Chaos is known as the being that never became a star. It is everywhere and yet nowhere at the same time.
Neither good nor evil, the ultimate expression of nothingness. The antithesis of the cosmos, creation itself.
Although Chaos claims to be the very state of existence from which the first entities appeared, it cannot form into the entity it wants most.
So it has been cursed to stay in the form of a dark and shapeless void. Floating between existence and nonexistence.
Longingly watching as stars are constantly born and lives are lived. The seeds of malice had been planted, flourished and transformed Chaos into the purest form of evil.
[attr="class","nologicpost1"] Gray eyes caught the rushed movement of someone shoving something away...obviously trying to hide something. What that something was, however, was a mystery to Julius. One that he intended to solve. He decided to ask for who this blond male was first though, a name was usually something good to start with. Julius merely stared back, it wasn't that he would have minded giving the man his name but the fact that the other had not given his away or even seem to show any worry or concern that another person was in the storm spoke of suspicion. In other words, he was as suspicious of Julius as Julius was of him. [break][break]
A paranormal investigator? That sounded like something out of a cartoon. If he was an investigator though...did that mean that he had magic? The male had spoken of a client...was that the person who had given him the power? Once again, the moniker of 'mystery man' was given to Julius. Was that what people commonly call strangers now?[break][break]
"Julius," he introduced himself with a curt nod, "prosecutor. Who is your client...and what is in your bag?" he asked slightly tilting his head at an angle to see the bag easier...even if he couldn't fully see what was in its content.
[newclass=.nologicimg]height:70px;width:70px;padding:15px;background-color:#222222;border-radius:100%;float:left;margin:20px 25px 0px -35px;[/newclass]
[attr="class","nologicpost1"] Julius's body had been knocked to the cavern's wall due to the shockwave before falling down onto the ground. Quickly, he got up in fear the creature may try to attack him again when gray eyes saw the creature focusing on the magician. He should be able to dodge it right? Between the prosecutor and the magician, it was quite obvious which one was more agile. Unfortunately, though, the head that the blue haired male had stepped on a skull (Julius debated on having his body cremated in his will if it meant he would not cause trouble in the future) causing the man to have a messy dodge. As the blue haired magician tried to recover himself after throwing cards to distract the once two-headed dog, Julius as summoned a barrier in order to protect him. Especially with the dog trying to shoot fireballs burning the cards, he didn't want any stray shots to hit the magician.[break][break]
Julius constructed his bow while the dog was still distracted, gray eyes focused. The cards from earlier were able to cut the dog whose head had been focused on Julius. His projections won't matter because of either their sense of hearing or smell. His own arrow while can pierce, but he wasn't sure how thick the dog's neck was. It would be safer to depend on the cards to continuously cut at the neck until it dies rather than depending on one shot.[break][break]
"Neck!" Julius raised his voice hoping the other can hear him before shooting an arrow at the creature's body. It got the dog's attention as it tried to charge at Julius most likely to pin him against the wall with a swipe. The male jumped up in the air just high enough to dodge those paws now that he was starting to pick up its movements. Unfortunately, the creature had been prepared as it snapped its jaws up at him while he was still in the air.[break][break]
He couldn't dodge like this...there was nothing to use in order to-[break][break]
Suddenly Julius felt something solid beneath his feet and without thinking, he jumped once again higher and away from the dog's neck making it try to stretch up exposing its nape. Gray eyes can only widen as he looked down to see the solid surface had been one of his sheld. But...glancing over Julius saw the wall protecting the magician was still there.[break][break]
How did he manage to keep both formed and stable like that?
[attr="class","nologicpost1"] Ah...the boy spun...it was Jayce. Julius was not exactly sure what he had expected...except maybe the person having spun around because they heard a familiar name? Of course, any possibility of that was already discarded when gray eyes had laid on the familiar figure in the place. The prosecutor nodded at his name as he debated on how to continue with this. Should he just try to push the kid to a building and leave him there? Perhaps throw a barrier order to make sure he stayed. Of course, there were problems with that plan...if Julius strayed too far, the barrier would be gone. Going back and looking for a new building to lock Jayce in every time would only prolong his search.[break][break]
Maybe he should consider trying to meet other magical users and asking for some alliance with them. Yet, that thought honestly did not sound very pleasing. He didn't want to risk anyone, just himself should be enough. He simply needed to get stronger.[break][break]
As if reading his displeasure, which was a very natural outcome, Jayce told him to save the lecture for later because they had more pressing matters at the moment. "Stay close," Julius stated before taking the lead. He summoned two shields to protect Jayce from the snow. Gray eyes were alert as he looked around in hopes of finding any human figure but so far it was to no avail. Repeatedly he heard Jayce call out for a 'Ralph' and a 'Samantha'.[break][break]
Curious, the male took out his phone to see that there were no signals. Was the storm more intense here or was there some possible accident due to the storm? Gray eyes squinted as he continued to walk, "did they...tell you..what...section?" Or any details really. Just about anything would help. Gloved hands shoved itself into his pocket in order to grab onto the heat packs. And yet, he still found his body wanting to just curl up in on itself. The only thing that was keeping him going was the danger Samantha, Ralph, and possibly others might be going through. Now that he thought about it, he might end up lecturing at least three people today "Or...what rides..do they..like?" That might also help the two at least narrow down where they could be hiding.
[newclass=.nologicimg]height:70px;width:70px;padding:15px;background-color:#222222;border-radius:100%;float:left;margin:20px 25px 0px -35px;[/newclass]
[attr="class","nologicpost1"] After ending the call, Julius had rushed out into the storm and called for a taxi, paying the person extra for going fast. He knew the danger but at the same time, a group of people was in danger at Dreamland. Why did one even go to an amusement park when there was a warning to not go outside? Was the minimal waiting time truly that worth it? Evidently for some but it was not something the prosecutor could say he understood.[break][break]
Once there, the male had handed the drive the pay along with extra money before rushing out despite the cold hitting against his body. Adrenaline was quite amazing. The male continued to run over and all but jumped the gate noting that there didn't seem to be anyone asking for tickets. He can only hope they had run to shelter or perhaps Jayce's friends had thought to come here for free. If so, then there would be disciplinary measures to take...once he has made sure they were alright of course.[break][break]
"Is anyone here!?" he somewhat shouted over the blizzard. Could anyone hear him? The male was not exactly a very loud person even when he tried to be. Julius greeted his teeth as he continued to walk until...a voice? Yes...he was sure he heard a voice calling out for something. Names? Was it names? Did it matter...this could very well be Jayce's friends.[break][break]
The magi decided to create a barrier facing against the storm's direction in order to minimalize the snow hitting against him. The storm should make it hard to tell what the light was and if asked, he can easily say it was from his phone or something. Either way, the male continued following the sound of the voice until he saw the figure. It was then that he dispelled the shield and once again felt the blizzard's true impact. It was almost tempting to resummon the shield. [break][break]
Julius pressed on towards the voice only...to see a familiar figure that shouldn't be here in front of him. "Jayce?" he asked not exactly trusting his eyes at the moment.
[newclass=.nologicimg]height:70px;width:70px;padding:15px;background-color:#222222;border-radius:100%;float:left;margin:20px 25px 0px -35px;[/newclass]
[attr="class","screamdigiim"] This storm...it's too sudden. France...New Paris...is not..in a location...for such storms. Although...right now...it is...only a theory. I will go...to dreamland...see it...for myself. Stay home. -hangs up-

[attr="class","screamdigiim"] Merlin...may have...contacted me...but...I do wish for...your safety. Not only...as a magi...but also as a...prosecutor. You're...you're a civilian...another...human being. Due to that...it is my duty...to protect you...to the best...of my abilities.
[attr="class","screamdigiim"] Magic...I talked to him...with help...of magic. As for...what a magi is...I can use magic...and I guess...not...exactly human. Not...fully...anymore anyway.
[break]
[attr="class","screamdigiim"] And that's good...that you don't....go out...during this storm...not many...should...or do........ahem. I...essentially made a...contract...to fight agents of..chaos. Did...did Merlin ever...explained that...to you? Just..how much...did he...tell you?
[attr="class","screamdigiim"] It's a long story...Merlin and I...talked and...I know about your position. My name...as you should...know...is Julius Vesper. I am...a magi...I can...use magic. There has...been...a snowstorm...have you been...alright?
[attr="class","nologicpost1"] So that was his potential...Julius looked down biting his lips in contemplation. That power was rather amazing and could very well be helpful. If Merlin could bring out that power, then surely the man can offer the prosecutor the power to fight youma much easier. Yet there was a concern nonetheless, what if this was the extent of Julius's power? No...he couldn't think like that. Even if that was the case, it was stronger than what he had originally. It would allow him to be of more help in battle. Seeing all the benefits this deal could bring, the prosecutor accepted the offer. He will have to step up and meet the expectations the spirit had for him.[break][break]
And the sooner he can train Jayce, the better as well. So Julius had asked if he could speak to the boy and help him understand the situation he was in. He had expected it to happen right away, for Jayce to simply appear and talk but what happened instead was Merlin's shifted eyes and denial. Usually, when one looked away it was either a sign of shame, sadness or they were simply lying about something. It was always hard to tell which one it was unless it was a courtroom, then it was usually the third possibility.[break][break]
Gray eyes narrowed as Merlin explained the situation. It wasn't exactly the first time someone Julius had respected and even looked up to had disappointed him. There was always some flaw that would dent his respect in them and Julius would be lying if he said he wasn't prepared for such things. Yet the disappointment still tasted bitter on his tongue and to hear someone forcibly take over another person's body. Someone who had already lived their lives. Soon, Merlin looked back up at him and those gray eyes were still narrowed. He understood though, this was sensitive information and not something he could tell Jayce. However, he can only hope that Merlin one day would as the boy deserved to know. What would happen if Merlin had gotten injured by a youma and the boy woke up to unknown injuries? Not to say that Merlin was weak but it was a possibility, mistakes happen.[break][break]
A pale hand reached out to take acquire the phone from Merlin and Julius was able to open up the phone with relative ease. There was no password at all. Gray eyes squinted at the screen as he wondered if he should tell the boy to password lock his phone. He had thought such practices were common for everyone. Evidently, he was wrong. The male registered his phone number on Jayce's phone as Julius Vesper before using it to call himself. With that, he also was able to get Jayce's phone number. It only then did he hold the phone up for Merlin to take. Yet when the spirit wrapped his finger around the phone, Julius's own hold became firm. "Don't...do this often." Julius knew he was in no real position to give Merlin such an order but he could not condone such behavior either. Merlin had already lived a life, it was only fair for Jayce to live his own. "I won't...take...any of your...lessons...unless Jayce knows...and agrees...to letting you...take over his body."[break][break]
There was a sense of loss knowing that Julius may never be able to become stronger from this deal. Nonetheless, he still wished to protect and motivate Jayce when he can. The boy needed to be able to protect himself and hopefully, one day when he becomes older and stronger, others as well. As a magi and someone who worked for the people, it was Julius's duty to see that. The extra benefit was just something that would have been nice to have. With that, the magus allowed the spirit to retrieve his vessel's phone.[break][break]
Julius gave a small nod before walking away. Merlin had been here and Julius could try to train somewhere else or more importantly...try to read books on how to mentor or coach something. It seemed to be something he should invest in with this addition.
notes: or now he just goes "screw the lesson" and will do this pro-bono just cuz he doesn't agree with merlin's methods XD
[newclass=.nologicimg]height:70px;width:70px;padding:15px;background-color:#222222;border-radius:100%;float:left;margin:20px 25px 0px -35px;[/newclass]
[attr="class","nologicpost1"] In the snow storm that has been continuing for days, a figure walks through the snow, his tracks quickly covered up by the wind and white powder. Julius wondered if it was possible to build up an immunity of the cold from this. Ever since this snowstorm, he had been wearing at least five layers of clothing, boots and even an ear muff he had recently bought for himself. Yet, he still felt himself shivering as his investigation continued on. He had been spending what free time he had trying to find the cause from this, having even used that website Oscar had showed him before this storm.[break][break]
The number of dead ends and false stories was rather demotivating. Unfortunately, Julius did not exactly have any other leads at the moment and therefore had no choice. There were reasons why he was a prosecutor but not an investigator. His breath was visible in the cold blizzard as he looked around. A person had stated there was a figure that could be seen in the snowstorm unaffected by the weather. When they had tried to call out to the figure, it had simply disappeared. Once again it had only been one person and it could very well mean nothing. A small prank someone had decided to do online but it was the only lead Julius had.[break][break]
As much as he appreciated snow, he would do just about anything to get rid of the storm at the moment. And that was when he saw a shadow of a figure within the storm. Was that the person? After all not many would actually go out in the storm, especially when school was closed. Those who did go out often used vehicles and for good reasons. Julius pushed on and as he got near the figure, he saw it was someone with blond hair and not that strange feeling that Julius has been feeling too often lately. "Who...are you?" he asked not exactly bothering with any greetings. Not when this person could very well be the one behind this snow storm even without that strange feeling. Why else would they be out here?
[newclass=.nologicimg]height:70px;width:70px;padding:15px;background-color:#222222;border-radius:100%;float:left;margin:20px 25px 0px -35px;[/newclass]
[attr="class","nologicpost1"]Ayaka had muttered something but Julius was unable to fully decipher it from their distance and how quiet her voice was. It was rather different from how she spoke earlier but that might simply be due to fatigue. The magi, rather offended, informed her of the true source of his power before once again asking who she had made her contract with in order to get her magical power.[break][break]
Rather than answering right away, the girl had asked for a defense attorney. Julius merely arched a brow unable to understand how this situation would grant her such a request. After all, this was not a court nor was it a formal criminal investigation. In other words, she had no right to a defense attorney nor was there a reason for one to even be here. Even if this was a court case, during the investigation she would only have thirty minutes to talk with her defense attorney before the interrogation began. A system created in order to avoid defense attorneys feeding lines or preventing their clients from working with the police. One that Julius was always surprised American never adopted. Either way though, she was not being accused of any crime, he simply needed to know what side she was allied with. There was also something off about her voice but the prosecutor could not exactly decipher that either. Gray eyes kept focused on the green haired magi in front of him as she stood up and supplied him with his answer.[break][break]
Calli, whose gender was unknown. Part of that information was not exactly important. No, what he focused on was the rather unfamiliar name. Evidently, Io was not the only contractor on Earth, which had always been a possibility but it was never confirmed nor denied until now. And he assumed with a burning house, her wish must have been caused by that. Whatever she wished for though, was not exactly of importance.[break][break]
Julius merely gave a small nod, "Io," he stated, "my contractor...his name...it's Io." Glancing outside, he knew that the distance was not too far but it was rather evident Ayaka was quite exhausted. "Do you...need help?" he asked gesturing to the streets.
[newclass=.nologicimg]height:70px;width:70px;padding:15px;background-color:#222222;border-radius:100%;float:left;margin:20px 25px 0px -35px;[/newclass]
[attr="class","nologicpost1"] Julius was unsure if he was supposed to be insulted by such a statement, especially since he had not even offered mentorship to Sandrine. Would he help if the blond had asked for it? Probably..he would like to think he would help, but to actually mentor? That was another set of responsibility and while Julius accepted interns, that was different from mentorship. And even then there were often times where he had doubted his own abilities to pass on what little knowledge he knew, in fact, it was Marcus who had talked him into taking interns so early in his career. The man had stated he would be able to understand them better than older prosecutors and teaching can also help the Vesper learn as well.[break][break]
So the prosecutor merely kept quiet as the other continued, the polite smile was gone and in its place was a neutral look. Or perhaps it was a guarded one, Julius honestly could not fully tell. Julius knew of the defense attorney and how they will fight tooth and nail to defend the guilty. If not then to at least reduce the sentences as if to say that the victim's pain was less egregious. As if they should have the ability to dictate the damage their clients have done to the victims. [break][break]
Gray eyes merely blinked at the question as his mind tried to register it. There were implications to such statements, implications that to be frank were simply impossible. And therefore...Julius was unsure of how to even answer such a question. It was almost as if asking what one would do if one day they suddenly grew another head. There would be quite a lot of strange unfortunate implications for such a phenomenon that really was impossible. Even mutations in one's genes would mean they were already born with two heads or even if they were to grow another one, it wouldn't happen so suddenly. There would at least be a process first. Therefore such a thing was simply impossible (even in a world where magic exist until proven otherwise...if ever) and not something one could answer. Julius's own thoughts were broken by the sound of a chuckle before the following words.[break][break]
"Besides, I'd figure some chose this career because the police aren't perfect..."
[break]
Pale hands opened up and slammed onto the table pushing the owner body up to a standing position, "shut your mouth!" Gray eyes widened looking down at his hands, his body trembling in anger at the mere thought. This was not the first time Julius has ever heard of such accusations. No, there were many that shared Sandrine's opinions as Julius has heard defense attorneys try to rip apart a police's credibility before if it meant they can get that innocent verdict. The willingness to destroy someone for money and reputation. "You don't know anything about them!" he shouted, lifting his head to glare at the Sandrine. If it wasn't illegal, if it wasn't in the hands of someone else to declare one's verdict and punishment, Julius would kill people like Sandrine on the spot.[break][break]
They didn't know, understand or simply did not care. Perhaps it was even a combination. After all, it wasn't as if defense attorneys were allowed to understand the whole process of how an investigation is carried out. It wasn't as if the police just chose a random passerby as a suspect. They would not tell Julius unless there were certain and even then Julius had always worked with them every step of the way. He has even visited the crime scenes in other to help himself understand. To say that after such extensive effort and understanding that accusing the innocent could cost someone their livelihood, that they were simply wrong? People like the officer who had taken in Julius and his brother when they were young would be so foolish enough to make such a mistake? Even if the prosecutor did not agree with the officer's choice to keep the truth from him for so long, Julius still respected him. Perhaps he didn't trust him to tell Julius personal truths, the man was still a man who put effort and caution into his work. To have such thoughts was to doubt the police and what kind of prosecutor would doubt the police? They placed faith in Julius to make sure the criminal faced justice and Julius would not push a case if he did not reciprocate such faith. At times it was not just the police but even the victims as well. The victims (should the crime only be an attempt) who would have to point out the culprit from what they remembered of their attack. [break][break]
And...to accuse the police and possible victims of such things...fingers once again curled up scratching against the table but not leaving a mark, "Continue this path if that is what you want." As frustrating as it can be, Julius knew that he couldn't control the life of another nor did he want to. "But don't you dare tell me such lies ever again! You will never help another human being as you try to save some criminal just because they managed to trick you or your own ego. I will simply be there to make sure what you do won't actually harm anyone."[break][break]
Then without waiting for the defense attorney in training (his future opposition) to reply, Julius stepped away from the table and soon the shelter. He didn't care about the rain that had lightened up clinging onto his body. [break][break]
He needed to get away from here.
note: you say that and yet the one that exploded was julius. also umm unless ringo stops him consider this to be julius exist post.
[newclass=.nologicimg]height:70px;width:70px;padding:15px;background-color:#222222;border-radius:100%;float:left;margin:20px 25px 0px -35px;[/newclass]
[attr="class","nologicpost1"] It was strange how Ava had agreed to disagree and yet still continued on with this debate. A contradiction if anything but not the usual contradictions Julius would often have to deal with during testimonies. No, it wasn't one due to a misremembering or an outright lie but rather...something a contrarian would have? Yes, it was more align of debating for the sake of debating rather than for the debate to some means to an end. It was almost strange really. "No." He simply answered. Just because one was given a form that did not mean they were alive unless one counted rocks and buildings to be alive. After all, those were given forms but Julius hardly considered inanimate objects to be alive. "They simply...exist." But existence was simply not the same as life.[break][break]
When asked, Julius had given away his information with relative ease. Which seemed to surprise Ava as she snapped back allowing the prosecutor to have his space once again. The male almost breathed a sigh of relief. Gray eyes stared into widened black ones before Ava breathed out her answer.[break][break]
Vice.[break][break]
The opposition in every way. Similar to prey and predator, Julius was to hunt down youmas but he had also taken it upon himself to also fight a corrupted should he meet one. After all, they were an agent of chaos and Julius was one of order. [break][break]
"Golden rays I conjure thee. To give thy truth unto me," he spoke the incantation and a golden lasso was created ready to wrap itself around Ava's arms to her waist should she be caught off guard.
note: another thing for noire to hold against julius, not answering her questions.
