving. Two pristine skeletons behind him didn’t let up; actually, the distance seemed to be closing. As a saying goes, anyone can outrun a bear long as you beat the other person. Now, Enzo didn’t know if they meant beat literally, but throwing bows seemed fitting. His elbow cracked across the face of the closes unknown man, then he stopped for a fraction of a second to place a foot in front of the others. Needlessly to say, a deathly tumble occurred both skeletons hopped on the victim. [break][break] Life secured alongside a few others, the blue-haired twat stopped to capture a photo of the offing he caused. ”Better him than me.” [break][break] snap another photo for the books. Photography wasn’t for the weak of heart. [break][break] Moving on, Enzo climbed again, this time to the roof of a jacked up truck. His body swiveled counterclockwise, checking surroundings. Of course, safety flew out the window, but his lungs begged to stop to get some clean, fresh air. Looking through his lens, he spotted an interesting specimen, specifically because of the blue hair that matched his. Shooting his arm in the air, he frantically waved toward him, the other arm joined, maintaining the weird mating ritual. He desperately wanted to man’s attention. [break][break] ”BEHIND YOU.” hands cupped around his mouth. ”BEHIND YOU.” Not one but two, skeletons were gaining on him. [break] [break] [break]
[attr="class","diamond-notes"]Was taking photos. Ran. Took a photo of julius vesper light show. Elbowed a person and tripped them, left them to die or whatever. On top of a truck, hollering at Cassian Gérard cause 2 skels behind him.
[attr="class","diamondimg"]
My skin is soft like velvet but my nails are razor sharp My scent is sweet like honey but I am diamond hard My ways they cut through plastic, rust free my golden heart
Okay that was one down and because it was night right now that meant there wouldn't be too much light, hopefully, that wouldn't catch anyone's attention. Well, a burst of light in the dark may catch some eyes but hopefully, people wouldn't think too much of it? Well except for the skeleton's anyway with how close they were to it. Before he could think of what to do (which was probably going to be run and trying to read them somewhere else until Julius can come up with an actual plan) there was a fog of mist. Wait..they can do this!?[break][break]
The prosecutor had to prepare himself, last he checked they were close to him. Even it meant others can't see him, hence it was easier to use his power, he couldn't exactly take that chance. Or rather, he couldn't take the chance of accidentally hitting the girl because he couldn't see very well in the mist. He took a few steps back squinting his eyes in hopes that it would help him see to find that it didn't. Of course, it didn't. There were two orbs of light that he managed to see if even if their visibility was quite covered by the fog. Soon it was gone just as it had come and Julius found two skeletons on the ground.[break][break]
Well, that raises questions.[break][break]
Julius blinked to see it was the girl from earlier with the baseball bat who hadn't run. And from what she was saying, it was quite obvious that she saw his power. Great. There was a reason why he was a prosecutor who had time to consider and plan things rather than a police that had to truly think on their feet. Making split-second decisions didn't exactly come naturally for him, nor did they often end well. Even more though was that she said he was a magical being. Which honestly raised even more questions. He wouldn't exactly say he was a magical being as much as just someone that uses magic. He would hardly consider the girl a magical being..had she not said then. Then again, maybe he was just reading too much into it.[break][break]
Before he could answer her questions let alone ask any of his own, he spotted the way the girl's eyes widen. Looking back, he saw some more chasing after them. Whether they were already chasing the two from before or if they were drawn by the small light, Julius wasn't exactly sure. Either way though, the prosecutor found himself running along with the mysterious girl. There was power in numbers. [break][break]
That was when they ran into a rather familiar figure. Emile!? Gray eyes widen but before he can find anything (as they were in a more public area), Julius couldn't exactly use his power. Not without answering too many questions and looking like some insane person. Then again, literally skeleton people moving around like zombies might make his story a bit more believable if he ever found the right way to tell it. Although maybe minus the wish-granting part if only because he didn't want any chance of that criminal ever getting out. [break][break]
When the dark twin haired girl dropped her bat, Julius felt his breath hitch. What was she thinking!? Quickly he picked up the bat just as one of the skeletons had been a bit faster than the other back. He swung the bat (maybe he should invest in one of these...if not at least a gun should anything like this happen again), "we should get going." Staying still was a pretty bad option right now with at least four of them still coming over.
tldr: chased by 5 skeletons and followed YVETTE YAMAMOTO over to Émilie Cadence . picked up the bat YVETTE YAMAMOTO dropped and killed 1 skeleton before telling them they should go. also doesn't exactly say hi or greet emile because wtf is being a social person.[break] julius:3[break] in total: 11
She heard her name being shouted by a familiar voice. Was she dreaming? Her eyes opened to see her savior not only appear and take out the immediate threat with ease with a bat but also come down to the the purple haired girl's level and offer her a comforting squeeze. “Yvette!” she shouted as she collapsed into the older girl's chest and hugged her neck tightly.
Why YVETTE YAMAMOTO was here and why she had a bat all didn't matter. Right now, the thing she cared about the most was her friend actually being in front of her. “Oh Yvette,” she whimpered in a softer tone. Her friend was here so everything was alright and there was less of a reason to be scared. At least, her brain was trying to tell her body that but Émilie still felt so stiff. Her eyes shifted from her friend's black locks back at the crowd of bony hoodlums that seemed to causing havoc with no end in sight.
Closing her eyes, she hugged her friend tighter as her closed her eyes again. Every time she actually got a good look at her surroundings, her body felt like it was going to give out. This whole situation was worse than any nightmare the purple haired keyboardist had ever had before. “I... this...!” she stuttered as words failed to come out. Usually, she was articulate and logical but right now both qualities seemed to be missing. Her body was shaking and she couldn't push herself to even get to her feet at the moment.
Another voice called out behind her, suggesting they get out of here. That voice! She knew that voice too! Émilie's head snapped to the side as she looked at another familiar person. “Julius...?” Why was julius vesper here? That man had a tendency to find danger if he was getting beat up dealing with his job and now in this real life horror movie. Her eyes squeezed close tighter as she grasp on Yvette loosened. “I don't understand this at all.”
Émilie didn't understand how skeletons could walk without muscles to keep the bones attached, let alone wield weapons. She didn't understand why her dear friend and the stranger from the other day had appeared like heroes to save her from her demise. Most importantly, she didn't understand why this was happening to the city. The purple haired girl had lived in New Paris for all of her life and not once did terrible things like this happen!
The moment Yvette got to her feet, the scared woman took a few deep breathes as she stayed crouched. She wanted to get to her feet and escape like Julius suggested but her legs felt so weak and her nerves were completely gone. ”I... I don't think I can,” she informed them both. There was no way she could really run when she was paralyzed in fear like this. ”I'm too scared.” Émilie was so useless and she knew it. Her brain kept yelling at her. She had to get up! She needed to run and get somewhere safe! Such a thing seemed out of her power at the moment.
”I-I'm useless. Please, just run and get somewhere safe without me!” she screamed. There was no way she wanted her dearest friend to get hurt on her account. Julius also made a very poor promise to keep himself safe. Nobody needed to get hurt trying to keep her safe when she couldn't even find the energy to safe herself.
TLDR: Emi is still useless and not doing anything but clinging to Yvette and stopping Yvette and Julius from using magic in front of her. Your welcome for the handicap and damsel.
Halloween Night, the absolute worst night, the damnest kinkiest fucking night ever. He practically wished to sleep it away, those memories of what he had to do.. The outfits he had to wear.. All for 1 man's amusement, yuck! Just, why the hell did the man get so much kick at being so fucking sadistic?
What did he choose to do this Halloween? Watch movies, hope to damn he passed out and forget the holiday even fucking happened. What did he end up doing instead? Oh... Why, fight Monsters, creatures of the night, his fucking job... Seeing all those damn outfits and costume. How did it all start?
Why he was just watching the monster in Frankenstein come alive, start walking making all his scary noise incapable of communication, when a HUGE Flash of lightning sparked cross the sky, soon following a loud noise. Great.. A thunderstorm. Then.. It grew worst... The lights flickered, he got up, curious. What did he see? Why a huge storming cloud circling growing darker and darker... Well... looked like any other thunderstorm to him.. he thought. Except.. Something was off, and he knew it was off... The itching in the back of his mind.... It demanded to look.. Needed to look. F this holiday, F this magical job, and F these new... feelings he couldn't quite explain.
With a loud grumble of complaint, he grabbed his black hoodie, slipping it on... At least.. He'll blend in with the night.. or something,.... At least he wasn't dressed like a damn bunny showing his, best leave that be, just focus. The moment he stepped outside and placed himself into full run, the voices.... crept in.. demanding attention, whispering.. wanting... him to answer them.. They were happy to see him out.. This sent shivers down his back, something he couldn't quite explain or understand. They were after all just his conscience? Right.
The closer he came to the spot, more screams filled the air.. Definitely not normal, excitement buzzed and grew in his head... Excitement not his own, excitement he couldn't quite placed. Reaching the area left him out of breath just temporarily leaning on a near by tree, the 1 person in the area zipped by.. Two skeletons right on this individual's tail. What the?
His thought was at first it was a costume, well done, when it occurred to him... The gaps.. Weren't black.. Oh no.... they were transparent.... Magical. Fuck. The skeletons came closer, well.. Might as well earn those points for the Magi Master. He slipped off his protective glove, placing his hand right on the tree trunk applying pressure right where he estimated the skeletons would appear in reach. Tree gradually turned black, soon making a cracking wood noise, beginning to tilt in a direction landing right on a skeleton shattering it to pieces, This as well block the path of the other skeleton forcing him to go around.
One down.. One to go.. These guys were so easy, this outta be easy job.. Kill these two, and head home.. Clouds clear up, yep absolutely easy peesy. Grabbing onto his necklace with his right hand, he shouted loudly "Hastur Star", causing the chain to break away and the daggers gradually grow in size. He moved the daggers so his left hand would easily grab the second dagger, only for it to humiliating fall on the ground, just as the Skeleton came into reach. "Well shit" He shouted frustrated, quickly swiping at the skeleton..... Honestly shocked the thing fell apart at the dagger's movement. These guys were really that easy? "That's it." He said happily bending up to pick up the two grief seeds, waiting a moment for everything to clear up.. Only to have more lightning come down.. Only to see MORE skeletons running around. "YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING!" He shouted in absolute pissy shock. "WORST FUCKING HOliday ever!"
Reaching with his left hand, he picked up the other dagger, half-assedly ran toward the other skeletons, unaware if anybody was over there or not. Really.. just wanting to go to bed.
Summary --- ---------> Guy was at home watching movies, hates Halloween due to his past. Also he is a sloth. ---------> He killed 2; 1 death by tree fall, the other by weapon swing ---------> I imagine him the farthest from the main villain, and probably going to be more background skeleton killer. anyone wish to join him, I'll e uber happy.
Rakutsu was someone who always stood out in a crowd. This was always unintentional for him as he simply wanted to be left alone to his own devices. He was told that it was how he held himself unlike other kids his age. How he was so deadly serious that anyone near him could feel it. They were just exxagrating. Tonight was a similar case, but one he had no trouble wrapping his head around.
Unlike most young teenagers his age there was a lack of a proper halloween costume on him. It was a bit surprising for some who saw him seeing how young he was. It soon dawned onto him that coming out here might have been a mistake after being told to enjoy himself multiple types. The idea of going back home and locking himself up in his room was extremely tempting. The only reason this didn't happen was because he reminded himself why he decided to come outside in the first place.
He wanted to take advantage of any chance he got to leave the house when his father was home at the same time. Yes, they ignored each other, but the air in the house was suffercating with the two of them there. The streets were beginning to seem no different either after an hour of walking around. Turning on his heels, he begun to make the trip back home. Maybe some anime will calm the nerves?
His pace picked up at the sight of dark clothes in the sky. He didn't like the idea of being caught in the middle of a storm. The sound of terrified screaming was the only thing that made him stop to investigate. A patrolman was running out from around the corner only to be cut down by a animated skeleton. Seeing something like this only made him freeze up in fear as he was in front of something that was only in fiction until now. Still, he can't stand around if he wanted to live.
The skeleton advanced into him and swung its blade. Rakutsu jumped to the side, dodging the attack and running to the dead officer. Their gun was already with the safety off. Must have tried to get a shot off before dying. He aimed and leveled the gun for the skeleton's head before pulling the trigger. There was a small amount of recoil, but nothing that threw him to the ground. The bullet itself ripped through the skull of the skeleton, leaving it into pieces. Four others appeared from around the corner, which he shot down as well.
Tl;dr: Shot down 5 skeletons with a gun belonging to a officer that one of the skeletons just killed.
After a few moments of light walking, Cassian's arms remained behind his lower back as he observed the scene ahead of him, chaos reigning supremely in the immediate area ahead as his steps took him closer and closer to the action. Surprisingly, his golden eyes caught sight of people fighting back; they were few and far in between the rest of fleeing groups, however they most certainly were there protecting either themselves or the masses in the most physical way possible. Cassian thought he may have even spotted bright means of offense - somewhat mystical - although at the time his view was far too obstructed to be making such grand accusations in his own mind. Time would tell once he made his way over there. [break][break]
And perhaps it was that little distraction of the blurred mayhem in the distance which made the sudden yelling in his direction all the more perplexing. Slowly, his white expression turned towards a rather lively male atop a truck who seemed intent on gaining his attention. A curious emotion came across Cassian's face as the man waved about in some form of desperation; a blue-haired figure with a type of camera in his possession. Was he asking the magician for a pose? Cassian didn't have bad hearing in the slightest, although screams, shouts and all other types of noises brought about from physical movement filled the air, making the distance of sound somewhat murky at this designated position. Blue-head tilting, Cassian gave a slight hum on wonder to himself; it was at that moment that the traveling words finally broke through the chaotic scene to wash across his ears.[break][break]
A slight raise of his head at the warning, close proximity allowed the bony sound of undead feet clicking across the ground not far behind, the crackle of their connected, exposed bone structure ever present. Glancing over his shoulder with a calmness similar to that of still, silent water, the magician simply observed the two skeletal enemies approaching, one partially in front of the other and roughly two meters distance between their sides. The one in front seemed rather sturdier than the other; a fresher corpse. The one behind? Its hollow limbs were practically hanging by threads, moving solely on the gift of whichever spell dragged it back upon its heels - ghoulishly delicate. [break][break]
Suddenly, the closest skeleton burst forward with a vertical slash reigning downward, aiming to split the mysterious man in white straight down the middle. A quick pivot and spin brought Cassian out of its way, his body ducking proficiently while his movements had him drift inward of the attack; stepping toward the aggressor instead of away. His left leg planted behind the side of the attacker, Cassian's right coming through in the follow-up to sweep against the shins of the sturdier skeleton, tripping it stylishly and making the adversary fall upon its front in a spindly, skeletal jingle. A red ball from earlier remained in Cassian's right hand as the other adversary prepared its strike now that it too was close enough; the magician snapped his spare hand behind him before thrusting it back out - a single playing card in hand that seemingly came from nowhere in true sleight of hand skill - and throwing the sharp-edged item. It cut through the vulnerable, degrading wrist bone which held the sword, slicing through the brittle, thin bone. While it wouldn't work for the fresher corpses, the older, weaker bones were prey for his magically enhanced card throws if thrown carefully. Clang! The bony hand fell to the floor with the added sound of the sword clattering to the concrete; no rest for the wicked as Cassian's right hand swung across to smash the solid juggling ball through its cervical vertebrae, immobilizing the undead like the others from before. [break][break]
Turning around, Cassian lifted his hand which carried the ball and let the other brush bone-dust from the top of his palm graciously. The first skeleton that had been tripped onto its front seconds ago was tugging its figure up from the ground, as Cassian stood beside it. Simply and brutally, the magician raised his leg and stamped down powerfully atop the skull, foot smashing through the bone until all that rested atop the spine were shattered remains; like a broken vase. The skeleton slumped back down afterward, naturally. Cassian raised his head, then took a slow turn to stare back in the direction of the man who had warned him from the truck. Then he closed his eyes and gave him a pleased, innocent smile of gratitude, bowing slightly to the cameraman in the distance. [break][break]
Remembering that he saw a flash of some kind ahead, a brief look ahead then made Cassian all the more curious; he thought he saw a glance of someone he had seen before that had once visited the carnival. A young man with dark hair, if he were not mistaken. And just as he did so before, Cassian began to continue walking forwards towards the tower, gaining distance by the second and giving a singular glance back to the cameraman before viewing ahead; a subtle offer to join the sorcerer in his walk should he feel safer there than on the truck. After all, a small group of skeletons in the distance were beginning to limp and stumble over to the large vehicle from a direction behind the truck, should the stranger look behind him to see his developing predicament.[break][break] tl;dr: Receiving the warning, Cassian turned around and leg-swept one skeleton on the floor before vanquishing the one behind; then turned and stamped on the fallen one's head to finish. Two down! Gave a smile and a bow to Enzo before continuing his original walk toward the tower, though giving a look to Enzo as he did so which suggested he could follow along if he desired. Meanwhile, a small group of skeletons were approaching from the distance behind Enzo, should he turn to see! ADMIN [break][break]
