Chaos is known as the being that never became a star. It is everywhere and yet nowhere at the same time.
Neither good nor evil, the ultimate expression of nothingness. The antithesis of the cosmos, creation itself.
Although Chaos claims to be the very state of existence from which the first entities appeared, it cannot form into the entity it wants most.
So it has been cursed to stay in the form of a dark and shapeless void. Floating between existence and nonexistence.
Longingly watching as stars are constantly born and lives are lived. The seeds of malice had been planted, flourished and transformed Chaos into the purest form of evil.
The person that came forth was but a young lad, he would have been only a few years younger it was just his facial features looked like that of a teenagers still. Oscar examined the kid, he looked harmless and smart...Well that perception was quickly changed with what he said.
“Right, let me have a look.”
Oscar leaned forward and grabbed the watch from the boy who had yet introduced himself, making his way over to the work bench where his tools were located he put the watch under a magnifying scope to have a better look at the finer details. The room was silent during this process, the tension could be cut with a knife but instead it was softened by him sighing.
“The good news is there's no damage.....”
Oscar couldn't put this more blunt, how could you go to a computer repair shop and ask them to fix the screen of a watch. Surely you'd go see a watch maker. Luckily he knew how to fix it, however the parts he needed he didn't keep on hand nor ordered in very often. Considering this wasn't a real tech issue.
“You do know what type of shop this is right?” Oscar felt the need to ask, depending on his answer would depend on how he would break the news to the poor fellow that he wouldn't fix it. After all this wasn't his job description, a phone repair shop or a watch maker was his best bet, but the kid did come out of his way to see him...Oscar did feel a little bad, not everyone was technological savvy, another sigh escaped.
“What's your name kid?”

This was the first time Oscar had heard of a brother from Julius, then again, he never really asked about his family. Assuming he didn't live in the apartment complex too, otherwise they would of met by now must of meant Julius was but the baby in the family. He thought it was interesting since Julius while quite was rather mature and from passing by conversation, you could of assumed he was the older sibling. Perhaps twins? It didn't really matter but, Oz was indeed curious to say the least.
“Sure I'd be glad to meet him. What's his name?”
A sigh escaped his lips as Oscar pulled out his phone, turning it on again and being pestered by the notifications from emails and text messengers from customers old and new alike. He checked the time and agreed it would most likely be best to head in and get some sleep. Nodding he made his way over to the elevator, pressing the button to call it up to the floor they were on. “Eight in the morning ill be out the front getting ready to leave to head down the street and for some coffee, it's only a...5minute walk or so.”
The elevator came up and opened, making his way Oscar held the door open for Julius. “That is if you want to come, no rush, I go everyday after all. If you want to join just meet down there.”
Oscar gave a small smile as silence grasped the room as the elevator traveled down to his floor, he was above Julius so when it stopped he gave his final goodbyes for the moment and followed up with a quick “See you another time.” As the doors began to closing, Oscar waved as he wheeled himself down the corridor and to his apartment by throwing his hand up.

Oscar got some good photos of the flowers and plants, he was happy with the scenery. Relaxing in a sense however he turned his body around within a quick motion, his thumb slipping on the button on his phone to take a picture as a girl sprung forth from the bushes as if she was a jack in the box. Their eyes met as he snapped a photo of the young girl before she ducked back down. The photo itself was blurry from the movement of said girl.
Oscar knew this area had a higher poverty rate then New Paris itself but he did not expect to see a squatter sleeping in the bushes of the gardens. This area just didn't seem too practical to sleep in over night, exposed to the elements surely lead to health problems every now and then. He didn't know what to say, he just stood at the bush waiting to see the girl pop back up again....It was a real person, right?
He double checked the camera and relieved any budding paranoia that he was going insane and seeing little girls in flower bushes spring forth. “Sorry, I didn't expect someone to be living here.”
Oscar said this non-nonchalantly, he didn't want to upset or make the girl angry, homeless people after all were quite dangerous.

Oscar laughed at the misfortune of the part-time manager, it was good she didn't get hurt but you'd think someone working as a manager in a coffee shop wouldn't make such a silly mistake. Signus seemed he wanted something, Oscar just had this feeling and was correct when he whipped a business card out. He didn't really notice it at first but upon proper inspection it had Julius name on it.
He wondered why Signus would have his business card, he didn't seem like the type of need legal help. Perhaps he was involved in something he shouldn't of been? Oscar didn't know, Signus seemed like just a talkative guy, now on second thought...Signus did seem like the type to get in trouble, not because he was a bad person but just from how talkative he was.
“Yeah...Actually, I do. He lives in the same apartment complex as me. You in trouble?”

He moved himself closer to the railing of the rooftop as Oscar looked below to see speeding lights from cars and flickering dots from street lamps. He understood what Julius was saying and felt it was rather honorable for him to think like that, although his words gave, Oz the impression that while Julius missed his parents he had been given closure and moved on somewhat.
Oscar yawned and stretched yet again, it was still early for him during the night however he felt more at ease and relaxed then normal. Perhaps it was due to having the other man around and sharing thoughts? He didn't know but his eyes met the others as he spoke, “My father worked with computers, I just followed suite. Guess it was in the blood for both of us.” Yes Julius didn't become a police officer, however, his line of work related to the cops somewhat so the statement was half true at least.
“I prefer coffee. Tea just seems like flavored water to me.” He laughed softly at the thought, coffee in essence was also just flavored water but the alluring aroma of a perfectly made latte with quality ingredients was one that indulged the senses of Oscar. A weak spot if you so would call it as such, “I really dislike the instant stuff though. Full of sugars, bad for you.”
This statement was ironic to say the least, Oscar a man who had a terrible diet and sleeping patterns talking about health and what was good for the body....
“There's this nice cafe down the block I normally go to every morning. If you want to join sometime?”
His invitation felt more like a question of; would you come and with me sometime?

Today was unique for a few reasons, the first being that Oscar was venturing out from the comforts of what he had known and visited Lovure for the first time ever. Even as a child his family never explored the remnants of Old Paris. The other reason was that Oscar had stopped all work for this trip, he had seen rumors on a local internet message board posting that within Tuileries Palace was but an exposed tower that had crowded away. If you were to look up at night through the crumbling beams and exposed roof you would see one of the most magnificent sights in term of star gazing. Oscar debated for the last couple of days if he was going to come down here but the thoughts of seeing the stars from a different angle, possibly even getting closer to them then before. The wunderlust, desire to see them drove him to the decision and a few days later Oscar had made his way to the palace.
Getting here was a chore, multiple taxis, public transport, etc. Not being able to drive himself was a problem so that's why he chose to leave so early in the morning. As the sun just started to rise he finally made it into the grand gates that still was an impressive work of architecture even though they were rusted. It would have been no earlier than nine-thirty in the morning when he had finally made it into the grounds of Tuileries Palace.
He was careful moving, being out here alone was defiantly a dumb idea, Oscar was already regretting not asking Julius to come with him or even that young spirited Jayce he had met the other day. The boy especially always seemed willing to lend a hand, plus he wouldn't have to worry about others smelling what he was smoking. He chuckled as he wheeled himself around. The building being old in design was not very wheelchair accessible however, Oscar knew a few tricks to get into places he shouldn't have with his chair. Backing up onto the steps from behind, he wiggled his body forward and back and in a brief split of a second used his motion to make a small bunny hop that could just clear the stairs. A loud grunt escaped as he repeated this a few more times before finally making it to the grand entrance.
The stonework of the building was astonishing, intricate and decorative imagery/patterns filled the walls and with a big push, a loud screech and dust flying everywhere, Oscar had managed to open the doors to the building. It felt like a haunted house for a few seconds, it was dead silent in here currently yet the air felt thick, it was as if there was other life here, yet, Oz could see nothing. His first stop would be to find the beautiful gardens he had heard about and relax in the lovely weather that was to come before figuring out a way to get to the west wing and up the stairs so he could see the stars from a new angle.
“Let's hope everything goes smoothly today.” He spoke to himself as he located the famous garden and was amazed from the beautiful flowers. It surely was a sign that even when all is lost, destroyed and forgotten life could still fight. Using the camera on his phone he started to take pictures of the flowers and scenery, he wouldn't come here again so why not make the most of it?
[newclass=.cred]text-align:center;font-size:9px;color:rgb(132, 132, 132);font-family:verdana;margin-top:5px;[/newclass] [newclass=.cred a]color:rgb(132, 132, 132);font-size:9px;font-family:verdana;[/newclass] [newclass=.iconbl]padding:15px;height:100px;width:100px;border:1px solid #777;[/newclass] [newclass=.iconimage]-moz-transition: all 0.92s ease-in-out;-webkit-transition: all 0.92s ease-in-out;-o-transition: all 0.92s ease-in-out;[/newclass] [newclass=.iconh]-moz-transition: all 0.92s ease-in-out;-webkit-transition: all 0.92s ease-in-out;-o-transition: all 0.92s ease-in-out;opacity: 0;[/newclass] [newclass=.iconh:hover]-moz-transition: all 0.92s ease-in-out;-webkit-transition: all 0.92s ease-in-out;-o-transition: all 0.92s ease-in-out;opacity:1;[/newclass]
Hobbies related not related to his job? Oscar didn't really, unless you would count looking at the stars on top of the apartment. But it was more a way to clear his mind so it seemed like a cop out answer that was too obvious to be right. “I enjoy my work, star gazing In a sense if you could what I do star gazing. When I was younger I liked playing baseball, American baseball is still fun to watch now and then again.”
He sounded so boring trying to explain its just in truth he never really thought of taking time off and enjoying things. He was working constantly to support himself, living out of home was hard, paying bills was hard, just being a grown up was hard. Julius knew of these hardships so Oz didn't need to explain it. “We should go see the tower sometime then, these sights are much better when you have company.”
Oscar suggested they hang out more, Julius was the type of person, Oz really liked talking with because he always made him think. Not many people could stimulate or ask questions, it was more like no one showed interest enough to ask normally. Most saw Oscar as a grumpy guy that was disabled, part of it was true, anyone would be grumpy if there were people that saw him as a lesser being and that's what was the root of most of his problems. Yet for the moment, he didn't want to ruin the amazing scenery and the conversation afoot.
“I'm sorry about your parents...Was that the reason you became a prosecutor?” He didn't mention it before but it felt right to say it now.

She started to push him and while it was rude of her he really didn't mind, after all it was free labor in a sense. He knew she'd soon realize how difficult it was to push him, she was but a small girl, she almost looked fragile like a precious gem from the glimpses he saw of her. The younger lad and the female seemed quite hostile with one another, maybe they knew each other from somewhere before or perhaps she was just a tad stuck up but when she mentioned perfume, Oscar finally smelt it himself.
It was a unique smell, but by no means was it perfume. He chuckled at his response to the suggestion, the boy known as Jayce seemed to have some sort of rebellious streak in him. As the saying goes, different strokes for different folks; Oscar really didn't care about the smell. Especially since there were that many people around what he could really only smell was the sweat and humidity the people produced in large spaces.
“Perhaps it's someone else that's wearing the perfume.” Oscar hinted at to try and save face for the boy, he wasn't one to take substances or smoke, however, it wasn't harmful for him so he really didn't care. Yet the girl made another comment about him having mobility issues and being hard to get around, it was to say the least insensitive and Oz let out a sigh that she would of heared to show how displeased he was.
“You know, getting around is hard. Perhaps this experience can help you realize how lucky you are to have functional legs. Unlike you, I'll never walk again.” It was almost upsetting to say but that was the reality of it, in truth it was more then just bad legs. Oscar couldn't feel anything below his waist besides slight twinges and tingles from time-to-time and he was somewhat annoyed he even of had to say that, “As for my work...I work with technology and software, run my own shop. Fixing, making, design. I do it all if the price is right. Yourself?”
“Oscar, sadly the pleasure is mine...” He didn't pay attention what Jayce was asking about the bag the female was holding, he just wanted this disastrous experience to end. The more time he spent around here the closer he would be to blowing up. Albeit it's not the teenagers fault, but the girl was slowly grinding his gears.

His morning coffee was one of the only time he enjoyed leaving the apartment and conversing with others, this was simply due he got to relax in a nice atmosphere that he could sit back and have a cup of java. Liquid gold some called it and especially within the past week this hour or so out of his morning truly made him believe that. That's when Signus came over, the two got along for in a sense that they'd have small talk when he was at the cafe but Oscar never knew too much about him nor did he share to much information about himself. “Not too much, just got a few jobs to complete. What Julius said made Oscar feel bad, he didn't know off his past but this brief insight showed part of his past to him and Oscar knew that there was pain there. I mean who wouldn't have some sort of baggage from their past with them? But He was glad because justice was given to the guilty party and It made Oz feel a little bit at ease knowing that Julius had that closure.
The breeze was lovely this time of night and Oscar was thoroughly enjoying the conversation, it was a nice change to be able to talk with another instead of being alone. He tried to remember if he had been recently to the tower, Oz could remember as a child visiting it quite often when he moved into New Paris with his mother and father, but recently? “Not for a long time, too many people for my liking. I would like to go see it someday again though.”
“Ever been to Dreamland?” Maybe a more childish question but Oscar wondered if Julius had a more fun and childish side that he didn't know of. He was curious about how Julius spent his time outside work, or the apartment complex, Oz rarely saw him around town but then again he didn't really get out much.

Today was busy for Oscar, he had to put together back two computers and replace their power supplies. Not only this but someone before had just rung up asking if he could design a website for their new business. He was happy to do these things, however, it took time and Oscar was already backlogged from earlier in the week. So he really couldn't handle any walk-ins today, yet it was the time of year where people seemingly had endless problems with their pcs, laptops, phones, etc and of cause his reputation and price drove a lot of business. In reality he couldn't complain, however, he defiantly felt overwhelmed.
The sound of his phone ringing broke the silence in the apartment, he had just finished installing the second power supply and was about to boot the personal computer up for the first time since he tore it apart. He sighed while reaching behind his back for the phone, grabbing at thin air like a claw machine he finally picked the receiver up, “Oz's Tech Repairs, how can I help?”
His voice wasn't suited for customer service but he tried to act professional. After a few mins he finished off by telling whoever it is on the phone if they came to the shop he'd have a look and give a quote. At the same time he was finishing up rebooting the computer to make sure it was working and just like that he hung up and powered the machine down. Satisfied with the results he unplugged all the chords and filled out the paperwork he kept for himself to keep track of what he was doing.
His apartment was tidy, and one could see various wires and tech laying around with paperwork sprawled all over the place, yet it didn't look messy. It was as if everything was put in place, which it was, Oscar never lost anything at his apartment. Then there was a knock of the door, pushing himself over he opened the door to a male who looked quite clueless. “You were the guy that rang before?”
[newclass=.cred]text-align:center;font-size:9px;color:rgb(132, 132, 132);font-family:verdana;margin-top:5px;[/newclass] [newclass=.cred a]color:rgb(132, 132, 132);font-size:9px;font-family:verdana;[/newclass] [newclass=.iconbl]padding:15px;height:100px;width:100px;border:1px solid #777;[/newclass] [newclass=.iconimage]-moz-transition: all 0.92s ease-in-out;-webkit-transition: all 0.92s ease-in-out;-o-transition: all 0.92s ease-in-out;[/newclass] [newclass=.iconh]-moz-transition: all 0.92s ease-in-out;-webkit-transition: all 0.92s ease-in-out;-o-transition: all 0.92s ease-in-out;opacity: 0;[/newclass] [newclass=.iconh:hover]-moz-transition: all 0.92s ease-in-out;-webkit-transition: all 0.92s ease-in-out;-o-transition: all 0.92s ease-in-out;opacity:1;[/newclass]
“I'm glad things are busy, beats having nothing to do.” Chuckling a bit his eyes matched Julius's as he nodded. Oscar appreciated the gesture and offer for help however he didn't reply. Choosing to ignore what he said out of pride even if it came off rude. He didn't need his help, nor did he need anyone's help, it had been years since he truly needed it.
The flicking red light as the plane crossed the darkened sky was still pretty and broke up scenery to bring Oscar back from any fantasy filled visions he has having while the conversation was unfolding. He took a moment to think about wishes, he did wish to be better, to be more normal...
“I wish I had working legs.....I guess that was obvious right. I'd do anything for that. I wish to fly in the sky, like a bird or a plane.” He sighed as he continued, his voice carrying through tones of pain as he started to slowly get more emotional. “I just wish I wasn't shackled to the ground so to speak, to be free is all I need. That's why I like it up here, the closer I am to the stars, the closer I am to capturing that feeling...I...Think so anyway.”
“And you?”

He pondered the question, do stars really change depending on where you look at them? The answer was technically no but it wasn't about the stars itself for Oscar, it was the experience. Embracing the brisk night's air and finding the answers you seek. It was freedom, the feeling of letting everything go and just being yourself, that was what star gazing meant. It fueled dreams, created hope although he didn't want to say as such because he doubted Julius nor really anyone would understand how he felt, after all he was different from all others.
Laughing he replied, “No all stars are the same.”
It was clear that he was hiding some truth behind what he said but Oz didn't want to seem crazy. The other question was one he was more comfortable giving his proper opinion on. “I try and come up here a few times a week, yeah. Sometimes daily, it depends. Being this high up gives me a sense of escape from the world and any problems.”
Oscar had always wondered if Julius job was stressful, in theory it seemed like it would be but Julius always seemed composed, like he knew what he was doing. Oscar admired that about him, “How's work been?”

Lost in his own train of thought, Oscar didn't really pay attention to anyone. He was just focused on doing his thing and leaving for his apartment. That was until he overhead the female behind him, it would of seemed his gut feeling was right, rarely it was wrong he dreaded the thought. Just as he was about to reply as kept to his own pace, the voice of another bellowed out. It was strange to hear the youth of today be the good Samaritan, although it was not needed. Oscar knew during these busy times it was an inconvenience to be stuck in a crowd behind someone with a wheelchair, he use to be like that but it's ironic that now he was the one in the wheelchair experiencing the ridicule and backhanded comments of others.
“It's fine....Please by all means push me if you wish and in so much of a rush you need to.” He slightly chuckled at the thought, a test of sorts to see really if she would actually do it. In reality it wouldn't matter too much, the crowd was that packed no matter how fast she would push him around they still would take a decent time to get to a clearing.
Looking over to the younger boy he smiled, Oscar's face looked droopy, the lack of sleep visible as it appeared to be etched into his skin. It was as if he eternally tired but he thanked the male with a nod and a warm voice. “You don't see many people these days standing up for others, thanks.” He stopped talking for the briefest of moments.
“I apologize miss, getting around in these busy places can be a challenge. In truth I tend to avoid them, I just needed to get this part for my job.”
He was sincere, although he felt like he shouldn't of had to apologize, he did mean it. The last thing Oscar wanted to be in this state was a problem for anyone.
