Chaos is known as the being that never became a star. It is everywhere and yet nowhere at the same time.
Neither good nor evil, the ultimate expression of nothingness. The antithesis of the cosmos, creation itself.
Although Chaos claims to be the very state of existence from which the first entities appeared, it cannot form into the entity it wants most.
So it has been cursed to stay in the form of a dark and shapeless void. Floating between existence and nonexistence.
Longingly watching as stars are constantly born and lives are lived. The seeds of malice had been planted, flourished and transformed Chaos into the purest form of evil.
"Well sheesh what to be a knight in shining Armor." Ringo blinked. Well, that technically is what is he is now that he accepted to the wish to become a magi. "Oh really? Mind as a thank you I buy you one item of choice? Hmm. Call it... Christmas Knightly Reward."
"...huh...okay." Ringo stared at this one. Honestly, it was best not to argue when he has so little read on her. She is certainly a strange one. Plus, she is offering her generosity, who was he to turn it down. "Alright, lead the way then." At the very least he can watch over in case she is the type to get thrown into danger like she did earlier.
"One condition! We gotta get some nog together, knock some glasses back you know?"
"Hm?" Ringo tilted his head. Well, he supposed he had to spend time with her after his usual scouting is done.
"You ever think the youma have an off day? Like, I don't know, a holiday or something? Maybe, "
"I don't think so...evil sadly never really re-."
"RINGO!" A youma rushed from its hide spot and clung to the side of the building after a harsh tackle from Ayakka. For someone who claimed she isn't one for close range she has a mean rush. A skinny werewolf esque creature snarled as it recovered a touch. "Guess break time is over huh?"
"Yeah-!" Ringo rushed forward. The werewolf lunged and tried to dig its claws into Ringo however the armor managed to resist the slashes. It left only scratches at best as Ringo swung his lance. While a weapon mainly for piercing, the swing of such a pole arm is also ideal for the shattering of bones...actually do youma even have proper anatomy? Regardless the youma collapsed on the ground. Ringo looked to Ayakka to see if she could finish it off a distance.

"You could say that. " The girl presented an earring. Likely dropped in the middle of the road. Honestly, Ringo personally found it amazing that she could find it amongst the snow or that anything would hit or run over the earring. "Why were you in the road? Trying to get yourself killed?"
"Eh?" Ringo was caught off guard not because of the accuracy of the question but rather the baffling inaccuracy of it. "I was on the road because you were on it." Ringo clarified. "No one else was stepping in and you seemed to ignore any vocal warnings so I had to pull you out. Once more, my apologizes having to do so."
This was certainly a strange one. Considering her dress, the fanciness of her accessories, Ringo can at least make the guess she was decently well-off. He heard of those type of people who have it so good they tend to be...separate from common society.
"I was on my way to do some window shopping." Technically not a lie.
"Ye-yes I am. Thank you." Ringo took the offered hand and got himself up, calming the crowd enough for them to finally continue on their days. He started to dust off the excess snow. "I guess... I owe you a thank you?" Ringo raised a hand as he finally finished getting rid of most of the snow on him.
"I'm fine..." He looked back at the road and then back to the lady. "Why were you in the middle of the road? Did you lost something?" Even with the snow, one should be able to see the road lights today.
"Roger." The girl began to follow him as they trecked through the snow. "So what got you wandering around in this sack of fun and snow? Chasing youmas' too? Or did you want to take a nice bracing walk?" Before Ringo could answer, she provided a chuckle. "Me though? Grocery shopping. Stupid I know, but hey you gotta get some nog somehow. ...Course that's probably buried under a foot and a half of snow now...I don't even remember where I dropped it."
"I'll pay for some eggnog when we end hunting youma for the day." Ringo offered. "As for what I'm doing here, yeah chasing youmas. I need to make sure they're not attacking anybody and plus I need the grief seeds for myself and others." He began to take a look around. They were, at this point, in a neighborhood, not too many people willing to go out but none the less he still needed to be cautious for any wanderers like that Halloween night.

Another day of training finished and as always Ringo decided to search the more populated places for youma first before he would check on the lesser populated places. The only downside is how little time he really has to search after his attorney (in training) work is said and done. Not to mention they don't seem to care all that much for weather as his time with Ayakka demonstrated.
Ringo adjusted the hood on his heavy gray coat as he walked down the street. Not a lot in his price range but there wasn't a cost to looking. He was about to be on his way to look around for youma (as well as some shops more within his price range) before he took notice at the corner of his eye a girl who ran to the middle of the road...while the sign was red. Alarm bells rang in Ringo's head as he noticed the truck lights.
"Watch out!!" Ringo dashed over and pulled the woman away from the road with all his might...and collapsed face first on the side walk as he did it with maybe a little too much force.
"Oh god! He's been hit!!"
"I'm fine!" Ringo's snow covered head emerged. He wiped some snow off his face and looked over to his side. "Hey, are you alright?"
"Well, you just happened to come by at the right time. He was giving me a real good fight before I managed to pin a good hit on him."
"Okay." This girl was a touch strange but then again, who knows how many people are dragged into all of this. After all the desire to do good existed in a lot of people. He began to...well...take a look would be inaccurate what with a winter storm of Youkai about. They can't quite wander aimlessly in the falling snow after all.
"Thanks." Ringo nodded. "You wanna take the lead then? I'm not much of a front line fighter."
"Alright." It could very possibly be that she was a far-range fighter and got caught off guard. If Ringo thinks about it that way, she can help considering that, at the moment, Ringo doesn't have much in the way of far ranged attacks. "Let's go, stay close. We don't know if the snow might get more intense if the youma are behind this." Ringo started to walk on forward.
"I guess you don't have any spares.... So, where are the the evil."
"Well, we got to look for them sadly." A nervous laugh from the armored knight. "You can call me Ringo for now. Come on, let's get you a grief seed or two." The knight bowed politely and began to march on back to where the skeletons were. Hopefully they provided enough to clean his gem up. Still...why did Alex's start off so dirty?
Things he can ask the one who blessed him with this power later.

"Hm?" The only change in Ringo's expression was an arch an eyebrow.
"You don't know anything about them!" Julius had no reaction to anything else except when Ringo mentioned the police..."Continue this path if that is what you want. But don't you dare tell me such lies ever again! You will never help another human being as you try to save some criminal just because they managed to trick you or your own ego." Ringo continued to stare at Julius. "I will simply be there to make sure what you do won't actually harm anyone."
"Oi-..." Before Ringo could get a word in Julius began to leave. He supposed the rain wasn't too bad now but...
Ringo paused as he pondered why the comment about the police made him react so strongly. Police corruption is a very real thing and a real problem. They don't turn in all evidence or they refuse to turn in their own even if one cop is guilty of violation of protocol or morals. Did Julius really think that because Ringo criticized the police he can't help another? Ridiculous.
"I better get going..." Ringo pulled out his own soul gem. It was getting close to those 'volunteer' hours anyways...

"Oh. Oh that makes things a lot easier." Phew, she was willing to talk. "Well Mr. Super Sentai, you came at a great time." ...Sentai? Ringo started to take a good look at himself. Did he really come off like that? "As you've no doubt noticed there's a storm of these little things running out there. And this one here..." She motioned to the dog. "Dragged me into the middle of this...and I'm kinda stuck...."
"Stuck, it looks wounded to me..." Ringo pointed out. She could just collect the grief seed right now...
"Wanna team up? I'll even cough over most of the grief seeds if you want!"
"Hm? Well sure...but you don't have to cough up most of them. Let's split them fifty fifty at least." Both of them needed clean Soul Gems by the end of the day.
"Name's Ayakka Atland, Mister.....?"
"Ah, you can call me Ringo." He started to walk on forward and with little mind to the youma's shape, stabbed into it. He pulled out the spear, a grief seed perfectly intact at the tip of it. Ringo gently pulled the grief seed from the tip and presented it to Ayakka. "Here you go."
"Oh. Its. Real. Not Larping. That lady, the Contractor. Really helped me out... Capable saving others.. Stop evil." Ringo slowly nodded at Alex's words. He seemed to be accepting it was real? Maybe? "Heh. Great. Saving people, just like my parents."
"Hm?"
"Finally! I can actually help out this world from evil doers!" Ringo flinched in surprise. "We should probably go look for trouble? SHouldn't we. Best part ways."
"Wai-."
"Could you give me your number? If you wish to hide your identity that's fine, I-I take your hero name."
"Hold on a mo-."
"We could, maybe help each other out?"
"Before any of that..." It was honestly a touch unusual how gung-ho he is about this now considering his earlier doubts. "You got to be cautious, your soul gem is supremely dirty and who knows what will happen if it is completely corrupted. So let me get you some grief seeds to clean it up first."
"Their lessons are a hindrance." Not a hesitation or thought put into those words. "If you actually want to help people, you would become a prosecutor and help the actual victims rather than try to destroy their character or gain sympathy from the jury. Should you be unable to actually get into the program, police programs are also a choice or even a firefighter." As Ringo processed this speech, something finally dawned to him.
"I'm afraid if I become a prosecutor, my disappointment would remain the same. I'd hop from mentor to mentor all the same. I don't think you'd last more than a case for me." Ringo looked over at Julius, his smile no longer present, an expression that was best described as neutral. "My issue with my past mentors is that when the evidence presented their clients as guilty, they would try to lessen their sentence or stall the trial. While their argument that a defense attorney with some losses on their record is not encouraging, I do think it is our duty to hand our clients to the prosecutors should evidence for their guilt come to light. In that same vein...tell me, with absolute confidence, should the evidence present the one on the stand as innocent, would you continue to pursue a guilty verdict or can you say you would hand them to the defense?"
It was all the same. Defense Attorney, Prosecutor, they relentlessly chased a record. Ringo has no such desire for such a thing. He will accept scorn but he will not be accused of falling back on his ideals. It was a disappointment that Julius was not who Ringo thought he was...but then again it was the same with his mentors.
"Plus I think police academy or getting a fire fighter license is a very different set of requirements than obtaining an attorney's badge." A chuckle from Ringo. "Besides, I'd figure some chose this career because the police aren't perfect..."
Tagged: Julius Vesper Music: Notes: Congrats Juli, you're the first person Ringo told this to!...and yet Julius also stepped on a bit of a landmine.
"Whoa..." Woah indeed. There was a lot of information to take in but Ringo hoped that he explained the gist of it. "Grief seeds? Are they what the magician lady... uhh eeer... Contractor person.. Was talking about? To fetch? Uhh.. Like a NPC Quest, right?" Well, that was certainly a way to put it. "Are the plague people like those skeletons, from earlier? The ones were attacking?" Come to think of it, Ringo was going to have to come back and get rid of them before they become a problem... "That.. Why.. You eeer uhh were oer there? in that.. uhh RPG get up?"
"Rocket prope-oh you mean my armor! No, this is just my ma-..."
"You were all playing larping! Large larping city wide arena, oh!" This one was further from the proper conclusion than Ringo thought. Hmmm.
"Um..w-we aren't playing pretend. This is super real." A nervous laugh as Ringo demonstrated with his gauntlets again.
"...pardon?" Ringo was taken by surprise by the statement from the attorney. "Went through all of college for this opportunity. Kind of too late to quit now..." He invested four years to get into an opportunity to earn his attornery license. It'd be a waste of not only him but those that supported him if he were to quit now.
The ponderings would move to why Mr.Vesper would propose such a thing. He figured how serious he could be came from the gravity of court. More jovial or polite attorney's confused Ringo in all honesty considering the grave subject matter that is usually discussed at court but he supposed there was a place for ease if the people being brought to witnessed are easily stressed. Not to mention he should be aware that court is a four act structure. The judge, the defense, the prosecution, and the jury.
"Is it because I change mentors a lot?" Ringo shook his head. He might as well explain himself. "It's hardly a lack of dedication I promise. The long and short of it is I want to learn from as many different people as possible to avoid bias I suppose." If he stuck to one mentor, Ringo wouldn't take it considering how often he found it that a lawyer would stall out the case or lessen a sentence despite clear evidence. When he brought it up with one of his mentors, he was explained it would look ill on the record if a defense attorney intentionally 'threw the case'. "I suppose that's another reason why I can't quit. I wouldn't want to waste the lessons of those I studied under."

"Volunteering." That was honestly the best way to put it without mentioning that magic exists and that everyday they breathe could be plagued by youma, horrors beyond their understanding. "I do community service. When I'm off being tutored or have to sit down on cases, I'm not exactly helping people by sitting down or taking notes I can't even use until my own career as an attorney gets started. So, I help out at places that are short-handed as it were."
Again, honestly given how Ringo hasn't really spoken with the likely others that have their own magics. The Magi might as well be short handed if he has met so few of them...but they can't possibly be so few if the city's night hasn't been overrun by youma yet.
