Chaos is known as the being that never became a star. It is everywhere and yet nowhere at the same time.
Neither good nor evil, the ultimate expression of nothingness. The antithesis of the cosmos, creation itself.
Although Chaos claims to be the very state of existence from which the first entities appeared, it cannot form into the entity it wants most.
So it has been cursed to stay in the form of a dark and shapeless void. Floating between existence and nonexistence.
Longingly watching as stars are constantly born and lives are lived. The seeds of malice had been planted, flourished and transformed Chaos into the purest form of evil.
[attr="class","nologicpost1"] A family tradition of sorts, Julius gave a nod, understanding where the other was coming from. It was almost funny really, even though he barely knew his parents outside of the stories he heard, he would be lying if he said they didn't influence him. He truly was his parent's son. "I have a brother...who is also interested...in computers..." or something like that. He wasn't sure if it was exactly the same thing. There were different aspects of computers such as software, hardware, the actual parts and who knows what else. Still, "Maybe..I could introduce...you two...sometime?" it might not be a bad idea. "Only if...you want to..." it might be nice for Oscar to meet someone who has a similar hobby to his own and Alex might find an occupation once he graduates. If everything went smoothly, both parties might benefit from this but of course, Julius wasn't going to push it. It was merely an idea that has been in his head for quite a while now but he never exactly found a good time to voice it. Hopefully, he had not chosen the wrong time.[break][break]
Coffee...Julius gave a small nod. In truth, he had quite a distaste for coffee after his first time trying it. Still, it shouldn't be hard to prepare, there should be instant coffee at the grocery sto-..or not. Julius gave a nod understanding health concerns even if he did not exactly follow them. His food cabinet and refrigerator was stuffed with instant food if only because it was easier. To think, once upon a time he was able to cook something of a decent meal. Well, it wasn't like anyone had to know right?[break][break]
A cafe down the block? Which one was he talking about? Hopefully, it wasn't one that was too busy. Seeing as this was Oscar, it probably was not too busy. Neither of them seemed to be able to stand crowds very well even if Julius never fully understood Oscar's reasoning for it. "If...it is no...trouble for you..." he stated. If Oscar wished to have time to himself, as the other tenants seemed to often hint at, Julius did not wish to rob that from him. Even if he did not mind talking to Oscar too much, and the man did not seem to mind the slowness in his speech.[break][break]
It felt strange though..making not only one but two plans in one night. Again, Julius didn't mind it as spending time with Oscar was never something he dreaded. He simply was not a very active person. Gray eyes looked at his conversation partner who seemed to find the cars below to be interesting. There was a temptation to reach out to the other in fear that he may fall off the railing even if it did not make sense. He was sitting down in a wheelchair, after all, there wasn't anything to worry about.[break][break]
"Should...we...go back..inside?" he found himself suggesting nonetheless.
[newclass=.nologicimg]height:70px;width:70px;padding:15px;background-color:#222222;border-radius:100%;float:left;margin:20px 25px 0px -35px;[/newclass]
Julius merely looked at the other, his eyes silently asking just what it was that had elicited the light laughter from the other. Just what was so funny? The prosecutor was ready to counter saying that while it was true Sandrine did not know where Julius lived (nor did he have any plans to tell the other), he could still find Julius's office. That much he should be capable of, right? If not, Julius could also just hand over his business card and that would be that. However, such an argument would have been for naught seeing as that was not what the defense attorney had meant. This conversation had gone off trajectory due to Julius's misunderstanding of the words. [break][break]
The older male bit his lips in silent contemplation..well...in truth..."no." He hardly ever had any plans outside of work and unfortunately he had failed in sneaking work back to the apartment today. Marcus had caught him and so...well here he was. He supposed he could wait until the rain is over and wander around...go on a small patrol to look for youmas. He could also try to read so he wouldn't fall behind on the book club even if he was uncertain if he could be available for the next meeting. Yet those were things he simply did when he had some time left. "you?" he asked if only out of obligation.[break][break]
Hopefully, the male across from his did not devote his entire life to saving convicts. He shouldn't be wasting his time with it at all.
[newclass=.nologicimg]height:70px;width:70px;padding:15px;background-color:#222222;border-radius:100%;float:left;margin:20px 25px 0px -35px;[/newclass]
[attr="class","nologicpost1"] Gray eyes watched as the boy inspected the tree or rather his power to damage it. Julius had done that a few times as well when he practiced in order to see the extent of his power. Sometimes it brought him comfort as it meant that should he miss his target, there would not be too much property damage. Of course, it also meant that he could have done better, there were youmas that did not go down with simply one hit. [break][break]
It was more of the words that came out of the boy's mouth that had caused Julius's eyes to widen. Arthur? Arthur and Merlin? Like..the Arthurian legend? Obviously, this boy could not be Merlin for many various reasons..or at least...not based on the old logic the prosecutor had once followed. Magic has truly changed his life that he found himself believing it...regardless of how shocking this was. The boy in front of him must be a vessel then...it was almost fascinating to see one. Those who were simply born with magic intact, just how many of those were there? [break][break]
The raven-haired male cleared his throat as he approached the boy hoping to catch his attention, "pardon me...did you just...say Merlin...and king Arthur?" Julius had expected vessels to be something more akin to...well deities or magical creatures. Then again, maybe he should have expected Arthurian legends in the ranks as the legends certainly had a long list of magical creatures. Yet with this revelation, Julius couldn't help but wonder how far this extended to. Was Harry Potter a possibility now?[break][break]
notes: the things you are making him think about now XD
[newclass=.nologicimg]height:70px;width:70px;padding:15px;background-color:#222222;border-radius:100%;float:left;margin:20px 25px 0px -35px;[/newclass]
[attr="class","nologicpost1"] Julius gave a nod, a job as a hobby. He had once tried to use that as an answer only to receive a rebuttal. He wondered if that was because the person he was talking to simply could not link the two or if there was something inherently different about the two jobs he and Oscar had. The male was unsure what one would consider stargazing. Was it simply looking up at the sky or was it studying it with a telescope? He decided not to voice the question and instead merely listened. Baseball was the last one. He knew that there were many parents who signed their children up for a sports team, he wondered if that was how Oscar had started playing baseball? And if he truly loved the sport...Julius made sure not to allow his eyes to wander over to the wheelchair.[break][break]
Gray eyes blinked as the owner glanced over at his companion, mouth somewhat agape. It wasn't as if Julius had never been invited somewhere but he would be lying if he said it stopped surprising him. The idea simply never occurred to him and so hearing it..he supposed. It wasn't like he would mind Oscar's company, in fact, he was quite content with it. Although, he wasn't sure if the sights would objectively change just because Oscar had company. Julius soon closed his mouth and gave the other a small nod. "Lets...do that..." the two never spent that much time getting to know each other and well, maybe Oscar can help Julius with his own social skills. From what he heard, the man rarely stepped out of his apartment but yet...he never seemed to doubt his words very much. So yes, that sounded like a good plan, who knows it might even be a little fun. Maybe. They weren't exactly books but the sights last time had been rather breathtaking. The two would just have to set some time for it, which shouldn't be hard either.[break][break]
Julius shook his head, "Don't be..." he had long accepted it. Was it hard during the first few years? Quite, he remembered breaking down and it was only Alex's hold that had kept him together. The realization that they were never going to go back home and the memories of his parents' voices slowly fading away over the years. The only thing he had of them was a few photos he kept in his apartment. The least he could do was remember the faces of the two people who brought him into this world. However, the years had helped him cope and he realized that he never had any wounds because he did not have that many memories of his parents. Alex had essentially become something of a parent to him or if not at least a guardian. And eventually, Julius stopped understanding the pity that was sent his way. He never felt as if he really missed anything even if at times his mind did wonder whenever he crossed paths with a family. Yet, he grew up fine...he became a prosecutor. If anything, Julius was more worried about Alex who had a much deeper connection with their parents. His hatred for the criminal was not so much because the man had killed his parents as much as he had hurt Alex.[break][break]
"But yes....that...was why..." the prosecutor confirmed, "I....wanted...to be a cop...at first...like my parents..." but it didn't exactly work out. Julius found himself to not be very athletic and eventually found a different path. Maybe it was to continue some kind of legacy as well, something to make him feel close to them. However, for the most part, it was just..."I didn't...want to...make anyone wait...like I did." People needed to know that justice would be served, that those who had commit harm would be punished. That their pains were heard and there were people out there who would give them that closure and knowledge.[break][break]
The man had essentially dedicated his life to that goal.[break][break]
"Why computers?" Julius asked his eyes trailing back over to his conversation partner. Surely there must be a reason, right? Then again, maybe he was just fond of it. Then something else occured to Julius..."Tea...or coffee?"
[newclass=.nologicimg]height:70px;width:70px;padding:15px;background-color:#222222;border-radius:100%;float:left;margin:20px 25px 0px -35px;[/newclass]
[attr="class","nologicpost1"] Julius had never needed to go to the outskirts very often nor did he even venture out to the 1st arrondissement either. No, he preferred to stick closer to the center of New Paris and for good reasons. There was safety there and even more importantly, there were hardly ever any reason to go out so far. The prosecutor had never been an adventurous soul and therefore he did not go out very much. On his days off, he would much prefer the comfort of his own apartment and a book in hand. If he had a meeting to go to, it was usually to see his brother or an old friend (which was not exactly a very long list).[break][break]
However, times have changed or rather his life has changed. The introduction of magic and the title of magi had taught Julius of another world he had never understood. Even with people such as a certain circus magician can help him, there were still many aspects of magic that confused Julius. For example..just about all of it. He understood the basics. Magis were people like him with their wish granted in return for helping Io by gathering grief seeds. Noblesse were those who had made a contract (it sounded much more like a proper contract honestly) who are given magic with certain conditions. Then there were vessels who were had spirits of magic entities in them. Lastly was corrupted, the kinds of people who serve chaos and needed to be rid of. Io had been kind enough to fill Julius in on that much but not so much on how to use or master his power.[break][break]
Which was why Julius was now in the outskirts in hopes of finding a good place to practice. He had used multiple methods of learning from video games, a shooting range, and well..he should probably learn how to use his magic better right? He needed to work on his aim and naturally the speed of conjuring his bow. Part of it seemed to be imagination and it seemed to work better when there was more light. Was there anything else he needed to know that? Just how exactly did magic work?[break][break]
In the middle of his thoughts, there was the sound of something that sounded like wood being cut? Was someone here? Curious, the male followed the sound until he saw a boy ranging from late high school to early college making small cuts into a wooden tree trunk. Wait...he didn't seem to hold a knife. If anything...magic? Unsure, Julius elected to stay there and just watch for now. He didn't want to alert the boy and possibly cause a fight but he was also not sure if the other was safe to make contact with either.
[newclass=.nologicimg]height:70px;width:70px;padding:15px;background-color:#222222;border-radius:100%;float:left;margin:20px 25px 0px -35px;[/newclass]
[attr="class","nologicpost1"] "Going...between now and...the winter holidays...have fewer people..." at least from what Julius has heard anyway. He knew there were a few people who were interested in the Eiffel tower but certainly did not appreciate the number of tourists. He had been to the tower once in his life by Marcus but he had never exactly returned. It had been nice, the man taking him doing off-peak and while Julius did appreciate the view, he was still unsure of how he felt about the whole thing. The man had not only bought his ticket but treated him to dinner there as well. But the sight was certainly something. Julius simply never had any reason to go back there.[break][break]
Dreamland...the amusement park. "Once...as a child." He couldn't exactly remember why he had gone there. Perhaps it was for a birthday party. In truth, he couldn't say he remembered much about the establishment and even if he did, it had most likely changed a lot. It was this time that one would ask the other if they had been there right? Yet, before Julius can find the right words, Oscar had asked him about his hobbies or at least past times.[break][break]
Gray eyes blinked, his eyes shifting between the sky, Oscar and the floor they stood on. Well, there was being a magi but Julius doubted that could count as a hobby. If anything, it was an obligation due to his deal with Io at worst and an extension of his duty to protect this city at best. Well, there was..."reading...I like to read..." and he was a part of a book club even if he rarely ever attended due to his busy schedule. Strangely enough, Julius could not even say it was because of his duty as a magi so much as being a prosecutor. The male would often find himself secretly taking his work home to read over the case or review evidence. He honestly admired people like Marcus who can balance between his work and social life.[break][break]
"Have you...been to Dreamland..or have hobbies?" Oh wait...that was probably computer huh? "Not related...to your job."
[newclass=.nologicimg]height:70px;width:70px;padding:15px;background-color:#222222;border-radius:100%;float:left;margin:20px 25px 0px -35px;[/newclass]
[attr="class","nologicpost1"] Julius had received and nod and nothing more. The prosecutor did not pursue as it was not in his place nor did he truly believe he was skilled enough in this area. His companion then answered his question stating what the prosecutor should have known all along. The other wanted a working pair of legs. He wanted to be able to move and become able-bodied. Julius never did learn the cause as he never asked but it was something he should have known when looking at the other. Then came his second wish which was to fly. A rather simple wish when one thinks about it wishes that people would have. Julius wondered what people around him would wish for. What did Alex want in his life? What did Bianca want? What about Sei? The list went on and on...wishes...something he had never once thought about simply because it had never occurred to him. [break][break]
The prosecutor gave a small nod even if he could not fully understand. What was it like to be shackled to a wheelchair and be unable to move? What was it like to not have control over oneself? Julius was unsure if he would be able to handle it should that happen to him, which really spoke to Oscar's strength.[break][break]
Gray eyes blinked at the question that the raven-haired male should have probably expected. His own wish..."I...don't have any..." well not anymore. The wish he had was already granted but then again...he had never thought of it as a wish, just a want. A desire to see something happened. "I...I once wanted...the man..that killed my parents...to go to...jail. A prosecutor...made it happened...recently." Or rather a magical entity that caused a chain of events for that prosecutor to obtain that guilty verdict. Although that wasn't really something Julius could say for numerous reasons. It felt strange though, for that to be the only desire he had but he did not find himself minding it either. But that would probably appear weird wouldn't it? Then again, a wish was something one wanted but could not achieve, they need the aid of others and Julius had received enough help in his life as it was. He did not wish to be a burden. [break][break]
[newclass=.nologicimg]height:70px;width:70px;padding:15px;background-color:#222222;border-radius:100%;float:left;margin:20px 25px 0px -35px;[/newclass]
[attr="class","nologicpost1"] All the stars were the same? Well...theoretically speaking Oscar was right. Stars by themselves were hardly distinct and people mainly only know them by their locations, right? Wasn't that how constellations work? Or was there more to it? Again, Julius would not really know. [break][break]
Problems? Julius blinked tilting his head in order to get a better look at his companion as if doing so would reveal these problems to him. Unfortunately, that was not how reality worked...even with the discovery of magic. Should he ask then? Would he be able to help though? Julius was hardly someone one could go to for comfort. However, maybe he can think of a solution? Would that help? Although asking for help could be hard and he did not want to embarrass Oscar either. Before the magi could make a decision, his nightly companion voiced a question.[break][break]
"Busy," he answered with a small nod. "But...not bad..." not really. It was a bit sad that it was busy as it meant that there were more victims but it almost meant that there were more chances of putting dangers to society away. A few of his recent cases had become more sensitive than usual with domestic abuse involved and another was reopening an old murder case. The only concern he had was whether or not he was up for the task. After all, Julius was still hardly experienced let alone a veteran prosecutor. Still, he had no plans to show any weakness, his clients had enough problems on their hands, he had to put their worries to ease.[break][break]
Gray eyes that were on the sky slowly turned back over to his companion, "if you have...problems...you can tell..." he stated as his eyes shifted over to the ground in contemplation, "if...you want...or...if you have someone...to talk to..." then it was fine. As long as Oscar had someone. Still unable to truly look at the brunette, the prosecutor looked back up to see what might have seemed like a star...until red lights flickered.[break][break]
A plane.[break][break]
"Have you...ever wished...for something?" It felt like a strange question but it did make Julius wonder with how his life had become recently. He became a magi because there was something he had desperately wished for: his parents' murderer facing justice. However, it did make him wonder, why him? Io had said there was something in his star seed but surely everyone in the world must have a wish right? People who were more desperate than he was such as seeing a loved one dying in front of them or whose life was nothing more than a tragedy.
[newclass=.nologicimg]height:70px;width:70px;padding:15px;background-color:#222222;border-radius:100%;float:left;margin:20px 25px 0px -35px;[/newclass]
Morrigan, Julius nodded to the name. It honestly sounded like a pretty nice name. He reminded Morrigan of the round that he still owed to her. The glare the bartender gave was not missed by the two. Like Morrigan, the prosecutor was also curious as the man hadn't glared at him before. Yet at the same time did it matter? He supposed it didn't in the long run as he doubted he would ever return to the establishment. Besides...gray eyes trailed over to his conversation partner. There were more important concerns right now. [break][break]
Julius turned around at Morrigan's words and saw that they indeed had company. Why now of all times was beyond him but there wasn't anything he could really do about it. Then again, maybe they just wanted a drink? No, that was not the case, not with how the man had stepped in between the two. However, as the man was addressing Morrigan, Julius decided to keep quiet. Sure she would tell him to go away, right? Julius did see her before this man after all.[break][break]
There was the sound of heels clicking on the wooden floor before Julius found the woman sitting on his lap. His arms moved to take hold of her and keep her close as if it was the most natural thing in the world. His head leaning closer to her to the point where he rested his head on her shoulders, gray eyes not exactly paying attention to what was going on around him. It was only when Morrigan caressed his chin slowly lifting it up, did his eyes managed to focus on something: her. [break][break]
Steel eyes glanced over at the man and his challenge. It was honestly tempting to say no. For one, Julius was not a drinker. Such loss of inhibition was not something he could ever truly agree to. Besides, why should the prosecutor waste his time competing with this low life of a man who would so rudely interrupt a conversation? People like him were most likely going to become criminals the next day. There was no need to waste his time on them. And yet, at Morrigan's voice, he turned his head to look over at the woman.[break][break]
"You'll win for me, won't you?"
Are you worth taking home with me, Julian~?
[break]
With those previous words at the forefront of his mind, Julius's hand took hold of Morrigan's shoulder before he gave a small nod. Teaching this man his place before one day seeing him in court wouldn't be so bad. Besides, Julius needed to keep Morrigan's interest if he was going to learn more about her. He couldn't let anything get in the way, especially not some drunken imbecile.[break][break]
Three glasses later and Julius couldn't help but silently thank his body. Either the magic helped or he had a higher alcohol tolerance than he thought. After all, he didn't feel drunk. He was...in complete control of himself still. In fact, looking around, Julius was almost sure he can drink thirty more and anything would happen to him. He saw how the other man's head fell onto the table and his eyes narrowed at the sight. Served the man right really. Wrapping his arms around Morrigan he made a quiet declaration, "I won." Gray eyes looked back at her waiting for her to lead him back to her place. He had earned it, had he not?
note: well she got him to drink and i had to look things up XD. also skipped the drinking part of that is alright with you.
[newclass=.nologicimg]height:70px;width:70px;padding:15px;background-color:#222222;border-radius:100%;float:left;margin:20px 25px 0px -35px;[/newclass]
[attr="class","nologicpost1"] So Julius wasn't interrupting Oscar, that was good to know. With those words, the male stepped out onto the rooftop, quietly closing the door behind him in order to not disturb the peaceful scenery. Gray eyes watched as the other stretched up to take hold of a visible star. It reminded of himself as a child often mistaking airplanes for stars in the night until he noticed that it was moving. That wasn't to say stars were not visible in the city but they were certainly harder to find in his opinion. Then again, Julius had never exactly left this city before either, perhaps that was just par for the course.[break][break]
The comment about the stars earned the other a small tilt of the head, his face remaining in their usual neutral state. Were they really? Again, it wasn't like the young Vesper would know. Not only did he lack the experience of looking at the stars from other areas but he also lacked the interest. The stars were nothing more than something to look at. Julius gave a small nod to the question before walking over to the wheelchair. He wondered if Oscar couldn't sleep or he just liked looking at the stars. He had heard other tenants commenting how they would see Oscar on the rooftop when they were heading home late at night. It wasn't really something Julius ever commented about though. Oscar was an adult and his work schedule was he to choose. As long as it worked for him, there was no reason to try to persuade the other. [break][break]
"What do stars look like...in other places?" he asked rather curious. Julius hardly ever found himself a conversationalist (not with how difficult it was for him to find the right words) but he did like seeing the passion in others. It was always interesting and it reminded him of why he did his job. He wanted to make sure harm wouldn't fall onto people who to achieve their goals without harming others. "Do...you do this..often?" If so then maybe Julius could come up here? Even if there was an elevator and Oscar could very well take care of himself, it would be nice to talk to someone when insomnia hits him. Not that his books didn't help.
[newclass=.nologicimg]height:70px;width:70px;padding:15px;background-color:#222222;border-radius:100%;float:left;margin:20px 25px 0px -35px;[/newclass]
[attr="class","nologicpost1"] Insomnia wasn't something that really ever struck Julius. Perhaps nothing had ever affected him enough to keep the male up at night. However, there were nights where he was restless, just days where the prosecutor found himself unable to sleep. On nights like these, the male often found himself forgoing sleep (caffeinated tea was truly mankind's greatest invention) and headed for the rooftops. A little exertion of energy might help.[break][break]
As the male opened the door, his eyes spotted a brunette in a wheelchair, Oscar Brown, a fellow tenant. Julius had even used his services a few times when his laptop or phone acted weird. His price was reasonable enough and the fact that he was very close also made it easier to reach him. Although due to the prosecutor's job...he usually made things appear urgent and has also tried to treat Oscar to a few meals out of guilt.[break][break]
"Am I...interrupting?" Not that there was anyone else on the roof but well..perhaps Oscar wanted to have the roof to himself. Julius could just head back to his apartment and read a book or even take a walk if that was the case. Almost nervous of intruding on the other, Julius started to close the door just enough so that they can still talk to each other, his feet still inside the building rather than out on the rooftop.
note: made a few assumptions so totally hmu if you want any edits
[newclass=.nologicimg]height:70px;width:70px;padding:15px;background-color:#222222;border-radius:100%;float:left;margin:20px 25px 0px -35px;[/newclass]
[attr="class","nologicpost1"] As strange as it was, the sensation of falling wasn't exactly new to Julius. There were times where he had overestimated his body (or rather its magic) and did not make a jump. The fact that he had something that could break his fall had always helped him and his body was usually durable enough. However, this time, a hand had reached out and grabbed onto his arm. With no ledge to use, Julius had to depend on the woman to pull him up. The comment about a gym membership was heard but the firefighter merely received a small blink. He didn't care much for the gym despite how he imagined his parents to be with their occupation. He also did not exactly have any plans to run into another fire and he can only hope that the woman did not think he made this a habit.[break][break]
Once he had been dragged up and helped away from the ledge, the prosecutor gave her a small nod of gratitude. "A...yah...ka..." he repeated the name that was certainly foreign. Not that it was anything new, not everyone had a French or Angelo name. Julius obliged to her words and did not applaud Ayaka..not that he had any plans to. This was her job after all and they were on a time limit.[break][break]
Yes, as the firefighter commented, it was hard to hear anything. At the mention of magic power, the woman received a blink. Did she know or was it just a figure of speech? A few months ago, Julius would have believed in the latter but well... let's just say recent events had opened his eyes a little. Still, it wasn't as if magic was a well-known knowledge so...Julius shook his head. Even if he admitted to being a magi, it wasn't like his magic allowed him to magically find people. "Lets move," because obviously standing still wasn't going to help and they still have the find the room in this apartment complex.[break][break]
The two ventured down from hallways and stairs until...Julius tilted his head. Was that a sound? "A scream?" the male muttered looking over his companion. Then it came again, yes this was certainly a child's scream. Gray eyes hardened as the prosecutor started to sprint down the hallway.
note: forget catching, you might have to carry me soon with julius's rash actions XD
[newclass=.nologicimg]height:70px;width:70px;padding:15px;background-color:#222222;border-radius:100%;float:left;margin:20px 25px 0px -35px;[/newclass]
[attr="class","nologicpost1"] The moment Julius felt his companion had stabilized her footing was the moment he had let her go. Gray eyes measured the gap before asking if the woman (she had to be at least eighteen to join the fire department) if she believed she could make the gap. If not, they would have to try to look for another way. At her instructions, the prosecutor stepped back in order to give her room to make over the gap. In truth, he wasn't even sure if he could make it but the firefighter had He watched as she made a run, feeling not exactly a chill but rather for a moment it almost felt easier to breathe. Then again, perhaps that was only his imagination.[break][break]
Either way, the woman had been able to clear the jump making it to the other side. Julius was expected to do the same..even if he was quite unsure. Nonetheless, the firefighter had given him instructions and he saw that it was indeed clearable. Theoretically...he should be able to do it then right? As the male thought this through, the woman had asked him for his name. Gray eyes blinked as he blankly stared at her. Did they really need any form of identification if they were the only two at the moment? Nonetheless, there was nothing wrong with giving her his name. "Julius," he stated unsure if his voice was able to get past the roaring fire.[break][break]
With the introduction of the way, Julius started to make a run over to the gap and jumped. Unfortunately, his body was not as athletically trained and he found himself falling. It didn't come much of a surprise nor did Julius really feel any fear. If he fell down, he can use his magic to help himself after all but nonetheless, he found himself trying to reach over to the firefighter. She did tell him that they needed to stay close to one another.[break][break]
[newclass=.nologicimg]height:70px;width:70px;padding:15px;background-color:#222222;border-radius:100%;float:left;margin:20px 25px 0px -35px;[/newclass]
[attr="class","nologicpost1"]Alex had to stop, he had to know what he was doing was wrong. Even if he hadn't killed anyone, he was still hurting them. He would be fighting against other magis, vessels and nobless. He had to know that this should not continue because one day..one day there would be blood on his hand. There was a moment of silence where Julius found himself holding his breath. Alex's hand reached forward and Julius couldn't help but watch the hand with such attention. Even if his vision was still blurry, even if breathing was still hard, he found himself almost hyperfocused on that hand as it came over to reach over to him. It went past his hand and there was a feeling of resignation. It was almost comical how he didn't even feel disappointed. Certainly shocked but there was also a justification for it. [break][break]
Alex had power now and Julius knew what that felt like. To have the power that could allow one to change the world for the better or to protect society. Who would give that for someone who was nothing more than a responsibility at best and a constant reminder of a broken past at worst? Gray eyes closed as he felt the hand touched his head expecting some kind of blow to kill him. Alex must have killed them somehow. And who knows, maybe this was the best ending for Julius. He knew he would never have it in him to kill Alex nor let Alex be killed. Yet he couldn't live knowing Alex would hurt someone. Death might not be so bad after all.[break][break]
When gray eyes opened, the first thing Julius saw was Alex. Huh? There was a dazed look in the young prosecutor's eyes as he observed his surrounding. This was certainly their apartment but how did Julius get here? And why did it feel like there was something...something about Alex and...his heart? It was hard to grasp...but it was there. "Alex..." he started before noticing the bag with some boxes of to-go food (or so he assumed..or did he know that?) on the floor. "Was...I...visiting you?" that probably sounded like a weird question, "sorry I just...I...blanked out?" Then he spotted the bandage and gray eyes widened, "are you alright?" he asked his hand just hovering over the bandaged wound instead of on his brother's sleeve (why was he holding it there in the first place?).
[attr="class","nologicpost1"]Victims? Was that what they were? No...Julius shook his head. They weren't victims. Victims were powerless. Victims didn't have magical powers, victims needed others. Victims didn't go around hurtings others. Those were criminals regardless of what other words they might try to use for themselves, that was what they were. They were never criminals. Someone who had gotten revenge against a single person for stealing something from them was a criminal. The same can be said for those who stole from others. There was no excuse for crimes.[break][break]
"We're killers..." because if they were partners, then Alex's sins were Julius's own. Julius had failed him. He had failed the only family he had left. But there was a difference between this and a normal crime. For one there was no proof and revealing his brother's crime would bring attention to magic. The second was that there wasn't exactly a criminal justice system among magic users. Yet, Julius couldn't let him go free. More people would be hurt and Julius couldn't pretend to just be ignorant because he wasn't. Not when he knew that Alex was a corrupted now or at the very least used his power to harm others.[break][break]
Just how many has he hurt? His left hand moved down slightly touching his earing, the earing that was also the container for his soul. A reminder of his contract with Io. And the worst part was throughout all of this, Alex didn't just tell him what to do because even his brother didn't know. There was no one that can tell them what their punishment was. It was to be their own decision and Julius didn't know what to do. He..he couldn't just tell his brother to kill himself and there was no jail they can go to.[break][break]
Despite his actions earlier, shaking hands reached over grabbing onto his brother's sleeve. Even if he wanted to protect his brother, he couldn't...he couldn't just hurt the innocent. But what if..."please..just..promise me...you'll stop..." if there were no more victims. It would be fine right? It went against everything Julius stood for. He knew that the man who had killed his parents had never committed any other crime afterward but Julius still felt a thrill at hearing the judge declare him guilty. Somewhere out there, then someone would feel the same about Alex should they know the truth. And yet...Alex was his brother. Alex wasn't the same as that criminal. And Julius would do anything for his brother.
