Chaos is known as the being that never became a star. It is everywhere and yet nowhere at the same time.
Neither good nor evil, the ultimate expression of nothingness. The antithesis of the cosmos, creation itself.
Although Chaos claims to be the very state of existence from which the first entities appeared, it cannot form into the entity it wants most.
So it has been cursed to stay in the form of a dark and shapeless void. Floating between existence and nonexistence.
Longingly watching as stars are constantly born and lives are lived. The seeds of malice had been planted, flourished and transformed Chaos into the purest form of evil.
It wasn't the first time Julius has experienced someone who does not speak directly. It was a common technique witnesses use when they didn't want to reveal something. However, cross-examination should not be held as an example of how normal conversations should be. And so, Julius could not exactly be sure why the man had not answered directly right away. It almost reminded him of when he was younger and was trying to hide the fact that he had stayed up last night to finish up a really good book. Again though, that usually had to deal with accusations and reasons for the secret. Before Julus could debate on it too much, the clown stated that he was a simple magician. Well...maybe the prosecutor should send a text to revise his earlier statement. It was a magician, not a clown. Maybe they just put on these kinds of makeup now. [break][break]
Gray eyes followed the movement of hands and what was once empty, palms on the table now was holding a deck of cards. There was a slight widening of the eyes and perhaps like most people, Julius found himself trying to figure exactly how that worked. The man's sleeves were not that long for it to be an answer. A secret compartment under the table? No, there didn't seem to be any cards when the palms were down and away from the table.[break][break]
Then as if reading the prosecutor's mind, or perhaps he had just expected such train of thought, the magician (who may just be purposefully speaking in rhymes...or it was a coincidence) asked Julius if he believed in magic. Was this some kind of script or? Was Julius supposed to say something? He didn't exactly want to lie but he didn't want to ruin what the man's script either. There was a quick glance to see if any children were close to them. He would really rather not ruin it for hem as he too had once believed in magic. Of course, Julius has also grown up since then. "It's not tragic..." not exactly. "It depends on the context," he continued trying to choose his words correctly. "A child believing in magic is normal." It showed a form of imagination and watching them try to explain the world. There was also that certain excitement that Julius did not want to ruin for them. It certainly wasn't tragic. "A magician is quite amazing for being able to keep the magic as well." Julius had only ever mastered one trick before giving up if only because he wasn't very good at making movements to distract people. Nor was he a good entertainer for that matter. "But...those who depend on magic as if it's some definitive solution rather than trying to better themselves...blind faith as some excuse to not improve oneself is...tragic." Tragic and honestly rather disgusting in Julius's eyes. One should never seek anything whether it was magic, fate or whatever supernatural force as the only answer to their problem when there was no certainty in it. There was another pause before something occured to Julius...the man probably was not aiming for that was he? "Sorry...will you show me your magic?" he asked more to appease the magician than anything else.
Julius gave a nod, so it wasn't like normal merchandises. Well, that was something to keep note of should the prosecutor ever do this again. Which, unfortunately, was certain. Although..the way she commented on how it was different from shoes and cellphone...the difference between merchants and artists he supposed.[break][break]
Gray eyes watched the girl place the brooch. There was a caution in her movement as if to make sure that she would not damage the item in her hand. "I'll pay all of it now," he stated almost absentmindedly as he took out his card. It would be better for him in the long run even if it hurt him quite a bit now. Once he had paid for the trinket, the male gave a small 'goodbye' and left.[break][break]
Mistakes were made...that was the only thing that crossed Julius's mind as he stared at the people. He really did not belong here. Not so much because he couldn't pass. Oh no, his clothes were alright or at the very least they did not make him stand out too much. It was more of...well...it was just too much for him. There were too many people, some with interest in him while others minded their own business. Some also seemed to just want to strike up a conversation for one reason or another. [break][break]
So, he had been more than happy to walk out to the balcony with his drink. The white wine in his hand, the male had hoped to be able to have some time just for himself only to see a familiar girl with gray hair. "Madame Masseur?" he couldn't help but ask...assuming it was the same girl..and if he was even remembering the right name on her name tag.
It did not take long for the girl to move and take the requested item from the case. At her beckoning, Julius took a few steps to look closer at it. He gave a nod agreeing to it upon closer inspection saw that the design was good. At her question though, the male shook his head. He didn't really plan to buy any protections or guarantees, he never did. The prosecutor often tried to take good care of his belongings. However..."Is that the only one left?" he couldn't help but ask with an arched brow. Usually one would only sell what was in the display case if it was the last one. If that was the case...would the price be lower? He knew in certain cases it was as there was a chance it had been touched multiple times but it really depended on the shop, didn't it? All he could do was wait to see.
Okay that was one down and because it was night right now that meant there wouldn't be too much light, hopefully, that wouldn't catch anyone's attention. Well, a burst of light in the dark may catch some eyes but hopefully, people wouldn't think too much of it? Well except for the skeleton's anyway with how close they were to it. Before he could think of what to do (which was probably going to be run and trying to read them somewhere else until Julius can come up with an actual plan) there was a fog of mist. Wait..they can do this!?[break][break]
The prosecutor had to prepare himself, last he checked they were close to him. Even it meant others can't see him, hence it was easier to use his power, he couldn't exactly take that chance. Or rather, he couldn't take the chance of accidentally hitting the girl because he couldn't see very well in the mist. He took a few steps back squinting his eyes in hopes that it would help him see to find that it didn't. Of course, it didn't. There were two orbs of light that he managed to see if even if their visibility was quite covered by the fog. Soon it was gone just as it had come and Julius found two skeletons on the ground.[break][break]
Well, that raises questions.[break][break]
Julius blinked to see it was the girl from earlier with the baseball bat who hadn't run. And from what she was saying, it was quite obvious that she saw his power. Great. There was a reason why he was a prosecutor who had time to consider and plan things rather than a police that had to truly think on their feet. Making split-second decisions didn't exactly come naturally for him, nor did they often end well. Even more though was that she said he was a magical being. Which honestly raised even more questions. He wouldn't exactly say he was a magical being as much as just someone that uses magic. He would hardly consider the girl a magical being..had she not said then. Then again, maybe he was just reading too much into it.[break][break]
Before he could answer her questions let alone ask any of his own, he spotted the way the girl's eyes widen. Looking back, he saw some more chasing after them. Whether they were already chasing the two from before or if they were drawn by the small light, Julius wasn't exactly sure. Either way though, the prosecutor found himself running along with the mysterious girl. There was power in numbers. [break][break]
That was when they ran into a rather familiar figure. Emile!? Gray eyes widen but before he can find anything (as they were in a more public area), Julius couldn't exactly use his power. Not without answering too many questions and looking like some insane person. Then again, literally skeleton people moving around like zombies might make his story a bit more believable if he ever found the right way to tell it. Although maybe minus the wish-granting part if only because he didn't want any chance of that criminal ever getting out. [break][break]
When the dark twin haired girl dropped her bat, Julius felt his breath hitch. What was she thinking!? Quickly he picked up the bat just as one of the skeletons had been a bit faster than the other back. He swung the bat (maybe he should invest in one of these...if not at least a gun should anything like this happen again), "we should get going." Staying still was a pretty bad option right now with at least four of them still coming over.
tldr: chased by 5 skeletons and followed YVETTE YAMAMOTO over to Émilie Cadence . picked up the bat YVETTE YAMAMOTO dropped and killed 1 skeleton before telling them they should go. also doesn't exactly say hi or greet emile because wtf is being a social person.[break] julius:3[break] in total: 11
Well if that wasn't the reason, why did Emile point that out? Unless she meant to compliment him by stating that Julius was doing a good job? As if he was being a good Samaritan, to which he would argue he really wasn't. He was paid to make sure the criminals go to jail or prison. Even if one was to take his magical job into account he was already paid for his services in advance. Emile, on the other hand, actually had nothing to benefit in this situation. She wasn't getting paid, in fact, she was denying payment. Still, that did make the prosecutor curious as to why she wouldn't accept any favors in return. [break][break]
First-year medical student..so that should put her roughly around 21 to 22 years old. He gave a nod storing that information away even if he doubted they would ever meet again. New Paris was a big city and they did not exactly have any connections to one another. This meeting in itself was nothing more than a mere coincidence. There wouldn't exactly be a loss in the two never see each other again. [break][break]
The curiosity was not exactly unwarranted seeing as yes, it was probably rather strange to see a prosecutor injured. He couldn't exactly say he was being undercover or investigating a case as it was not his job. And even with police officers, they were usually put in pairs if they were doing anything dangerous. Julius decided to keep his silence though if only to keep up with the appearance she had for him. What she had said afterward though, made the male arch a brow. The request was rather...simple or well theoretically. It may be hard in practice given the nature of Julius's more... let's say magically inclined duties. That was not even talking about the danger he would face in his more secular life should Julius become notable in the future. Of course, it wasn't like Emile would be able to check on him because she may have his number and know where his office is, his address wasn't exactly on the card. [break][break]
"I'll...try..." the prosecutor eventually stated if only because he couldn't really guarantee. "Things happen." Not that he always got this badly injured. There were days where it was just a few scratches and days where he got more. At the very least, he hasn't broken anything in his body yet so that has got to be something right? "Thank you...for your concerns...though." He finished up the tea and found himself slight shivering as if his body had just registered the difference between its own temperature and the room's. "If..you ever need help..." well she had his card. Although in truth...he kind of hoped she wouldn't call him. People don't exactly call prosecutors when they have good news to tell. There was another short pause before, "I...probably took too much of your time now. Thank you for treating me, Miss Emile."[break][break]
note: sometimes you just gotta kill the a suspect when it looks like they are gonna get out of a sentence -shot-
Julius blinked at the various titles Emile had given to him during her adventure in trying to find what to call him. It was honestly rather amusing and the prosecutor was thankful that he was not very expressive. The last thing he would want was for her to think that he was laughing at her. Despite how humorous it quite was. Soon, she seemed to settle for Mr.Vesper as the way to address him. He gave a few suggestions of what he can do for her the first being cooking (before remembering that his culinary skills were severely lacking) and then came the idea of just paying a meal. That would probably be easier. Then again, now that he thought about it, her apartment was in the better part of town. Can he afford her taste?[break][break]
Perhaps that didn't matter though as Emile's face seemed to become red as she gave a rather rapid denial. "I get paid," Julius gently reminded the woman and maybe teasing her a little bit. Despite how he might look and his more than often slow verbal reaction, Julius was quite good talented when it came to logical arguments. Actually, he was good at arguing in general, as to be expected from someone with his career. It just needed to be something he was interested in...as those in his book club would know. "Are you in the medical career?" he couldn't help but asked seeing as according to her words, that did seem to the base. Julius had a sneaking suspicion earlier but had merely written it off as the woman appearing a bit too young. However, maybe she really was in the medical career.[break]break]
Again there was a moment of silence as Julius was ready to leave the conversation once he finds a good opening. However, the sound of beeping made the male blink before turning his head to the direction of the sound. That didn't sound like a fire alarm. Emile had explained she had prepared tea because his boy temperature was probably lower than normal due to injuries. He...was honestly not sure if that was how it worked or not. Yet, it sounded like he would trouble her too much. Really, Julius could just get some tea at a cafe. He was about to open his mouth and say so, but the woman had quickly left without ever giving him a chance.[break][break]
If the male didn't know better, he would say Emile had done that on purpose.[break][break]
"You weren't rude," Julius defended the woman or maybe attacked her excuse. Nonetheless, not wanting her to feel too guilty, he took the cup and drank from it. "You didn't really force me either and I too was late in introducing myself." he continued to list between the sips before he realized..ahh...perhaps she wasn't really looking for some kind of defense. Esepcially seeing as such defense was unnecessary when Emile had done nothing wrong. "Thank you." Gratitude was usually better, right? "You have good taste." Albiet probably expensive ones.[break][break]
note: idk, yvette as a bdsm skeleton in her closet soooooo
Julius was not sure what was more unbelievable at the moment. The fact that he had been convinced to go to the carnival with his friend (or rather unable to find an adequate excuse to deny) or the fact that they had somehow magically gotten lost from one another. Just how did it even happen? One moment, Julius had been looking around rather confused about how any of this was supposed to be 'entertaining'. He would honestly rather read a book to take him to another world, especially since it wasn't filled with so many people that it can be somewhat suffocating. Then when he turned to try to keep track of his friend...well he had already failed.[break][break]
The prosecutor sighed as he made a mental note to just be more honest and say the didn't want to go because this was simply not to his liking next time. Then this would not have to happen. The male had wandered around giving many 'excuse me's and 'pardon me's along the way to people of various age before he found himself near some clown only without the nose, and the usual clothes. The makeup though certainly cry clown or if not then some kind of carnie which really made sense seeing where Julius was at, at the moment.[break][break]
I"m next to the blue-haired clown. I don't think you can really miss him. He texted to his friend while standing next to the clown despite the open seat. The person was rather still and his skin rather white that Julius would have mistaken him for a statue if not for the fact that they wouldn't place a statue of a person on a stand like that. At least..he was quite sure they wouldn't. [break][break]
There was a moment of silence as Julius stood there debating on whether or not he should humor the person. Not many people seem to pay attention to said clown other than a few pointing him out. Well, one had tried to approach the clown only for their mother to drag him back and tell him the clown needed to rest. Eventually, Julius figured he should talk to the clown a little bit, maybe see if he had a trick and then tip him for it. It would be weird to just use him as a meeting point and not giving him anything back. "Excuse me," the prosecutor began, "what do you do exactly?"
Did Julius fall and land on his back? Well yes...sort of. Emile then introduced herself despite noting the fact that he would already know from the concierge. It must be a cue to give out his own name. "Julius...my name is Julius." he introduced himself his eyes more pointed at the ground than trying to look at her. In his defense, she was behind him and he doubted turning around would really help her inspect him. [break][break]
There was a moment of silence except for the small hisses when the antiseptic was used. He hated how it still hurt even with a dry wound. One would think that technology would help them make it not hurt. When it was over, Emile had asked Julius if he was in a gang or something of the like. He didn't listen to her theory as much as focusing on putting his clothes back on with gritted teeth. He was sure that he might have pulled on the sleeves of his coat too tightly. The idea that Julius Vesper would be connected to any kind of criminal activity.. [break][break]
Emile soon backtracked or rather she had stopped guessing about his background. She could still very well guess that was what he was. "I'm not," he practically grounded out before taking a deep breath. It wasn't her fault. It was a logical conclusion to come to, the fact that Julius was unwilling to go to the clinic had probably only helped. In order to prove so to her, he reached into the pocket of his coat to pull out his card case and handed her his business card.[break][break]
Another moment of silence before Julius asked, "are you sure there isn't anything I can do for you?" He didn't want to be in debt to someone whether or not they would see it like that. "Maybe cook or something?" Not that he was a great chef. Actually if anything, he ate out so...maybe not. "Actually...I could..just treat you..." that would probably be better.[break][break]
The woman told Julius that he did not need to pay her back and honestly knowing people like her exist really did make this whole endangering himself with fighting magical monsters and doing his best to put criminals away worth it. He looked down as she took hold of his hand and he followed in line with her steps. Her second comment though..was not as kind. Did he really look like the type? He would like to say he used disinfectant and wipes to clean his cuts before putting some band-aid on them. That...that was usually good enough. Again, that might just be because of his modified body more than any actual first aid skills he had.[break][break]
As they walked, the woman assured the prosecutor that it would not be far. He gave a small nod and they walked in a rather comfortable silence. It shouldn't exactly thank a genius to see that Julius was not exactly the talkative type...well unless they met him in court anyway. Talking when there was a goal made things easier, it gave the conversation a direction. Personal conversations always felt hard for him...although it was made a little bit easier with people he was used to. Unfortunately, he was currently with a stranger. A kind stranger, but a stranger nonetheless. True to her words, it wasn't long before they arrived and the place had looked rather nice. She must have been rich. Julius couldn't have exactly tell by the clothes (as he wasn't exactly into fashion) but he certainly knew a good section of the city and apartment when he saw one. Even more was that he learned her name from the concierge. Emile...so that was her name. [break][break]
Julius entered when Emile held the door out for him. He had been ready to introduce himself (as it was only fair seeing as he now knew her name) when she had told him to feel free to sit on the couch. Gray eyes fell onto the couch and he wasn't exactly sure if he wanted to sit on the couch. It wasn't that he was bleeding so the couch wouldn't get blood stains but...it was probably expensive, right? Yet, where else would he sit? Hesitantly, the prosecutor went over to sit on the couch making sure to sit on the side and taking as less room as possible. The owner of the apartment left but quickly returned with a first aid kit.[break][break]
The male obeyed her instruction and took off his clothes starting with his jacket and then his shirt. He made sure to fold it as nearly as he can before putting it on his lap. Glancing down he can see the cuts on his body which...wasn't too bad but he had a feeling his back might be a different story. That creature he had chased had been fast and often knocked him around from behind. God, he can only hope she wasn't going to ask questions. "Nice...apartment..." he stated if only to start some kind of conversation that would hopefully distract Emile enough. [break][break]
note: so telling the cat to be a furless cat or get out of the clothes? also, he is sooo awkward right now XD
There was a long moment of silence after Julius's request but it wasn't so much because the girl needed to process if only because she was looking at the selection. The fact that she had not quickly suggested something for him was quite a relief. For one, she didn't just throw something expensive and tried to sell it off to him so she might be putting some thought to it and more importantly...it meant that picking jewelry was not easy. The latter really made him feel better about himself. [break][break]
The woman soon suggested two, one of them was rather pricey. It was a chained brooch that connected to a rooster, the national state animal. That honestly fitted him rather well but the price wasn't exactly very agreeing. It wasn't that Julius couldn't afford it. He could but did he really want to spend that much on something that he might even not even wear that often? The other option was something cheaper and honestly more enticing even if it did look plainer. It was nothing more than a flower brooch. It would stand out on the black suit and he suppose that should be enough, right? Pale hands melodically tapped on the glass as he tried to think this one through. Invest in something good but he might only wear it a few times or in something a bit cheaper. A sigh parted from his lips before he turned to look at the employee.[break][break]
"I believe, I shall take the second one." The prosecutor shouldn't need to stand out too much. He was still rather new after all so just looking decent should be enough for the party. Maybe in the future, he'll invest in something a bit more expensive.
It felt weird to have someone younger than Julius groan at him. Nonetheless, he didn't emote much and merely just watched the woman in front of him as she stated that it wasn't a very good lie. Well..sort of. Again, he was sure that if he didn't have a much more durable body, it probably would have hurt a lot more. So...it kind of wasn't really a lie. Not that he could really tell her that. "How would you know?" he asked back because as far as he knew, she was a somewhat familiar woman. And well...most people weren't exactly the best judge of the human body. Was she a doctor? She looked a little bit young to be one.[break][break]
Nonetheless, Julius did his best to reassure her. Clearly, he needed to work in his reassuring skills...or social skills in general really. She pointed out how even if he didn't need stitches (thank god as he did not really know how he was supposed to stitch himself) there was still the risk of infection. Which was very true. Julius knew that his body was more durable but he wasn't sure if that meant that he couldn't get sick or infected or if his immune system was still that of a normal human. He almost wished the person that had given him his power had also given him a contract to read through so he can understand just how much his body was going to be 'magically modified'.[break][break]
"I can disinfect it myself," he assured her. He can get some disinfectant at a store seeing as his apartment was a bit on the other side of the district. He then did his best to excuse himself only for the woman to have stopped him, not only with her words but her body as well. Julius had stopped and stared at the woman in front of him knowing that she wasn't going to leave him alone now. Her reasoning sounded rather...flawed. "I am not sure if that...is how it works..." he informed her while not exactly meeting her eyes. If anything, bumping into someone meant that he should be making sure that she was okay, from which he can tell she seemed alright. [break][break]
The offer to her place had been surprising but what was even more surprising was the excuse that she had given him. That..that sounded like a good excuse. And really, it wasn't like she was going to leave him any time soon. "If...you...don't...mind..." came his reply, "the clinic is...quite expensive." There was another pause as he knew that he was inconveniencing her with this, good Samaritan or not, he was sure that the woman had a life outside of some stranger who ran into her. "I'll pay you back...somehow." He can honestly probably just drop some money on the way out.
note: your stubborness got him to follow you home XD
As embarrassing as it was...Julius was quite a fan of Halloween. No, it wasn't so much for the holiday itself. The man had never been a very outgoing active person back in his younger days. He didn't care for dressing up and pretending to be someone else whether it was some popular fictional character on tv, a famous celebrity or just the basic Halloween monsters. So what did he like about Halloween? Hard candy. Trick-or-treat meant getting free candy and trading it with the family he was staying with. As an adult, it meant being able to buy hard candy at a discount rate. While most would buy the discounts after Halloween when stores would try to sell any extra candy, if one was observant enough, they can sometimes find sales or discounts on the normal candy.[break][break]
Which was why Julius found himself rather content with his first bag of candy from the store. He also noted the various cars passing by, and people who were walking down the streets. Many were in costumes but there were some like him that had opted out of it. The latter though..seemed to mainly consist of parents who were chaperoning their children but not feeling festive enough to dress up with them. Gray eyes followed a family of four as the kid dressed up as some kind of superhero and enacting some scene with sound effects. [break][break]
The prosecutor wondered if he should give his sibling a call and wish them a happy Halloween. When he gets home...yeah...he'll do it when he gets home. [break][break]
A cry can be heard and Julius tore his eyes away to look toward the source of the sound like many other people. It was the voice of a woman who was running away with her daughter in tow. Running away from...well it was either a very convincing costume with delinquents causing a prank that was going to create a disturbance (something Julius would have been certain of a month ago) or those skeletons were actual skeletons. People were screaming running away from the scene and Julius had a feeling the police was going to come and try to handle this. Going against the stream had not been easy, not helped by the fact that he did his best trying to help those who had fallen down. The last thing he wanted was for someone to possibly die in a stampede.[break][break]
As the prosecutor got closer, he saw a girl in a sailor suit run up with a bat and swung. The lack of blood had finalized the assessment Julius needed. They really were not human. Great. As he fought against the crowd, Julius took out his phone to call the police station in Palais-Bourbon. Pick up..pick up..."This is prosecutor Julius Vesper," he stated louder than usual fearing that he might not be fully heard over the hysteria the moment there was a 'click', "there is a disturbance within Palais-Bourbon. Please send some squads down to help people evacuate and block people from entering." He didn't know how long it would take but the fewer people that were in danger and the more that were safely evacuated the better. Once he got a confirmation that some will be sent, Julius hung up and silently thanked the fact that he made it past the crowd.[break][break]
That was when the man saw where the girl was heading. The creatures moved sluggishly so that was one advantage they had. The disadvantage was that they were ahead of Julius in getting the girl. There was also one moving closer to him and the man knew that he was not going to be able to use his power in case anyone was recording this (he truly questioned people sometimes). Looking at the bag in his hand Julius knew he only had one option. Gripping tightly onto the bad (and silently begrudging the fact that he wasn't going to have as much hard candy as he would like) the male whacked at the skeleton creature. The head fell off but the candy had unfortunately also fallen out.[break][break]
Not wanting to lose a moment, Julius followed after the rather brave (or perhaps arrogant) girl's direction. There were four of the skeleton monsters after her to an empty space where there didn't really seem to be people. The girl was also running away so he can only assume she wasn't really looking behind her. It was night so his powers won't be as strong...he can only hope that also meant they won't get too much attention from the girl. Taking his chances, Julius ran up to the skeleton and used the light magic to form his bow. However, rather than focusing on creating the bow to shoot, he used the magic from the creation to attack one of the skeletons from behind and hopefully getting the attention of the others as well. The bow itself quickly disappearing just in case someone else comes by.[break][break]
As for the girl...Julius can only pray she did not look back and would just continue to run away to safety.
tldr: julius called the police to help evacuate people, killed one skeleton, followed YVETTE YAMAMOTO and killed another skeleton chasing her. killed 2 skeletons in total.
Really, Julius should have been watching where he was going rather than focusing on only what he was chasing. Even if what he was chasing was pretty important, he was a prosecutor. Sure he has yet to make a name for himself but he should create a better image for himself. Having someone on the law running around and bumping into people while looking so haphazard would not give them an ease of mind. [break][break]
The prosecutor had only managed to take a few steps around the woman before her question reached him. Gray eyes tore away from the sky and rooftops to look back at the person he had bumped into. What? Looking down at himself, he once again observed just how bad he must have looked. This wasn't the first time he has gotten injured but he had never entered a clnic...for good reasons. There would be far too many questions and his body seemed to be able to heal itself well enough. Don't get him wrong, it wasn't any instantaneous but rather it was a slow process. Still, there never seemed to be any permanent damage despite the fact that he mainly just clean his wounds and bandaged them up at best. Yeah, he had never gone to medical school and the only true medical friend he had was the internet.[break][break]
Julius opened his mouth ready to reject the idea when she had decided to answer it herself. He took a step back debating if he should just make a run for it or not. No...that...that would probably make him look suspicious. It would be best if he was to just try to diffuse the situation...somehow. The woman took a step closer to him inspecting and there was a sense of relief when she told him that he didn't need any stitching which meant that it wasn't anything big. She wasn't going to try to drag him to a clinic or anything. "I'm fine," he told her softly taking a step away in fear that maybe she would inspect some more and possibly find something that would worry her. A part of him was honestly rather happy to see a good samirtan...even if it might be causing him slight trouble. "This...isn't new." Wait..no...that...urgh..that sounded bad. "I mean...there's no need. Like you said...there's no need for stitches." There, that hopefully would serve as a good enough recovery. "Thank you, though."[break][break]
And with that, the prosecutor tried to take a few steps away from her. Maybe if he pretended that it wasn't a big deal, she won't see it that way either?[break][break]
note: yes, bring him home like a stray XD. also if you can't find a natural reason for emile to stop him, tell me and i can edit this post.
Sir...so this was an employee then. Julus mulled over for a moment glancing over at the selections on display once again while keeping the woman in his line of sight. He saw the small shift in her movement but did not think much of it. It didn't really look anything too out of the norm or at least nothing he should really pay too much attention to. This wasn't exactly an investigation or court hearing. Replaying the question in his head, the prosecutor looked over at the various choices and ways he can approach this. How much of the party should he inform her about? He would hardly want to bore her and in all honesty, he didn't like to talk too much. [break][break]
"I'm going to be attending to a formal party," he started before taking a short pause to mull over his next set of words. That sounded like a good starter...maybe that was really all she needed. Formal was the dress code. "I was wondering...what broach would look good on a black suit." There, two sentences. Nothing that would bore the employee nor force him to talk more than he would like. "Do you have any recommendations?" Hopefully something that wouldn't cost too much.
[attr="class","box"]i think we can have a flashback thread while also doing the event thread together? i think the detour idea could be good and maybe he just waited near cassian watching him do tricks while texting his friend "hey i'm at where this weird clown is doing magic" and you know maybe his friend took his time to find him and cassian can finish his show and the two talk?
yeah, if cassian, actually share that, julius would have mixed feelings. on one hand, he'd totally would respect cassian for you know fighting against his spirit to be a good person. but on the other hand, there would also be that worry of what would happen if cassian loses. so if that ever happens, it could be an interesting dynamic. if not then we can keep it with julius never finding out, i'm up for either one.
and honestly with julius learning a magic that is different from his own, he would definitely be surprised by the concept of just you know, someone being born with it. like how many of you are there? how have i not known any of this existed before? just how much am i missing? and he would probably be really curious about the magic world if only so he can try to find a way to use it to help people but also know what danger he has to protect normal civilians from.
at the beginning julius would probably more likely have himself or the police but someone into custody if only because he does have that worry and belief that civilians shouldn't risk themselves. however, later i can see it being possible for him to ask cassian, especially when he knows he can also trust cassian to you know, apprehend the criminal. like it's one thing to fight corruption together because that's their job, but it's not exactly cassian's job to deal with criminals. and i can also see him probably try to compensate cassian afterwards as well. and yes, just these two duos trying to get something over the criminals. i can just imagine julius inwardly dying the first few times that you know "yes, i am working with a clown magician to apprehend these dangerous gang members..this is my reality now"
